My sister and I was mopping the floor with the towels that they provided for us to be able to shower the towels were black The next morning I went to give the key and the owner was yelling at me because I was smoking in the room last night when I came to book the room because of the storm outside I asked for a room with 2 beds and a smoking room. The clerk gave us a key card and booked a smoking room. The owner was there in the morning.., he was extremely rude. My phones battery was dead. I went to get a charger. That is when i saw that the owner charged me an extra charge of $150 When I called and asked how he came up with that amount ? He said that he didn't care about the credit card companies. I want to give a decent review for a motel that typically gets a bad rap, the motel 6. This particular location in North Olmsted is "in the suburbs" but don't be fooled, you're still at a motel 6. Day 2 of our stay, a door was being kicked in by US Marshalls. That kinda thing honestly doesn't bother me- hey it's 6AM and I'm pretty sure my day is already off to a better start than his. The rooms are nice- basic, CLEAN, recently remodeled... No complaints. Mini fridge, sink, microwave. The owners are pleasant; even though I had a problem with one of their rules, I'd still say they are nice, decent owners just trying to run a business. My issue was, I asked that housekeeping NOT clean our room during our 5 night stay. I come with my own towels, etc, and I just don't want anyone in my room. Yet I'd come back in the evening to find they'd been in the room. They even left a sticky-note saying 'please tidey up' I have a pre-teen daughter. There's clothes and makeup on the floor. Doesn't bother me- didn't I ask that housekeeping not come in the room?? At the front desk I was informed it's "policy" to enter each room daily and "sweep the floors" - at this point I put my own sticky-note on the door that said "housekeeping: please do not disturb" I've never stayed at a motel/hotel that didn't offer the privacy of not being disturbed. People keep different hours. Not everyone is ready or willing to have housekeeping sweep the floors at 11AM. In the end, the owners would not allow me to extend my stay because I would not follow policy. Ok, so be it. Yet I'm still writing them a decent review, because they do offer a clean, reasonably priced room. Bottom line- you're still at a motel 6. It's not the greatest deal in the world, but it worked for us for a week. It's clean. It's remodeled. No weird smells, stains, etc read more

I regretted the very moment I walked into the lobby (I booked via expedia after copiously reading reviews and examining pictures) and the clerk did not acknowledge my being a guest because she was talking on her personal phone. Told whomever "hold on, I'm checking someone in." Clearly I was just a bother, not a paying customer. Got to room 236. AC/heater unit barely recognizable or functional and the unmarked knobs were greasy for some reason. Holy shit that was so gross. Room smelled bad and abundant cigarette burns on bedding, toilet, tub, chair - everywhere. I have had so many great experiences at Motel 6 across the country due to their huge renovations - clean and amazing rooms but this one was just disgusting. I have pictures but yelp has stopped allowing posting of them for some reason. Stay away. Go to the Super 8 in Strongsville a few miles away. It's a dump, but a good dump for sorta cheap. Tons of cable channels, quiet and clean. Better clientele as well. Oh also stay away from the Days Inn next door to this M6. It is just so insanely dirty and noisy. The good: This motel is just about $40 so it's easy on the wallet; it's close to the freeway, and there are a lot of restaurants in walking distance. The bad: Don't expect much for your $40. The front desk staff is average to poor, the ice machine doesn't work, there were long hairs on the sheets and towels, there was a large area of the carpet by the sink that was soaked & squishy, you've got to pay for Internet access, there were stains on the headboard; the credit card system was down so we had to find a nearby ATM in order to pay cash since they wanted all of our stay paid in advance when we checked in. Suggestion: This place is not for those who want a cheap AND clean place. You get one or the other. LOL If you want to spend a bit more money, there are at least 4 other motels next door or across the street from here. read more

Checked in around midnight from a long day of traveling. The room was minimally clean but I was exhausted so I thought I could manage for a night. About half an hour later a cracked out man decided to come persistently knock on my door and try to get in, along with the room next door. Then! I decided to check for bed bugs, and what do you know? Maroon/brownish clusters on the underside of the mattress. I went to the front desk and the girl wouldn't do anything. Only explained that it's policy for terminX to come and prove if it was true or not before issuing a refund. After dealing with the GM, and determining somehow I was wrong, I could not get my money back. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Do not stay here!! read more

