I understand pre-work out .. but every time I visit this location, the escalator going up is not working .. didn't see an elevator either (doesn't mean there's not one lol) The staff is cordial but it's one of the dirtier locations in the restroom. I notified an employee that the bathroom was dirty. Five minutes later somebody came in and all they did was spray air freshener into every stall. There was ample amount of water on the counters. I could've been wiped off the bathroom stall walls seem like somebody just comes to spray them, but never wipes anything away. The showers are pretty dirty as hair does get left behind by people who don't wrap their hair up and I feel like there's a lot of dirt and grime on the walls and the shower curtains as well. The gym equipment is standard, but I don't like when you are on the right side of the gym and it's about to be sunset because the equipment faces the window which unless you thought to bring sunglasses can be a little bit much if you are not aware All in all, there is a lot of parking as there are two levels and I would return. I just hope that they implement a more frequent and actual cleaning service. read more

Generally clean, well-run, and a great value. Staff is friendly, but the corporate governance is heavy-handed and intrusive. As in: they demand a credit card AND bank acct info, and you can suspend your membership for all of 2 months - if you provide them a note from your doctor. Gosh, Planet Fitness do I need your permission to go outside and play too? But it's also getting increasingly crowded, with more and more bros staring at their phones for 15 min while not working out on the station they're occupying. So this member is ready to move on when Built re-opens. And if I have one deep criticism, it's their High School Summer Pass promo that runs June to August. Encouraging teens to exercise is a totally worthy goal, and give them a deal sure. But, if it's going to be offered as ZERO cost, then maybe offer paying members the courtesy to suspend their dues for the summer, because it gets so crowded it's not even worth going. And it signals that PF is more focused on sign-ups and marketing initiatives than ultimately giving a damn about the workout environment. read more

I really want to like this Planet Fitness--and honestly, we absolutely love the front desk staff, especially Alex and Lucy. They're always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and they're a big part of why we enjoy coming here. This review is definitely not about them. But the bathroom? At this point, it needs its own membership, maintenance plan, and possibly an exorcism. There is constantly something broken. Toilets that don't work, faucets that are out of commission, and now the ceiling is literally leaking badly enough that there are buckets strategically placed around the restroom catching water. Nothing says "Judgement Free Zone" quite like navigating an obstacle course of buckets and Wet Floor signs just to pee. And this isn't some random one-time plumbing issue. That I could completely understand. It's the frequency of the problems that's ridiculous. It feels like every time one thing gets fixed, two more things break. At this point I walk into the restroom wondering what today's featured attraction is going to be. The frustrating part is that we actually like this gym and the people who work here. Alex, Lucy, and the rest of the front desk team deserve to work in a facility that's being properly maintained just as much as the members deserve to use one. I'm not expecting the Four Seasons. I'm at Planet Fitness. But I would like a functioning toilet, a working faucet, and preferably a ceiling that keeps the water on the other side of it. The buckets really tie the room together, though. Corporate/management, please give this location the attention it clearly needs. The staff is great. I came here when it was world for women about 20 years ago. Now it's planet fitness and it's pretty cool but I'm not sure I like the elliptical. I'm used to working out on the Precor or life fitness so this is a change for me. The gym is definitely purple and it's busy tonight, Friday, February 27, 2026. The girl at the front desk is really nice and showed us how to do the guest pass. It's $24.99 per month with a moderate initiation fee. Much more reasonable than Equinox! The manager working at the front desk was one of the most unprofessional employees I have encountered. She appeared irritated, spoke aggressively to members, and made the environment feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I witnessed her interacting rudely with several people, not just myself. A gym should be a positive and friendly place, but her attitude completely changed the experience. I absolutely love this little gym! They have just the right combination of cardio and muscle toning machines, massage chairs, and hydro beds and red light therapy, and everything is , the color that has the highest vibration. They even have a shower or two. They also have lockers. Everything is squeaky clean, always. Even the toilets! Where I can put my pink butt down and not worry about a thing while I go about my business. My experience with other gyms in LA, and believe me, I've tried them all ... over the past 30 years ... has been that the showers get really dirty and disgusting, the pools and jacuzzis are hair raising. I would much rather go home and shower in my own place. And swim in the ocean . And go sit in a friend's Jacuzzi. Planet Fitness gets it. They give you the necessities - all the machines you need and some wonderful spa utilities afterwards to relax you . The people who work there are very friendly and kind, always greeting you when you walk in. Finally, going to the gym is a pleasure ! And my body is showing it ... Been going to this location for about 4 months now. Before that I went to one in Toronto and also tried out the Burbank one near the airport. I like this location because it's close to me. The staff is very friendly, and even though it gets crowded (they all do) 99% of the time I've been able to get a bench and do my thing. It's clean and people generally leave each other alone and are polite. I'm a black card member and they also have good hydro massage machines with a 10 min timer. The Burbank location had them in a 5 min timer. Not sure what some of the other reviews are saying. But they have dumbbells up to 75lbs. Barbells and smith machines. They don't have the 30 min section that some other larger ones do. And they are NOT 24hrs like some other locations. So keep that in mind. The parking is usually fine. It gets a bit crazy cause it's a busy intersection. Pro tip - there is free underground parking that is always half empty! Overall. For a 10-25 dollar membership fee. This place is pretty great. I've tried more expensive gym options and the cost to value trade offs really aren't worth it. read more

