It's a motel 7- upgraded - I've been staying here before motel six bought this place and it was a clarion - you used to to used those hotel apps to get this place for 40 bucks a night since motel 6 bought it's 100 unless you got company promo or find something online which will knock off a couple bucks- this last run I've been here on and off for over 9 months and I have not found anything within the area that meets or exceeds this place for the price for some reason the area down here thinks it high class and over charges everyone... I have a great time with all the receptionist and they do get busy so don't get frustrated and wait- also make sure you have a reservation this place gets full by 3-4 on a Monday - the trims all have wood floors and updated - the bed for me it great - I like a firm mattress- one issue I have is not so much the hotel it's the people that stay here- a lot of ppt heads and night people - do beware of the that - and I've never seen security do anything but sit behind that wall- I had one situation that my welding leads got stolen off my truck and hotel cannot give out the videos but if a sheriff comes by then they can - guess what tax paying money never got the sheriffs there---- I'm out 2k now/ j think it was a truck driver - the truck drivers that stay here have no consideration for other hotel stayers they park wherever they want and block all security cameras in the process- so it's either the drivers that stole my stuff or one car that cruised through at that time- they have a lot of rooms to clean everyday so check out time yes is 11 but that can vary if your nice - pool is clean always and they just put in artificial turf - and it looks like they are upgrading to build a better bbq area- right now it's a coal barrel bbq- read more

Terrible customer service... We booked a non smoking room and that's not what we got .we arrived and our room not only was smelly and disgusting and stinky of cigarettes and smoke and our clothes hair and luggage smelled after that and the sheets smelled there were also ashtrays in the room so when we complained about it they could care less so don't go there! There are plenty of other Motel 6 's every few miles don't even bother going there , they could care less if you and up with a headache...there were also old smelly socks left behind from somebody else hanging off the shelf so apparently the room was not even cleaned-other Motel 6's we've stayed in were very nice like Napa, but not this one ...drive-by this one and don't even stop ! it's disgusting! read more

I now know that I've been taking many things in hotels for granted. After a 6 hour flight and a long ride to here, the first room that I went in didn't have a functioning door lock! I changed the room and decided to take a shower just to find out that there is no shampoo here! They sell the shampoo and shaving cream for $2 each and only accept cash. Just imagine a place so cheap that just to reduce the nightly rate by $4, they do such things stupid things. They basically don't have any one to bring things to your door. To change my keys, to get my delivery food and to go and ask for shampoo I had to walk to the front desk three times. The floor is sticky becuase of all the unwashed dirt on the hard wood, but again, no slippers anywhere in the room. I paid almost $100 for one night in this crap hole, and I wouldn't stay here for a night even if they don't charge me a nd give me $100 (well, I probably will but I'm really mad right now). So, yeah, do yourself a favor and skip this one. read more

My room was in the back building. There was no secure entry to the building. The doors to the building are unlocked all night and day. Whatever card reader that was there before does not exist anymore, just an empty hole with wires coming out of it. I felt disgusted walking down the old, filthy looking, cigarette smelling hallway. Ugh! Thank God the room was nothing like the hallways. It was clean. Phew! 2 beds, a table and 2 chairs, and a mini fridge. Kept my drinks and leftover pizza nice and cold. That was nice. I was disappointed there was no hairdryer nor an iron. Towels in the bathroom were very minimal- 2 towels for 3 people. Good thing I brought one. I had asked them for another towel on the morning following my first night and when they cleaned my room later that day, they left only 2 towels. No coffee maker, just 4 plastic cups and a container for ice. They didn't even bother giving me a new plastic bag for my ice container after my 2nd day, nor did they replace the plastic cups I had used and tossed. Am I going to stay here again? I might if they give me a room in the main building because the hallway there looked a lot cleaner and smelled nicer than the rat hole in the back. It helped that the room was clean. After spending a night at a hotel in Tijuana that was cheaper, a lot cleaner and nicer and with more amenities and towels than this place, it makes me wish I hadn't cancelled my reservation at the Renaissance hotel near LAX. Good location across from the mall. Lots of stores, restaurants, and right off of the 405 highway. read more

Awesome for the price and ease of location off the 405. This is the most European style motel I have ever seen in the US. Very clean big rooms with nice fake hardwood floors, comply beds, little fridges and microwaves. It is missing some things Americans are used to like shampoos, an iron, a hair dryer or plusher towels. All in all, clean, price perfect for the area and nice. read more

100 starts for this location! I am so happy with this Hotel. Staff was super friendly provided great customer service, especially coming from the manager. SHE ROCKS!!!!! I lost my phone 2 weeks ago, I was going crazy I started tracking my phone online and noticed that they kept going back to the hotel. I called the manager and yes I was being a little pain in the butt for the moment I guess it was just cuz I was frustrated a little bit. She asked me to give her time and she will contact me before she leaves. She called me but I didn't answer because I was working. I called back and she was gone for the day I was like damn ok I guess no phone for me tonight and just make a claim through sprint, but the lady told me all you have to do is bring a valid ID I was in stuck mode for a minute like wait for what, I asked she found my phone? She responded yes! I was so happy I jumped of the chair took my lunch break and rushed to the hotel. I was so happy to get my phone back. I don't know how she managed to get my phone back bu what ever she did I was so glad she went out of her way to help met, when it was not her responsibility to look for my phone!!! She is awesome!!! Best manager ever!!! Hopefully one day she becomes more than just a manager because she definitely deserves it. read more

