Zero stars. I discussed details on a Friday with Luis and i asked for paperwork to confirm. After asking for the paperwork multiple times and agreeing on the details, Luis finally emailed me the contract on Monday (the plan was to leave in 6 days). One hour later he said he changed his mind and good luck with the move. Im a single mother with a small child who had to plan a huge move from Ct to FL. After we negotiated a price, a day for the move and I explained to him that I had to plan plane tickets and transporting my car arrangements all around the move out date- he cancelled an hour after finally sending me paperwork. Also wanted the total payment upfront. What a heartless, horrible and unprofessional person. Karma will catch up with you, Luis. read more

I recently used the Moscoso moving team to move my belongings from one side of Norwalk to the other. I selected them exclusively based on the Yelp review. We had 5 guys, two trucks and 200 boxes plus furniture to move. The guys did a great job, and really worked very hard to make sure nothing was damaged, including either house. T The owner is a reasonable businessman providing fair pricing, and flexible scheduling. While I would not say they are absolutely the cheapest you can find, the other moving companies i got quotes from would not provide me a firm and fix quote. I was a big fan of the no surprise pricing we were able to agree, so I was able to have piece of mind, as my box count grew between the date of the quote, and the date of the move. I even added a fridge to the move and the guys never questioned it, and moved it with out any complaints or extra cost. While I had a minor damaged item in the move, the owner was very responsive to my complaint and we were able to find a very fair compromise with no effort on my part. He stood behind his work, that of his team, and did right by me. He won allot of points on character and fairness in his treatment of my situation. Please read this carefully before making a decision. We were moving from a 2 bedroom in Norwalk to a 2 bedroom in NYC and requested flat rate quotes from 3 movers. We engaged Moscoso even though they weren't the cheapest because Luis came over to survey the apartment. We liked that and signed him up a month before the actual move. We fixed the move date for Tuesday Aug1 2017. After Luis looked at our stuff and apartment he said that he will come at around 8am on Aug1 and we should be at the new apartment by 12 on Aug1. Based on this I booked service elevators from 8-12 and from 12-5pm in consultation with him. From here the experience went downhill. Two days before the move, Luis called us to inform that he would be collecting our stuff a day sooner, on Jul31 and that we could leave just a few personal items that he will collect on Aug1. His reasoning was that we might encourage tee traffic in NYC and this was we would be able to leave for the city fairly early in the morning. However, the real reason for this was that he had taken up 1-2 additional jobs for the same day and he was trying to move them all together! We found this out later. Anyhow, this was an unreasonable request but after much back and forth with the building management (service elevator), we agreed. On Jul31, we packed most of the heavy stuff (there was a power outage to we left the rest for next day). On Aug1, Luis and his crew came back for the rest at 8am. We loaded everything else and they left from Norwalk at 10am. When they were driving off, I confirmed with them that they are heading to the city and we will see them in a short while and that we will be right behind them in our car. Luis replied in affirmative. We reached our new apartment at 11:30. We waited for Luis till 3pm. I tried calling his cell a dozen times, left frantic messages, but got no response. It was a frustrating wait because we were without any furniture and our 3yr old was very uncomfortable sleeping on the wooden floor! The building had another move and they weren't sure if they could give me an extension past 5pm on the service elevator. Around 3:30pm, Luis called me back and informed me that they were moving someone else too so they will be there by around 4pm! By this point I was very angry, but I kept my calm and asked him to hurry. They reached at 4:30pm, after a 5 hour wait. To my relief, the building let us move our stuff till 7pm. We were done by 7:30pm. We have moved 5 times in the last 7 years but so far this move had been one of the worst experiences. We were asked to make unreasonable concessions and we agreed to them. That day, we were so tired and we were mindful that the 3 person crew must be tired from moving 2-3 apartments - so despite the bad experience we gave them a generous tip and thought we will put this behind us and not give any review at all. But, it got worse from here. The back of a tv table was broken, the top of a bamboo storage basket was broken too. Most importantly, a bag full of our expensive coats and other valuables was missing. We called Luis and asked him to look into it. Apparently, he called 2 other individuals whose houses he had moved that day but it wasn't with them. When they were unloading our truck I spotted something inside that wasn't ours so it is entirely possible that our box got mixed up with someone else. My husband went back to our old apartment to ensure that we had not left it there. At this stage, we decided that it was too much and we need to record our experience properly, so it can be helpful for others. The only good thing about the experience was that his crew was respectful and cheerful. But, I would rather have a grumpy and rude crew that doesn't misplace my stuff and sticks to agreed upon timelines. Very disappointed. Wish I could give negative stars! read more