Our room being on the 2nd floor we have to walk up the only stairway on the front of the building. Our room is all the way at the end which means we get the luxury of seeing the extremely rusty stairs paired well the the untouchable rusty handrail. As we walk the long walk to our room I notice a very dry and winding stain that appears to have come from a leaky trash bag. No telling how long it's been there. Finally we get to our room. Open the door and the stench of stale cigarettes mixed with old AC unit and cleaning chemicals hits you. It's a non-smoking room but obviously that means nothing which is apparent by the random cigarette burns we found throughout the room. The hard wood-looking laminate floor seems to be there for the appearance of higher quality or maybe just to make the room look bigger. All it really does is make me not want to walk barefoot in the room because of the apparent dirt and dust bunnies that seem to be made of lost pubes. The bed is average size but when laid on each and every spring creaks and moans making it difficult to sleep soundly. It's also lumpy due to some of those springs protruding up into the mattress. Pull down the blanket to reveal a softer blanket which is nice. Pull that down to reveal a burlap, or possibly 20 thread count sheet. There's no way I'm laying under that one so I decide to lay on the sheet under the one high point of the experience so far; the soft blanket. Did I mention the cigarette burns on the headboard and dinged up nightstand? The bathroom is small and the toilet is so low to the ground that it seems to be for a child. Looking left I see the tub/shower which while upon first inspection looks clean but later reveals some of those cigarette burns and mold. It's only so long before I need to use the toilet, unfortunately a necessary evil. The seat has chipped paint that makes it look dirty and when I lift the seat to urinate I find dried urine from another guest. Blech. The flush is very slow and deliberate and makes me think it's going to overflow but luckily everything goes down as hoped. The shower in the morning is another adventure. The curved shower rod, installed to create the appearance of more space, is bent downward making the curtain slide inward from both sides. It's been like this for quite some time which is apparent by the water stains on the walls in certain places. The shower head is placed in just the right spot so a person 5'6" has to duck slightly. Someone taller will definitely enjoy that. The floor is uneven and seems to be a cover. Not only is it uneven but dipped and creaks quite loudly just like the bed. My wife is showering right now and I can tell when she moves because a loud groan escapes the bathroom every minute or so. Please note my wife is 5'10" and about 130 lbs so just about anyone will experience the groan. Now to the drain which has to have years of surprises down there because the water just does not want to drain out of the tub. We are leaving as soon as possible since this has been by far the worst hotel stay I've ever had. You truly do get what you pay for and at $69 something with tax, you just don't get much. It looks like the renovations have been completed at this Motel 6. We stayed there for several nights due to a convention in town. Nicer hotel rooms don't mean a thing if you ask to have your room made up (when it wasn't done) & was promised it would be (but, it never was). Plus, because it is wintertime, our hardwood floor had salt & stuff all over them due to our boots. So, it was even more dirty looking. We stayed in room 120, no roaches. But, I did hear a dog bark a few doors down from us in the middle of the night. Maybe the next time we attend a convention in the area, we'll try one of the hotels around there instead. My buddies and I stayed there the second weekend of August for a convention and I was extremely disappointed. Not only did we get the wrong type of room but we never got any reimbursement because the manager was never there. They gave me a number to call but they were unable to help because they only could take feedback. It was disappointing not having our fridge and microwave after spending extra to get one of the rooms. It was as if they didn't believe me when I told them the room did not have either because it was marked down that it would. Overall it was a disappointing experience, the only benefit was it was close to Taco Bell and the freeway. Plus it was cheap but still upsetting we didn't get what we paid for. read more

This was the worst motel I have EVER stayed in......checked in for just 1 night, really only about 8 hours(flew in 8pm, flight next morning at 6am)so I thought for 8 hours who cares, it was cheap($65).... all buttons on phone missing(no big because I don't use the phone but still).... greasy head stains on pillows.... unidentifiable stains on bedding(GROSS!!).... a used bar of soap in the tub/shower(gag)...no towels, no shampoo.... decided it wasn't worth making a stink for the 8 hr stay... so went to the front desk to ask for towels and shampoo..... Skank at the front desk said that shampoo is available for purchase in the vending machine !!!! And she would check to see if she had any dry towels..... she found 1 dry towel and sent me on my way. Made me think of the movie "The Florida Project"... starring Willem Dafoe... a very sad movie but I believe a very accurate movie and I believe that's what goes on here at Motel 6 Middleburg Heights, Cleveland. My fiance and I traveled to Cleveland with our feisty Jack Russell Terrier in mid-January. We arrived late at night, and the staff waiting to check us in was very nice and friendly. We opened up our room (a double queen with microwave and mini-fridge) and thank goodness, they had the heat turned up! It was about 15 outside and windy, so it was a welcome relief. The room was fairly clean and seemed fairly well maintained. It's a Motel 6, so I wasn't expecting much. If you're looking for a fancy hotel, this is not it; however, if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay, without paying extra for your pet in tow, this is a great Cleveland area option. There are lots of restaurants around, quick access to I-71, and, at least while I was staying, the place was fairly quiet. The sheets and towels seemed clean, though we also noticed, like another reviewer, that some towels had stray hairs...though it's not like all industrial washers and dryers, or hotel staff for that matter, could be expected to pull all those out. The room itself probably hadn't been updated in years, but appeared fairly well-maintained despite being outdated. There were some odd experiences. When we returned to our room on the second day, we had to re-validate our key cards because neither one was working. The afternoon staff that day seemed like she could have cared less about her job, but wasn't rude, anyway. Also, when we returned to our room on the third day, somehow our dog which we had left closed in the bathroom--with food and water and toys and so just in case housekeeping staff came into the room despite our request for no service during our stay--had gotten out of the bathroom. We, to this day, cannot figure out how. It is unlikely that the dog opened the door himself, especially because the door opened inward and was a regular turn knob. It's not like he grabbed it with both paws and turned it and pulled the door open. So we figure maybe a staff person did enter the room...though nothing else in the room was touched. Anyway, the rest of the stay was fine. The beds were fairly comfy, though the pillows were hit and miss. We got HBO and HBO2 on our TVs, but not other cable channels like Comedy Central, though TV was not a big deal for us. The salt trucks came out and salted the parking lot on a day when snow was expected, so that was nice. Overall, as long as you don't have high expectations for this budget hotel chain, and especially don't want to pay extra for having a dog, this Motel 6 is a good option for the Cleveland area. read more

