I have been to several eye docs, One in particular shall remain nameless. Because of my eye injury, I have to be very careful who I see for my eyes. As good as the eye doctor is the staff has to be even better for me to even go there. I was there last year & I found the place by accident looking for someone who specializes in contact lenses. Both the doc and Janet went out of their way to fit me with a special prosthetic lens. They both stayed later than they should have to make sure it was done correctly. 5 stars for the doctor but 1 star or less to the one front staff with short purple hair (believe her name is Janet and I think she is the office manager). As I explained to the doctor and her, the doctor is amazing and we really wish we could continued as his patients. However, after experiencing awful custumer service from this particular staff member more than once, we will be looking for a new eye doctor. She is extremely rude and condescending - not welcoming at all except the people she wants to treat w respect. If you are not one of the selected ones, she will either ignore you or make you feel like you are bothering or just not deserving of her respect. We found this office through our insurance website (UHC). The reason we left our last practice was because of issues with insurance filing. It was a bigger optometry company nearby- they took our insurance cards, never billed our insurance, and then billed us 2 years later trying to hold us accountable. A huge mess! Nothing was great or memorable about the office that would keep us there. When I called to schedule, the person took my insurance information over the phone and said she would call back shortly to make sure there would be no issues with seeing us at the office. She called back within 5 minutes! We scheduled on a Saturday so my husband and I could be there together as new patients. It was quite busy for a small office, and honestly did feel a little uncomfortable initially trying to keep distance from others while filling out forms. I broke the screw on my glasses, causing the lens to fall out. My glasses prescription was very expensive, and my frames are no longer available. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Doran. Not only am I a hard to fit case with contacts, I was also on a tight deadline. I needed a good fit, with no previous history (I was a new patient), and I needed custom trial contacts to try out. Despite the odds, Dr. Doran went above and beyond to see me multiple times in a short amount of time to get me fitted with the right prescription. He's very knowledgeable and fully understands the eye, astigmatism, and even how different types of contacts can be prescribed to overcome some issues. I ultimately left with two different viable solutions in brands that both worked really well. It's rare to find a doctor willing to put in so much time and effort. I saw Dr. Ryan Doran today for the first time and I couldn't be happier. Everything was so easy - from reception to billing. Dr. D (as his staff calls him) clearly explained everything and provided me with several well informed options for my contact lenses and glasses. He was not pushy like other optometrists that I have gone to in the past and got me in and out super fast, but yet took care of me. His office staff was great too! Very accommodating. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff! My husband and I went for our annual exams and to get new glasses and contacts. We brought our toddler for his first exam as well and were a little worried about it. Dr Doran was quick but very thorough for all of us and made sure our son was comfortable and at ease. They had toys for him in the waiting room which kept him occupied during our exams as well. The woman at the front desk was very patient and helpful. I visited this practice a few weeks ago and was so impressed with both the quality of care I received and the staff that I encountered during my visit. I have only recently started wearing glasses and after having a very frustrating go around with my local big eye care chain, my husband recommended that I see Dr. Doran. I was hesitant because the office is a bit of a drive from our home, but I am so glad I did. After a year of struggling to find the right prescription, I can finally see without headaches again. The office seems like a little family. The receptionist on the day that I went in was actually Dr. Doran's wife filling in for the day. She was super friendly and very helpful in parsing out my insurance details. Dr. Doran was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I brought my rimless glasses to them on 04/05/2012 for replacement lens and had to wait close to a month for them, they had to return the glasses to their lab "three times" to get it done correctly. I would rather walk around without corrective lens on then to ever go back to Clary Eye Associates for glasses. read more

I've been very happy with Dr. Clary. She's thorough and is good with the kids, too. My only complaint is she is consistently understaffed. I always have to wait a long time to get glasses adjusted, etc. and often during office hours the phones go to a recording that they are busy helping others. The wait is always at least 3 weeks for glasses to come in (though they tell you less when you order). We are always well fitted and if you aren't happy with the lenses they will reorder for you, but be prepared to wait again. read more

My son and I went to Dr. Doran for an eye exam and a contact lens evaluation. The eye exam for each of us was $200. My lens eval was $145, along with an extra $80 for a monovision exam and a $60 retinal exam (Why those weren't included is anyone's guess.) Yes...almost $500 for one eye exam and contact eval. I left my exam with a pair of trial lenses in my eyes and my $485 credit card receipt. There was no paperwork indicating which lens was supposed to go in which eye or what brand of lenses I was wearing. After wearing the trail lenses for 2 days, my eye sight grew worse. It turns out I had mixed up the right and left lenses. After putting the lenses in the correct eye, the comfort level was still off. I made a follow appointment for 3:45 the following week. When I arrived I was not greeted. I'm not even sure that the folks behind the desk looked up from their phone call. The office was extremely busy. After waiting over 30 minutes and realizing I had been forgotten, I rescheduled for another day. Finally, at my follow up, I learned that the lens diameter was not correct hence the poor comfort. After finally getting fitted with the correct lenses,I ordered a year's supply of monthly lenses for $265. I was promised a $30-$60 rebate. I was told the lenses would arrive in 5-7 days. After multiple phone calls, the lenses finally arrived at my home (while I was away) two weeks later. The rebate coupon stapled to my receipt was the wrong lens manufacturer. I made arrangements to come by the office to pick up the correct rebate coupon. When I attempted to fill out the rebate info, I discovered that in fact, this coupon was for "reward points" and that there would be no rebate. Again more phone calls, more busy signals, more messages not returned.... Too many Snafus at this place and way too expensive. I will not be back. read more

Awful customer service and some of the associates are just not that bright. They got orders wrong - open late, i.e. opened at 10:15 when they should have been opened at 10:00. I've done business with them 2x. The first time was bad, but I decided to give them another shot. Bad choice, because the 2nd time was worse. I walked in and never even got acknowledged - with no one waiting to get glasses. I was there to get glasses for my kids; I already had a prescription. I can't comment on the optomotrist, because I've never seen him or her - but the staff there is just not good at all. read more

I have sent multiple requests for reimbursement but they have blown them all off. Good optometrist but I can't recommend because I was overcharged and not compensated for it. read more