I had Luis to help me move from Connecticut to New York over the weekend. I highly recommend Luis and their crew! They run a family business and I really appreciate the flat rate pricing, professional approach to the process (estimate, quote, deliver), and that how they handled a stressful move in day really well! My building in New York, like many others, are extremely hectic and difficult when it comes to moves. All along the way, Moscoso was able to provide insurance proofs, were very accomodating to changes and limits of move in times, and respected the window we had for the elevator. On the day of the move, it turns out many two other apartments on the same floor were also moving (talking about NY craziness) and they totally overran into our time slot in a very unprofessional way. I was one of the first to give Moscoso a 5-star rating when they first helped me move a year and a half ago. Since then I've recommended Louis to a lot to work colleagues and his business has grown significantly. But it seems it's grown beyond his control. I called him a month ago. He picked up and we arranged a moving date for the house my fiancé and I bought. But he insisted on doing a walk through of our apartment for an estimate and then stopped returning our calls when we tried to set it up. We haven't heard from him in weeks and it's now 2 weeks until our closing date. I'm really disappointed to say this after the positive and cost effective experience we had the first time. One star off for our particle board furniture not surviving the move, but apparently it's not supposed to :/ When we got to SoNo, a third mover materialized to make the job go quicker, and Luis even drilled my taken apart bed back together for me. Working with Moscoso and Luis was a great experience this past weekend. My husband and I were moving out of a downtown Stamford apartment to a house in Norwalk. Luis and his crew really took the time to wrap every single piece of furniture to ensure nothing would be broken in transport. Granted, it took a long time for this to all happen, but we are glad they took extra precaution rather than not at all. Once we got to our house they brought everything in quickly and set it up just how we wanted. Spoke with them on a Tuesday and set up an appointment for an in home estimate to be done that following Thursday at 2pm. As a mother of a nine month old with a very full schedule who is in the middle of closing on a house, dealing with different vendors and contractors for various inspections which have me running all over the place, along with packing up an apartment all while still taking care of my other day to day responsibilities, I value my time and I make it a point to keep my appointments and to plan out my days accordingly. With that being said- I blocked off time to be at my home for them to show up and do this estimate- and no one showed up. No phone call, no email, no text. In fact, when I called I didn't even get someone to answer the phone. To me, if you cant be counted on to stick to your word for something as simple as coming to give a quote, moving day would most likely be a disaster. We will take our business elsewhere. read more

I had a complicated move -- two pickup points in NY, drop-off in Norwalk, moving heavy stuff between rooms, moving and reinstalling a heavy bedroom mirror and even a drop-off at the recycling center. Moscoso Moving - unprofessional and its practices potentially illegal/fraudulent (Formal complaints filed with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection). I used Moscoso Moving for my interstate move from CT (apartment) to NH (storage) on 6/7/2016, and below is what happened: - Louis (the owner of the moving company) showed up 2 hours late, after multiple reminder calls - Only 1 mover (Louis) showed up, though the contract clearly states 2 movers (which I believe is a breach of contract) - Louis did not fill in the list of inventory at all, other than writing "full move" (fully inventorying all items is legally required for interstate move, which I later found out) - Louis left the site in CT a few hours later than originally planned, which prevented me from accompanying him to NH storage site, given my appointment in the late afternoon (which was communicated to him when we set up the original appointment) - Louis dropped off my items at the NH storage firm and signed the document before the receiver at NH storage firm finished inspecting/inventorying all items - When it turned out multiple items including a TV set (original price: $200), sofa bed (original price: $700), and a flat screen TV (original price: $600) were damaged, he refused to take responsibility and offered the following, after multiple phone calls and negotiations: o If he can have the TV back, which will cost ~$400 to ship from NH to CT, he will file an insurance claim to his insurance company, and pay me back the replacement cost of $50 for the TV. Since he will not cover the shipping cost, basically he is telling me to pay $400 to get $50 and take the loss of $350, not to mention the TV originally cost $600. Lack of professionalism, breach of contract, illegal practice, and lack of standard customer service procedures are all evidences that I believe Moscoso Moving Company needs to be properly investigated by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, and I have filed the formal complaints with these federal and state agencies. It is up to you to decide which moving company to use, and I sincerely hope no one has to go through this pain. Moving itself is painful enough. read more

This moving company was great - they definitely had the lowest prices, showed up on time, let me know when they were starting the clock (they get paid by the hour), and hustled to get our move done quickly. They were all nice people and even put our ping pong table back together for us. They really all went above and beyond, and I'd use them again in a second. Lewis just moved us 2 weeks ago and he and his crew were phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about the work they did. Several pieces of our furniture weighed nearly 800lbs. The "boys" wrapped every piece of furniture and glass within minutes, literally. Last time we did it ourselves the wrapping, took us days. Lewis insisted that his guys wrap.
