Sometimes u have to move on, I think I have reached this status now. When I first came here 8 years ago, I was impressed. Good service from the front desk and the dentist. For the past 2-3 years it has been à la carte. U would think the same older females at the front desk would know my name by now...not even the dr. I have referred friends/family here. I see they know other patients' names when they arrive. Hmmm. Maybe it's due to me having basic work done(cleanings) and not here for bridges, canals, braces...basically not a money maker. The dental assistants have changed and not for the better. 1 wants to lecture me on my teeth, brushing habits and the other can't pronounce my name and blames it on her ethnicity, huh? The dentist comes in for a minute and doesn't seem friendly or concerned that I was even there. Those are valid reasons to move on then to continue to patronize this place. I started seeing Dr. Moss back in 2003 per a referral from a coworker. I absolutely enjoyed going to his office and years later started taking my kids to him. My children even loved going to the dentist. Just here recently, I was complaining of some pain with my molar after he replaced my filling. I kept going back because nothing he suggested worked; brush with Sensodyne, wear a mouth guard. He completely started to overlook my concern. Months later I developed an infection from a cracked tooth (that his hygienist had identified and he said was normal "stress cracks"), my lip and chin went numb with tingling. Ultimately, I had to have the tooth pulled and treated with two rounds of antibiotics. Then another few months later I had to have another tooth pulled. Now, I have a bone infection (osteomyelitis) which I have to get treated for six weeks with IV antibiotics. I am upset that he did not refer me to a periodontist or endodontist to further investigate my pain and discomfort. Of course, me and my family are not seeing him anymore and on top of all that his office had the nerve to deny me a copy of my medical records. read more

After visiting a few dentists in the city and getting quoted $10-15K for work I wasn't even sure I needed, I decided to go back to Dr. Moss, my childhood dentist. It was the best decision. He's not going to recommend procedures you don't need, and he's not going to charge you an arm and a leg for the ones you do. He explains things clearly, makes sure you're comfortable, and truly cares about doing what's best for his patients. It's rare to find someone in this field who's highly skilled, genuinely trustworthy, and a Marist grad. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Moss for years. Multiple members of my family also go to Dr. Moss. He has always been professional and has solved many issues I have had because of the radiation treament in 2014. I went to Moss a few years ago to have my tooth worked on because it had cracked in half, he was supposed to do a root canal and instead he just put on a crown. Since then my tooth has never been the same and it continues to hurt. Looking back on my experience I remember not liking his demeanor or for that matter anybody else in his employ. He didn't strike me as being very professional either because of the amateurish way he went about diagnosing my problem. He asked me if my tooth still hurt, to which I replied no and then he miraculously came to the conclusion I needed a crown, no ex-ray nothing! He didn't explain anything or say a word, he was just like a robot and acted like I was on an assembly line! Another thing I didn't like was his grumpy front desk receptionist which was the same one called out on in another review. I remember her lashing out at me and another patient because she supposedly couldn't hear someone on the phone. We were neither loud or boisterous, but she felt she had to scream at us to get her point across. Really a rude person if you ask me! And in all my years of going to a dentist I've never experienced this kind of treatment before from a dentist or a receptionist! Later when I relayed my experience to my now dearly departed mother she told me she stopped going to him because of his attitude and wound up going to somebody else in Oak Lawn. I wish I knew that earlier because I wouldn't have gone to him in the first place! Bad customer service all around, more like disservice. I recently left this dentist office after years of dental care. I had a full X-ray done in December when I got a teeth cleaning and had raised concern of a possible boil or abscess on my gum above a root canal performed by Dr. Moss in 2015. I asked for him to check to see if it was infected and he told me the white bump was just the root canal healing..... fast forward to March of this year I made an appointment with another dentist, a endodonist, and a oral surgeon who all confirmed the tooth was in fact infected! I just had the tooth pulled. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in the overlooking of a concern that I had as infection in the tooth can be fatal. Trust your gut about your health and keep making appointments until you feel like someone takes you seriously. I hope that this office pays more attention to X-rays in the future vs moving patients through like a assembly line. read more

Was there to make an appointment after googling closest locations to me. As the address was not visible to me and I noticed there was 2 dental offices 1 building from each other. I was unsure which one was the office I wanted to make an appointment at. I pulled into the parking lot to walk to the front of the building and see if the dentist names were visible and as I walked toward the front of the building a lady comes out form the back of the building yelling that I couldn't park there. Not once did she ask if I was there for the dentist or if I needed help finding something. Then she has the nerve to tell me I clearly can't read the signs in the lot. Completely ignorant. Definitely not a people person especially for working the front desk. She should consider resigning or working as an assistant where she would have to speak less.
