I really like the strength code. The trainers & staff are very nice. The equipment is clean and well maintained. The way that they structure the exercises really helps you get muscle activation and lift healthy. I have a tendency to get tendinitis and it scares me to do repetitive exercises because I don't want to get inflamed. The workouts at the strength code help me lift heavy with no pain. I also do calisthenics and some bodyweight workouts, and I feel that combining those with the lifting from the strength Code is really setting things off nicely. read more

I love doing their personal 1-on-1 training sessions & small semi-private group classes (with fun music!). I've trained with most of the trainers, who are all super-experts & truly awesome people. First: I got toned for my wedding in just weeks - I've always been a cardio person but I hit a plateau - after training at The Strength Code I was finally able to get to a new level of ability & physique. After having back surgery in September 2022, I looked for a trainer or facility that could me incorporate a sense of physical therapy into my exercise and build strength that I lacked before. I ended up finding Strength Code and chose Jon due to his experience with pre-existing injuries, and he has been a fantastic fit. When I started in May 2023, my max leg press weight was about 60lbs and within 2 months (or less?) - Jon got me back up to 200lbs. The slow-motion training really allows me to feel safe from repeating any past injuries. Furthermore, everyone there is always kind & encouraging. I've also had sessions with Wendy, who's fantastic, and Ann has always been incredibly helpful in responding to any of my email inquiries. The Strength Code has helped me get back into working out this year; I've been doing sessions with Ann and Jon and not only are they very knowledgable, but also easy to talk to and make the time fly by. The sessions are around 30min, but the equipment and movements are streamlined to make every minute count. I appreciate that the exercises are able to be modified for any pre-existing injuries that might limit certain movements. Wanted to follow up on Sheila's response to my review: 1. Sheila reinforced that the Strength Code is solely 1:1 workouts (with knowledgeable trainers, I might add). So this is absolutely something to consider when deciding to join this gym. 2. I disagree with Sheila's statement "weight loss is all about what you are eating". In my experience it is also about cardio. This gym offered none at the time I was there (although I've noticed they've added a stationary bike recently). I can confirm that adding cardio back into my routine absolutely helped me lose weight, and because I continue to lift, that weight loss has been mainly fat, not muscle. That said, watching your macro nutrients and calorie intake is another way to lose weight. And again, this gym is focusing on strength building not weight loss, which is what I went there for at the time. 3. I was on a 2x / wk plan at The Strength Code which, per their website, currently goes for $552. For a similar amount, I am getting 4 workouts in a week. 2 workouts are group classes, 2 are one-on-one with different trainers. So it is incorrect to assume I only do group classes. In my experience, group workouts can be more cost efficient and effective. That said, group classes aren't for everyone and injury can occur more easily in a group setting. 4. It is true that when I had classes to make up, I finally figured out to go down to a 1x/week membership in order to fit in my make-up sessions. I don't think this is a great way to work this issue out with your clients, but Sheila is correct in saying that is an option. 5. Sheila is correct that the workouts are only 30 minutes - a true help if you are pressed for time. However, I believe the statement "Our workout is not for everyone, especially if you enjoy working out for hours every week" is misleading. 3 of my weekly workouts are an hour, 1 is a half hour so I spend 3.5 hours working out per week, when I only spent 1 hr / wk at Strength Code. One way to look at this is I'm spending more time on exercise, another way is to point out I'm getting a lot more bang for my buck. Especially when you factor in that my workouts are now more well-rounded. But for those who truly don't like spending time in a gym or are extremely time pressed, SC is a great option. 6. I did experience a pulled muscle while working out at The Strength Code that came from me not properly using one of the machines. It was ultimately not a big deal and after giving it some rest and adjusting my technique, the problem resolved itself. I'll trust Sheila on her statistics that less than 1% report getting an injury there. read more