One word NASTY! There's always police getting calls here and rooms are gross half the time air conditions don't work and there are women that like to come up and offer stuff. Good thing it's not so pricey but also not the cleanest motel. I wouldn't allow my dog to sleep here. read more

Caught the bug and took it to the office 2 different girls working there agreed they had bug problems and I infact had a bedbug. Waited over an hour for the Manager ( Steve) denied it was a bedbug. If I could give no stars, I would. I was traveling through the area mainly to visit family for a less than pleasant reason, a funeral. I had driven from Arizona to Ohio and had rough hotel visits across the country. A lot of noisy nights, a scary midnight intruder and unable to do any work due to spotty Wi-Fi. As a result, I had a few requirements for the kind of room I wanted. I called this hotel and spoke with Nicole, who happened to be the manager of this location. She was very nice and answered all my questions and was able to reserve me a specific kind of room that fit my needs after such a bad travel experience. She was kind and understanding especially when I related how bad my travels had been. She was so patient, I complimented her. I told her she did an amazing job. She told me everything was going to be great once i arrived and I literally used the phrase "Thank you for doing your job flawlessly." Thinking of that now, it is salt in an open wound. I arrived at this location 8 hours later, after a long day on the interstate. I wanted to get to a room where I felt safe, had working Internet and could relax. What happened: Nicole was gone for the day, the kind of room I wanted was no longer available and they had no record of my reservation. Awesome, thank you Nicole for flawlessly not making a reservation. You must have been too busy basking in the glow of my compliment to do the work that the compliment was for. So don't bother making a reservation, they literally are just so awesome, they have a line out the door so they don't need your business and can easily dispose of someone who was guaranteeing a four night visit with a possible extension. Luckily, the Days Inn across the street is basically EXACTLY like the Motel 6 next to it. The people there are nice and when I forgot something after my seven night stay there, I asked them to send it to me. Guess what, they actually did it! Shout out to Nicole's supervisor, Mark, who I spoke with about Nicole's inability to make a reservation. I told him I would be at the Days Inn through the weekend. He told me Nicole would deliver a written apology to the front desk. It never appeared. I called to let him know it never appeared and that I would be writing a review unless he wanted to further discuss it. No call, so here's my review. He doesn't care if this Motel 6 goes under, so go to the Days Inn across the parking lot. It's much nicer, cleaner and the people there want to work and understand what they are selling is a service. Motel 6 is your basic crappy people working a crappy job so they take no pride and you, the customer, pay for it. read more

BEWARE OF COCKROACHES....I was sent to room 121 of this motel and upon walking in, saw 2 cockroaches on the wall. Need I say more?

If you are planning on staying here on business and expect to be accommodated in any way this is not the place to stay! It is a great hotel for prostitutes drug dealers weekend drunks and cheating husbands and management makes it very clear that is all they want! Upon checking in I was giving a filthy room with bugs!! When I informed the general manager he shrugged his shoulders and said "these things happen".... never offered an apology for the inconvenience!! The new room had a non working air conditioning unit and when maintenance came to check they said "it will be getting cold soon anyway". After me continually calling the front desk 3 days later the air conditioning unit was finally switched!! I informed the front desk that I wish not to be disturbed one day when I was working from my room and 3 different housekeepers knocked as well as the maintenance man who insisted he had to come in right now to inspect the room?!! When I called the snotty girl named Nicole at the front desk to express how unhappy I was about the disturbances she replied "I don't owe you any apologies because we are running a hotel and these things need to be done!!!".....after a few more situations similar to this I decided to call corporate guest relations and complain. The general manager Mark responded to my corporate complaint by actually threatening not to renew my room rental!!!!! my best tip is do not stay here if you are an upstanding person and do not complain or you will be retaliated against by the unprofessional management!! It is dirty.... the trash receptacles outside are always overflowing!!! I always used to prefer to stay at Motel 6 hopefully corporate will intervene and change the management here soon!! read more