I really love this gym -- it's clean, well‑maintained, and the staff is consistently friendly. I took off one star because the way the fitness training classes are scheduled doesn't make much practical sense. If someone wants to take more than one class, they're forced to wait an hour in between due to the current lineup. Right now the order is strength, core, stretch, then cardio. That sequence isn't logical for how people actually work out. It doesn't make sense to do strength first then do a core and stretch before a cardio class. Love the classes just not the order of them. read more

The new Studio City Planet Fitness is here! Located in the plaza on Laurel and Ventura next to Tender Greens and Shanghai Rose Dim Sum, Planet Fitness is off to a fantastic start. Adam and Bryan helped get me signed up for my day pass. They're both really nice guys, friendly and professional and enthusiastic. The gym is so clean! It is also very well air-conditioned. The equipment is new and excellent condition. Really great! I love the purple motif. Locker rooms are clean and roomy. I had such a blast in the recovery lounge. I tried the Hydro-massage bed, the massage chair, the Cryo-lounge chair, and the wellness pod. The recovery lounge is a really nice perk to have it at a gym. I live locally, so it's easy for me to walk here, but the parking is free, and there's also underground parking to keep your car cool. I'm definitely coming back! read more

This is our Planet Fitness! My wife and I workout here at least 3x a week and we love it! I've been to many locations and this new location here in Studio City is super clean and has plenty of new gym equipment that make for a great workout experience!! Everyone at the front desk is super nice and welcoming and seems to enjoy their job here. There are about 4 significant workout rooms. We call them the mostly treadmill area, the yellow room, the purple room, and the silver room. They all have different workout equipment in them and you can hear the music at a good volume. We are black card members so we get to use the extra facilities which is really nice because we love the hydro chairs! They also have tanning, a meditation room, and a cryo therapy chair. It is so nice to enjoy this area after a good workout. The bathrooms are usually clean at this location and there is a good amount of locker space as well as showers. The parking lot is free and if it's overcrowded there's a garage. They don't sell smoothies but there's a fantastic smoothie shop a few steps away called Royalty Juice Bar and a nearby Trader Joe's. We love coming to Planet Fitness- it's a great environment for motivation and dedication to our goals! read more

This planet fitness located in studio city attracts very unusual gym members that like to stand and watch you while you're working out on a machine or while you're doing exercises on a gym mat which they try extremely hard "evict" you from the machine or area when you're doing your workouts. 100% it will happen to you no question about that. I have never been to another gym like golds gym, 24 hour fitness, crunch, etc that has gym members just standing staring you down while you're working out on a machine or doing exercises on a gym mat because they are trying really hard to evict you. I was getting in multiple verbal fights with these gym members at this planet fitness location in studio city because they kept asking me while I was working out on a machine how many more reps do I have and how much longer am I going to be on the machine, which my answer back to them was go find another machine or do something else besides standing staring me down while I'm working out. The poor management allows gym members to BULLY you and Evict you off of the gym machines or while you are doing exercise on a gym mat. I just find it so unusual that planet fitness located in studio city is allowing this type of behavior. Most of the members that are using the gym workout machines are SLAMMING the weight plates extremely hard and very loud. Why is planet Fitness management allow gym members to be slamming the weight plates extremely hard and very loud??? To allow this is extremely unusual when other gym members are all looking at each other because its very loud hearing weight plates slamming continuously and slamming "intentionally" either to get attention or ego lifting, but its unacceptable 100% Planet Fitness management needs to approach these gym members and tell them to STOP slamming the weight plates on the gym machines. Start issuing "warnings" and tell those gym members to follow the gym rules. read more