I was first introduced to this place by the owner Sheila during a local chamber mixer. To be completely honest, I was not sold on the concept of the whole system of their workout until she told me to try 2 sessions for free and make my decision after the second workout session. So I made my appointment with Trainer Joseph for an early Sunday morning workout where I had extra time in hand to ask questions and relay my concerns. Joseph is a thru professional, he loves what he does and it really reflects on the workout. I had my 2nd free session last Saturday again with Joseph, he really watches your movements and your capabilities, and he knows when to challenge you. After Saturdays workout I knew this is what I needed to keep my body tuned, so needless to say I joined in to go 2 days a week. I bought a groupon, and had my first appointment at The Strength Code in Toluca Lake. I give it 5 stars because I felt that I was given a wonderful and through orientation by Joseph. He explained everything I was doing and why, and he made sure I was using the correct form on all machines. Additionally, he answered all my questions, and further explained when I didn't understand the first time. I enjoyed trying the equipment and JOSEPH was very nice and personable. This is a good place to work out. I love the fact that it's not a fast pace workout, it's a take your time. The trainer is very helpful. Inform Fitness Toluca Lake is a great facility, always very clean, comfortable and VERY welcoming...The workout is very safe while being amazingly effective. What is the "Power of 10"? It is slow motion, high-intensity exercise which is an incredibly efficient and safe method of weight training that you do once a week, for just twenty minutes. Yes, that's right. ONCE A WEEK FOR TWENTY MINUTES! Cardio is great, but when it comes down to it, muscle is key to discriminate fat loss and building a stronger, healthier body. What makes InForm Fitness different? The facilities trainers are ALL Power of 10 certified and their machines are top notch! These MedX and Nautilus machines are the "Rolls Royce" of exercise equipment...they provide smooth movements with no friction, giving you a maximum workout. Before finding InForm Fitness, my friend Joseph Altamirano used to train me using the Power of 10 method at traditional gyms (meaning 24 Hour Fitness in which half the time I'm waiting for subpar machines that need maintenance) and there is no comparison here!! Let's put it this way: It's hard to go back to regular cuts of steak after having Filet Mignon!!! I am a believer!!! At first I was skeptical about a workout that you only have to do for twenty minutes once a week and getting the same results as going to the gym five days a weeks for hours at a time. Luckily for me, Joseph kept telling me about it. Finally, one day I said let me try it and I was instantly hooked! I transfer, lift, and move patients all the time, which takes a huge toll on my back. Since starting the Power of 10, my back has been feeling stronger and less painful. There have been a few times I've skipped a workout, and when I do, I feel the difference. I feel more flabby and my back starts to bother me. But after an intense workout, I feel stronger with little to no back pain! I love the fact that I only do this once a week! Don't get me wrong, I'm not against working out, but who has the time or energy to be at the gym five to ten hours a week?! I'd rather spend that time with my loved ones and doing what I enjoy. One of my nursing friends suggested I try "CrossFit", but I said my workout is more time efficient with maximum results and much safer...why would I want to injure myself doing "CrossFit"? I think we all know at least one person who suffered some injury from doing that kind of workout. Don't schedule your life around the gym. My friend started working with Linda Cole and right before my eyes I saw a transformation that was amazing...! Inform fitness is a workout like I have never experienced. I have played football and have done many online workout programs and I have never felt a burn like I experienced in this short 30 min workout regimen. Another crazy thing is that the workout and the burn I experienced produced no sweat. All my muscles were brought to failure and I was still able to go out and eat without feeling sweaty and stinky. The ladies @ InForm Fitness are well trained at kicking your butt! A local destination without the madness of driving to a 24 Hour/Ballys,etc and have to deal with parking/waiting turns to get on machines and utilize weights. Im not a gym rat by any means but a 30 min workout here with direct instruction is sufficient enough that works if you stay with it. The workout also offers a calming environment too without the excessive noise/sensory overload a super gym has. If you value time efficiency with results its worth it to try this place . read more

I am so addicted to this workout! I found myself getting stronger and more fit in just weeks - the progress makes you want to keep going back.