Motel 6 does not provide complementary shampoo/ conditioner. So, if you decide to stay at motel 6 pack shampoo. Towels are small. About 1/3 of cable channels snowy. Knowing this now, I won't book motel 6 in the future. read more

I been with motel 6 for sence february2018.. I check out every 27 days for three days then I come right back to motel 6 I will never go to any other motel 6 .. because is hard to find good friendly clean just all above amazing .. the staff at motel 6 is ten stars motel ********** . the manger liz . WOW...love this motel. The room was amazing. This is not your typical Motel 6. They are renovating now but it is still super clean and quiet. I will stay here everytime I am in town from now on. I also love the idea that my dogs get to stay for free. They also loved the huge room. It is right across the street from the mall and anything you would want to eat is within walking distance. Started off as good until my wallet was stolen out of my room. When I told the front dest she was very nonchalant about it. I was really disappointed cause when ever any of my family come to Long Beach we recommended the Clarion which is was before it became Motel 6. Don't have to worry about that anymore will never stay at the hotel again and I have told all my family members the same. I hate to give this hotel up cause it is nice with all the upgrades but I cannot stay where the housekeeping staff cannot be trusted. My credit card that was stolen was shown that a cash advance was trying to be made somewhere on Avalon st which is the right down the street. Liz , Marvin and the entire staff at motel 6 in Carson are by far the best. Very clean hospitable, rooms are nice size and price is right plus pets stay free! Place is almost always booked solid. I recommend this motel to all my friends and family be smart and book ahead. read more

Worst night EVER! I regret that you have to give it one star, as it doesn't even deserve that! I stayed here with my wife and three children. First off there is all the construction going on, which prevented us from using any of the facilities outside of the room. The room itself was tiny and very sparse. 2 beds, small table 2 chairs fridge, microwave and wall mounted T.V. Next the faux-hard wood linoleum floors make a lot of noise when being walked upon. The fridge was noisy and had one of its legs bent, so that it leaned and tilted when you opened the door. It was so noisy that I had to unplug it to be able to sleep. Making it useless. The microwave looked like it hadn't been cleaned since new, and was missing one of the knobs, making it useless. The WiFi service was slower than dial-up. The towels were very threadbare and nonabsorbent. Also there weren't enough towels for us either, and the ones that were there were child sized. The pillows on the bed were small square pillows and flatter than a pancake, even though the cleaning person had tried to 'fluff' them up, all this did was make them look misshapen. The bed itself was very uncomfortable to sleep on too! The room wasn't even cleaned properly too, as I found trash under the bed. Considering how sparse the room was, I'm amazed the cleaning people missed this! The walls a literally paper thin, and we could hear everything going on in the adjoining rooms and out in the hall - to wit the other residents, whom couldn't keep quiet and were obviously very drunk! We decided to spend most of our time in the area over the road in the large shopping mall, just to avoid having to go back to the room! Fortunately construction resumed at 7:00 the next morning, so we had an alarm to wake us so we could get the heck out of there! At least the T.V. worked. read more

OMG! I have never been in a hotel like this, I have been in several motel 6 but not like what I have experience from this location in Carson California. When we checked in while waiting for my turn there are 3 people on the desk complaining about their room. but I just ignored it. To make a story short I got the key to my room and on the way to the room I saw big dogs on the hall way and the dark hallway smells like cigar when I got to my room, our bathroom is not working and it smells like someone just took a shit in our bathroom so I called the desk and found out our phone is not working so I have to walk all the way front desk and told them, they send someone to fix the bathroom and the phone, the bathroom got fixed but I have to make sure I hold the flush all the way so all water will flush but the phone they cant fixed it. Even they fixed our toilet the odor are so strong , smell like a sewer, Grrrrr I just packed my stuff and left. This place is a roach hotel. Avoid staying here read more

My stay here was a decent one. The room I had was a non-smoking,single King - size room with recent upgrades. I must say it was more than I expected to say the least. The room was clean for one. There was a flat screen TV with cable, hard wood floors, a microwave, mini fridge, and a AC/ Heat unit that worked. My room was relatively quiet the second night compared to the first. I must add the housekeeping staff / security guard was friendly and professional. The cons: a bit loud from other guests, no ironing board ( I had brought my own iron), and the blanket on the bed had cigarette holes. Other than the minor things - the property was okay to say the least. The property is located near the 405 freeway. It is directly across the street from the mall and there are plenty of restaurant options within a short walking distance. I will probably stay here again due to the affordability. Mind you as a guest there are trade offs between the pros and the cons when staying at a hotel or motel.. Everybody's experience is different. read more