After so much advertising and SO many bad gym experiences, I had exceedingly low expectations when I joined here, but Planet Fitness has SMASHED through them. I'm genuinely impressed by the facility, the variety of exercise equipment, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, and the reliability. Special shoutouts to Krys at the front desk for her constant positive attitude and to trainer Eli. I had read negative comments about trainers at other PF locations but Eli is the real deal -- I'm amazed at what he got me to do. The cardio machines have their own tvs however there are many that don't work . The staff is super friendly minus the repetitive yelling right before the gym closes. I get they want to go home, but it goes from hi welcome to get the f@&$ out near closing time! Should have known.... You get what you pay for. I came in for the first time and asked the front desk girl if I could activate my membership. She looked at me and spoke to me like I said the craziest thing ever. This gym is brand new and presold memberships online - so how could she NOT know exactly what I'm talking about? After explaining that I prepurchased my membership and haven't been in yet, she took my photo and said I have to download the app (really offputting to be forced to use an app to go into a place of business). She didn't care to explain the facility to me, didn't point me where anything is. Most of it you can see, obviously, but she could have at least pointed me into the direction of the locker rooms. Most unfriendly person ever In addition, I'm not sure who had the bright idea of putting the cardio equipt behind the strength machines and only 7ft behind them at that. If you use the butterfly machine and someone is on the cardio machine behind it, you're sitting face to face with the person. It's awkward and wasn't thought out. The cardio equipt should have been the two rows closest to the window and the strength machines should have been in the back. The gym is clean, but mostly because it's brand new. We will see how it looks in 6 months. The strength equipment has built in rep counters and timers- which is pretty cool, so it's a good value at $10/mo but I liken this gym to a chain hotel gym. While I definitely enjoyed my first gym session at this particular location earlier today, I was not too pleased about the size of the room on the inside, nor the fact that I was asked by the front desk to have my caregiver come all the way back from his truck and into the facility to wait for me while I showered after the workout. He has a black card membership and was the one who sent me an invite to be able to join him in the session, which was good. But I was not pleased about the fact that when I left after my workout to go and get my change of clothes from his car and attempt to shower once I got back inside, I was told by the front desk that if I didn't have a membership of my own, he had to supervise me. I feel this part of my experience was very discriminatory and not cool. Number one, because I'm a grown man. And number two, though I may be on the autism spectrum (which I most certainly am) that doesn't mean I need a guardian with me everywhere I go when I go out in public. The other local Planet Fitness locations in town that I went to with my caregiver didn't enforce this requirement on me. They were more lenient. Unless this location is able to do the same for me in the future, then I will not be coming back. They have the right to run the business the way they want to run it and I have the right to do the right thing and the right thing for me to do is not return if my expectations won't fully go in my favor. read more

I've been a member of Planet Fitness for 8 years. I'm so excited to have a planet fitness open close to my home. The negative reviews are just not cool. The best part of planet fitness is the price. That's the key factor to join. If money doesn't matter, then go to a more expensive gym with a pool and basketball court and raquet ball court. More amenities require more costs to upkeep. Planet fitness keeps it gym focused to keep costs down. This gym has all the amenities that I require in a gym. I want to work out and not break the bank. There's just enough here to exercise the way I want to exercise. What makes this planet fitness stand out from other planet fitness is the number of benches. I counted 15. It's a lot more weight oriented than machine oriented. So you can do more free weight exercises. Getting into the parking lot can be tricky because of traffic. But I never had an issue finding parking in their underground lot. The staff is super friendly for a planet fitness. Other planet fitness aren't as friendly. The gym is new so everything is nice and clean. The machines are all new too so it's nice to be in a clean new gym. The air conditioning is superb. I can't say enough about how much I love this gym and I'm so excited to call this gym my home base. read more

