Really disappointed to see that refrigerator has failed in less than 2 years of normal use. Upper part is not cooling. So far, #ge nor Milton's are willing to help. I like their good steward philosophy and support them whenever I can. These guys were the consultants and saviors for the Austin Treaty Oak. Impressive. The mill direct showroom is located on Highway 71 West just on the other side of Smithville proper before you get to Bastrop. When I was there recently I saw beautiful furniture, tables, frames, small boxes and wood flooring. A big chunk of a tree trunk carved into a chair is not for everyone but it is very cool to see. They are best known for their mesquite flooring--it's gorgeous.

The store is filled by five separate vendors, one of which is the owner. You'll find all kinds of books, decor, furniture, old radios, Vaseline glass, toys, and much more. I was leaving to go out of town at 7 am with a small tote bag. I was about to put it in my trunk until I realized I had left my car keys inside the house. So, I get my keys and then get into my car parked in the drive way. I hear this weird noise, but did not think anything of it. I was semi-awake, so I didn't give it a second thought. When I got halfway to my destination, my hubs calls me and said my clothes and shoes were on the car pavement in front of the house. You guessed it, I drove right over my tote bag. Amazingly, nothing was damaged other than my shoe box. So off I went to the Container Store to buy a plastic shoe box to replace the one I ran over and blasted to smithereens. Did I learn my lesson...absolutely? Don't take a tote!? No. If you are leaving early in the morning pack your things in the trunk the night before.

It's not exclusive like many galleries and all it takes to participate is an annual membership (which is shockingly cheap). The staff is very friendly and eager to chat.
