My previous ENT just prescribed me antibiotics...for an entire year. I was getting so desperate that I found Dr. Fakhri through a medical journal search. he is a faculty member at UT Houston, as well as a practicing physician, and he has conducted significant research in Head/Neck issues. I sent him an email explaining my symptoms and he e-mailed me back the SAME NIGHT. a SUNDAY. that doesn't usually happen.... The first time I saw him he immediately diagnosed the problem, and had me in surgery to fix it within a week. I felt an instantaneous improvement and I am so grateful that I found this doctor. My quality of life improved drastically. He is extremely friendly and personable and will go out of his way to make sure you're getting the care you need. If you are experiencing severe sinus issues, I highly recommend Dr. Fakhri. He is toats worth the drive to the med center!!

What Dr. George Fisher and countless other ENT's couldn't do........ .....Dr. Fakhri did. I would have never met Dr. Fakhri had it not been for Dr. Bechhara Ghorayeb. Having been to a multitude of allergists and ENT specialists, the conclusion at least for me was that I was seen more as a "client" - not a patient. Merely relegated to someone to keep checking in every three months to pay for the office visit and be given prednisone. Just a routine customer. Hey it's all about repeat business, right? That all changed after a visit with Dr. Ghorayeb. My sense of taste and smell gone, he concluded I needed surgery to remove polyps that had created nearly 100% blockage in one of my nostrils. "But I've already had 2 surgeries for that, " I informed him. "Hmmmm this is a very delicate area in which to have repeat surgeries," he said, "And I'm afraid I won't be able to attempt yet another one." "But aren't you an ENT?", I asked. "Yes," he replied "but you'll need to see a specialist capable of navigating through something so delicate. Remember this area is incredibly close to your brain and eyes." He took his cell phone out and made a quick call right there while under his care. "When you go back up to the front, the receptionist will have an address and phone number to someone I suggest you see." The difference maker to me is Dr. Fakhri took a personal interest in my issue and made it a point to not prescribe yet another panacea to keep me coming back over and over. He inquired about my previous surgeries and I noticed surgery wasn't what he wanted me to go though but it might be needed. He tried every measure to prevent that but to make a long an already long story short - surgery was needed. The result was fantastic. And I'm happy to report I'm off all medications with the exception of being treated with aspirin and only 1 rinse a day of warm water mixed with Neil Med sinus rinse and montelukast powder. That's it. That's the maintenance. No longer am I a walking medicine cabinet. Since 2010, I can smell. I can taste. Even seasonal allergy flare ups are RARE. Life is good. So I don't know who to thank - Dr. Ghorayeb or Dr. Fakhri Did he change my life? You tell me.

Tuesday 5/19/15 Had my first allergy appointment and it went…read morevery well! I was pleased with the service and left well informed. I was looking for allergy doctors through my insurance and Dr. Rihal was one that showed up under the doctors that were in the network. The facility, West Houston Allergy & Asthma was only 20 minutes away from my home, so I chose it. Making an appt was very easy. In fact, easier than most. I made an appt 2 weeks ahead of time and the receptionists were extremely helpful. They explained the procedures of what an allergy test consists of and how a patient would get assessed. And after making my appt, they asked if I had a computer and working internet so that I could easily print out the new patient information to fill out and just have it ready. I ended up faxing my new patient forms. I also called a couple days afterwards to make sure they received it. And surely enough, they did. I also made sure to ask how much my visit would be, because apparently an allergy test can cost up to $750. Ouch. I kid you not, it seriously costs that much. At first, coming to my appt, I was a little lost since there's like 3 medical buildings next to each other. There's St. Catherine's, Medical Plaza I, and Medical Plaza II. One way I knew I was at the right place, was that the buildings had the address on it. They are in Medical Plaza I. But walking in, I was still lost, so I called the office asking where to go. Again, receptionists were very nice and helped me in finding my way to the office. Came into the office, didn't have to fill in paper work cause I faxed it (WOHOO), and waited about 10 minutes in the waiting room. My appt was supposed to be at 2:30 but because I was a little lost, that took some time. I was called in, brought into the room and did assessments, such as getting weight, temperature, blood pressure... Etc all that taken care of and the medical assistants/receptionists were very gentle and nice. Dr. Rihal came in and greeted me. He was very welcoming and asked what my reason for coming in. I told him that I thought I was allergic to cats and he was very knowledgeable about what happens. He also asked if I had any skin conditions to maybe see what could cause my allergies. I told him that I have a huge spot of eczema on my back. And what I really like about this doctor is that he brought in a female staff member in the room while looking at my back to ensure that I would be okay and comfortable, since he was lifting up my shirt. I did an allergy test. I actually didn't get pricked, or had patches. I actually had this method used where they dipped a small tube filled with allergens and did a little scratch on both of my arms. It actually didn't hurt. It really just felt like a scratch. After they do that, they tell you not to scratch for 20 minutes, so that they could assess you on what you're reacting to the most. And let me tell you, I started reacting, and I wanted to scratch so bad. The medical assistants would check to on me every 5 minutes to see how I'm doing and then after 20 minutes, Dr. Rihal came in to assess me on what was happening. He explained everything thoroughly and informed me about all the allergens that could cause my sneezing, mucous, and itchiness. He gave me samples to take home to help see if this is the medication that would help. For my first appt, I came out feeling informed knowing what allergies I have and how to treat it. The staff at West Houston Allergy & Asthma were caring, gentle, and nice. You don't get that often at doctors offices, but at this particular facility, I did. I left happy and feeling pretty good. I have a 6 month appt coming up, you bet I'll be coming back!