Really good little gym. Not a lot of options, but it has everything I need. Staff is great across the board. The bathrooms like every other gym can be an issue but that's more about the gym goers hygiene and entitlement than it is about the staff. My only real complaint is how gym goers use multiple machines at once, which makes other gym goers wait, and wait... Again, that comes down to the gym goers entitlement. I've been a member since 2023 and started coming to this location as soon as it opened. Difficult parking and bad drivers in the shopping center aside, I have had an overall positive experience here. The only issue I do have is security. I hesitated to post this review for a while, but I do want to warn people to be very careful when locking up any valuables in the locker rooms. Someone picked my lock a few months ago and I had my cash and credit cards stollen. I was lucky that they did not steal my car keys and ID. From then on, all valuables are locked up in the car and my keys are always on my person. I reported this right away and filed a police report so that the incident could be investigated. Everything has been resolved, but I never recieved any follow up from management. Not even so much as an update that the incident was being looked into. The staff that assisted me were amazing and empathetic. It would have been nice to have some follow up from management, and I would never expect any dues to be waived or anything like that. It would make me feel more comfortable if security was a bit tighter. At any time, someone looking to steal from the locker room could do so at any time. I've been to a few different PF gyms around the area, and I was required to stand in line and have a staff member scan me in. It took a few extra seconds, but it was worth the extra security measure. I'm sorry for the essay, but I would not want someone to go through what I did. I do still consider using a different gym or commuting a longer distance to feel slightly safer. I wish that I could give this location 5 stars because the staff is phenominal. read more

I did a few personal training sessions with him this week and it was some of the best workouts I ever did in my life. I switched from another location to this Planet Fitness when it first opened and it's absolutely incredible. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming and the Personal Trainer Eli is AWESOME. Within three months of coming to this location, they added three new machines, which was unheard of for me. I come here at least 4 times a week and it's never too crowded and the general ambiance and vibes are perfect. The only thing is that I wish they had a free-standing landmine machine. I just joined online because of their promotion that they had. Today was my first day going to Planet Fitness. I was very hesitant at first to join Planet fitness because of all the negative stereotypes that they have, such as "its not a real gym, limited equipments, you get what you paid for, the cheap membership attracts non serious people who don't want to work out and etc" those stereotypes are not true at all! When I first walked in today, the lady in the front desk was super friendly greeted me and helped me take my picture since I joined online, and she was so kind to show me around. The facility was super clean. For joining $1 for this month and $24.99 monthly after, I was amazed at how much this gym had to offer and it's half the price that I would be paying at other gyms. They had all the weight machines I like to use, there was a diverse clientele including the usual serious weight lifters, and people who are serious about their workout, which surprised me due to all the negative things I have heard about the planet fitness members. Had a great workout this morning, and I cannot wait to continue coming back. I am glad I joined Planet Fitness. read more

The staff is friendly enough but these guys refuse to turn on the air conditioning and that's not okay. Me and my friend were literally struggling to work out because it was so stuffy. I overheard one of the staffers say that they were cold and I thought to myself, then maybe you should work out or put a jacket on! Well, I am updating my review. Since my last review, I've been back a few times and noticed that the fresh air quality has diminished significantly which makes it difficult to complete a workout. You certainly shouldn't have to be concerned about fresh air not being circulated in the gym. Management really needs to make sure that the "air conditioner" is on and not just the fan. Having the unit on "fan only" in a crowded gym where people are working out, sweating, coughing, etc. does not make for a healthy, clean environment. Having the air conditioner on filters out the polluted air and provides fresh air. read more

Signed up before they opened because I loved the PF in my hometown. I went at least twice after they said they'd be open and they were not. Finally went today and not only is it tiny but the girl working the front desk didn't bother to give me a tour or even just point out where anything is. Seemed totally uninterested lmao. Stayed for about 10 minutes and immediately left. The ratio of men to women is insane. If you're a woman who doesn't feel comfortable being surrounded by men, don't come here.