They tested a basic 75 prick skin test. Didn't hurt at all, the painful part was when you were having an allergic reaction. The staff was really kind when working with them. Wait time was probably about 20 minutes but that's common for all doctors. Good thing is tests were covered by insurance. After they saw my results they gave me prescribed medication and the doctor gave me choices for future medication. He is very informative which I love most of all. Couldn't tell you the price of the tests since they were covered by insurance, so you should be fine if you have United Healthcare . Other than that I'd check to see if your covered, they get expensive.

It has all the new bells and whistles, and he was overwheImed by it. I called the office to let them know he needed a less complicated machine, but Elizabeth asked if we could come in and let her guide him through using it and after, if we still wanted to change, they would proceed forward. I just wanted to take a moment to share how impressed we were with her today. She was so nice while helping my husband learn his CPAP machine. From the moment we walked in, she was patient, had such a positive attitude, and was incredibly knowledgeable. She broke everything down in a way that made the entire process feel simple instead of overwhelming. She didn't rush a single step -- she made sure my husband understood not just what to do, but why each part of the setup mattered. Her calm confidence and positive attitude made such a difference. Because of Elizabeth, we were able to keep the new CPAP machine. It's rare to meet someone who combines technical expertise with that level of kindness, patience, and clarity. We left feeling supported, informed, and genuinely cared for. We are so grateful to Elizabeth for the time and attention she gave us.

I recommend trying to schedule ahead as he typically is booked, but I have been able to make same day appointments which has been a huge relief for me. The location is pretty nice for me as well since it is not in a busy area so I can always get to and from the office without having to deal with tons of traffic. This office has ample parking and the other offices in this complex also offer services that I might be interested in too. The office for West Houston ENT & Sleep Center is very clean nice seating area and always a great selection of music playing while you wait. This place could get 10 stars if I was able to!

Dr Patel didn't even know what was going on. As soon as she did, she fixed it. She was so kind. it's the customer service disconnect. That customer service wall... the answering service... i absolutely hate how disconnected people have become from the service they are receiving. Losing Main Street was the worst thing that could happen to customer service. HORRIFIC TREATMENT. 52 years old- Tonsillectomy A tonsillectomy is brutal at my age. The pain medication they prescribed was not in stock for two days during days 5 and 6 post-op, arguably the beginning of the most painful days. I broke into tears with the answering service because the staff never answers and did not respond back to me, as soon as I started crying, they hung up on me. Imagine cutting out parts of a person and hanging up on them because they are crying in pain. So here I am, day 2 in agony with a prescription that the pharmacy can't fulfill cuz they're out of stock and can't transfer because it's level 2. Absolutely uncaring, heartless people.

Obviously, he is a busy doctor (and I would never expect him to remember me, my personal situation, etc after not seeing him for 3 years), but he must have reviewed my file before entering the exam room. He walked in recapping my visit from 3 years ago. I had forgotten much of what was discussed the previous visit, so it was helpful for me to hear it again. I was visibly nervous. I knew my sinuses were going to be examined since I had been battling a terrible infection for over a month. I was not looking forward to those orifices being poked due to sensitivity. Dr. M was very gentle and explained everything in good detail. I had a nose scope done during my visit. The procedure does not hurt, it is just weird having something go up your nose. I was anxious and hesitant. Dr. M stopped several times to let me take a breath and get comfortable again. That was so helpful. I feel like he really cares about his patients. To be fair, I am a nervous Nelly. The anticipation of the exam is always worse than the actual exam. However, I appreciate Dr. M not getting impatient with me. That would have only made it worse. For me, trust is earned through patience shown and delicately handling my situation. I am going back for a sinus x-ray today. They do them in house which is nice because the location of his office is very convenient. They have a great parking garage too. I went into Dr…read moreMcCutcheon's office with the concern that I may need to have my tonsils removed due to getting strep multiple times every year. He swabbed me for mono and they insisted that the deductible would be $800 to send it to the lab....that my insurance covers 100% of. I refused to have the swab sent into the labs and one of the staff members had an attitude with me because it was almost like I "wasted" their time. On top of that, a camera was used on my nose and I was charged an additional $200 without being notified of the extra cost which they filed as a surgery under my insurance. Dr McCutcheon only speaks in medical terms that only another doctor would understand and anytime you ask what is going on, I felt like I was being treated like a kid. After years of pain and strep, I still have no answers. I DO NOT recommend this doctor unless you have no problem spilling out what could have been an extra $1000 dollars on top of my co-pay. Totally feel ripped off.

This is the most inefficient office I have ever encountered. I called to make an appointment and…read morewas told that their office does not verify insurance information. I have been to over 20 doctors for medical problems and every single office will verify insurance. I told the office that the doctor was in network according to my insurance. But they said I still needed to call my insurance to double check if the insurance will actually cover it. So I call my insurance and the insurance company says "do you have the codes for me to input so I can check?" What codes? What the hell is he talking about? He says the codes and all the information that insurance companies need would be information the doctor's office would generally have. This isn't patient information. This is why he doesn't like it when doctor's offices won't call themselves to verify. This is why doctor's offices SHOULD AND DO call insurance and verify themselves. I was the told I needed to call the doctor's office to get the codes and the insurance company call back. Seriously?! Why should a patient ever need to be the third person who is going between doctor office who has doctor information such as codes for procedures and the insurance? Almost every other doctor and doctor's office I have ever been to does that for the patients!! Needless to say ONE HOUR LATER I cancelled my appt bc I was essentially told by the insurance that bc they don't have the codes from the doctor's office for my procedure, I won't know whether or not my appt will be covered.
