While doing a road trip through Oregon, we decided to stop for the night in the town of Sutherlin, which is about an hour drive south from Eugene. This is a not a standard Motel 6, as they purchased the building from a previous hotel. I would give this place a 2.5-star rating, but I will be rounding up since this Motel 6 meets the expected accommodations. It's affordable, it's right off the freeway, it's very close to a Tesla Supercharger, and it's pet friendly with no additional pet fees. There is an area in the back that's fenced with doggy bags available for your dogs to do their business. They also have complimentary coffee, which was very watered-down though. They also had a mini fridge in your room, so that was an unexpected bonus. Like most Motel 6, everything is cheaply maintained; with just bar soap, peeling paint, and random stains on the walls & bathrooms. If you're just looking for a place to spend the night with your pets, and planning to hit the road the very next morning, this Motel 6 meets the necessary requirements. read more

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE - MOTEL 6 SUTHERLIN, OR - NEVER AGAIN We showed up at 2AM--me, my wife, and our two kids. My wife was in tears, just desperate to sleep. The moment we walked in, the room was clearly dirty: trash still in the can, floor not swept--but at 2AM, getting my wife into a bed took priority over anything else. When the sun came up, we saw it all. Used sheets. No clean towels. Hairballs and debris on the floor. Overflowing trash. A used menstrual pad on the floor. Yes. A used pad. In the room we were supposed to sleep in. I grabbed my family and got the hell out. I showed the front desk employee the mess. He agreed it was disgusting. Stayed many nights over the last 5 years. This last one is our last. Nice staff at check-in and a good room rate. However, I would prefer to have the place cleaner. I'd pay a little more too. But it's only gotten worse. Everyone has their own standards and Sutherlin Motel 6 has not been meeting ours for some time now. Too bad... it's a good location but just too grungy. read more

My husband and my Mom went to Sutherlin to stay 3 days to pack her house. The bed hurt my back so bad and the pillows kinked my neck because they were so lumpy. The following night, I used my sweatshirt for a pillow. The bed hurt my husbands back too. They had all the coffee locked up til 6 am which bummed my Mom out. My Mom asked for extra towels and they told her she needed to bring her dirty towels back for them to count before she could have more, which was super weird. The place was somewhat clean, but they could do better. The lady at the counter was friendly enough. It was 169.00 for 2 queen beds and 3 adults. This motel room was very comfy. I'm on the 3rd floor, so no upstairs noises. I got to use that little hotel dolly and lug my belongs up in the elevator. It also was nice and clean. The room had a single bed, but two more places to sit, in the adorable window seat and in the mini desk. There was an ironing board, iron, hangers, hair dryer, Kleenex, and plenty of towels. There are no words that I could use to accurately reflect how bad this hotel is. I was given a bed that was covered in fresh urine and then told that housekeeping had treated it. Clearly this mattress should have been disposed of long before I got there. I tried to speak with the manager for 4 days and she dodged my calls and messages and refused to talk to me. read more

Was inexpensive so we decided to stay here with our two little dogs and the staff was pleasant. Gated dog area was great to let the dogs out and this place didn't charge a fee for the dogs to stay! Noticed there were a couple seedy looking cars in the parking lot and a few people in their cars just sitting there, thought they might take off later. They did not, and we spent much of the night watching over our car and roof rack to make sure nothing was stolen. I had Chinese food from down the street (which I would also not recommend) and threw it away outside in a small trash can by the back door. Come morning it was opened and all of the food we left it in was eaten and strewn about. The emergency exit door right in front of the homeless car was propped open, so someone could get into the building at any time of night. I closed it. Random shady people getting in and out of cars in the dark back corner of the lot. When I first got in the room I noticed a blood droplet on the wall of the bathroom. Wiped that up. Curly black hair on the top of the shower head and more hair in the bath tub which really just needed to be cleaned properly. Top comforter of the bed had a 1" burn hole in it and the sitting area by the window chair had a burn hole in it as well, surely these are not from cigarettes. Random 1" hole in the bathroom shower wall that I had to stuff something in. Not my favorite motel 6 and I would have stayed in Roseburg instead but already booked this one. I worked at this motel six for a few months. Many of the employees are great but the management sucks. No repairs mice traps everywhere. Nothings repaired the remotes the TV Nettwerk no hospitality. They won't even give hot chocolate to children anymore because it's too expensive when you try and raise a concern the nepotism runs the place because both general managers of Roseburg and Sutherlin are best friends and they hire their friends and children the night crews in the swing crews good but the daytime management is garbage if I were you, I would just drive right through Douglas County into lane county and save yourself a headache CW read more

This is one of the nicest motel 6 I've ever stayed at. I tend to favor motel 6 because they are affordable and pet friendly. I'm glad I stayed here because this place was better than a regular motel 6! For $75 I got a nice, clean room that welcomed my dogs. Hard to beat that price and they even had a mini dog park fenced off which was very convenient. The rooms are a little small but cozy. I took off one star because there was some staining on the side of the bed (looked like soda that wasn't cleaned up properly) and the bathtub didn't drain well when showering. Overall I would definitely stay here again. Any place that is big free and welcomes pets and is under $100 is a win for me! read more

Was very noisy. Didn't sleep good. No coffee in room. I didn't pack shampoo or conditioner because most hotels/ motels have them. This on only had bar soap. Stains all over the bed and pillows. This is a good Motel 6. Room noise wasn't too loud. No highway noise. Rooms were reasonably clean. Beds were comfortable. What I especially appreciated was the clerk at the front desk -- we checked in on the evening of 8/5 after an airbnb reservation had gone awry. This hotel should not be on a street named Hospitality Way. The rooms are very small, the bed was small and no fridge. You can hear everything your neighbors do; every move they make, every thing say, every door they slam they will be disturbing you. They pass gas you hear it, they eat bad food you know it cause you hear that too. Wait until they shower, you will think they are in your shower it's that crazy loud. We did get a deal on Bookings.com (which we will never use again. We didn't get what was pictured.) and that's why I gave this place two stars. If I had paid full price I would of asked for my money back and went elsewhere. The front desk wasn't bad she just went through the motions and told us that our room key would give use a 20% discount on our meal at the restaurant next door. Not sure if that's a good thing, maybe I'm just being paranoid and my paranoia could be from the lack of sleep I got the two nights staying here. If you're tight on money and need a quick place to rest your head then this place is good. If you're staying here for the weekend to chill; then I recommend spending the extra money and staying elsewhere. Your sanity is worth the extra money. read more

Nice ADA room. Very clean. Staff very pleasant & helpful. While using the business center next to front desk I witnessed staff fulfilling many guest requests from explaining bill to replacing a TV remote. In the morning it was nice to just walk down inside hall to get already made coffee. Also appreciated that the way parking was arranged outside building that I was NOT woken up by the 5am or 6am guest departures. My only complaint was walls thin so screaming kid in next room was loud, but I went for a walk & kids parents had clearly put 'em to bed. read more

NO WAY this is a Motel 6! It's way too nice to be a Motel 6... the person at the front assured me it was a Motel 6. She did mention it didn't used to be a Motel 6 and as such I assumed Motel 6 bought out a nice motel and put their logo on it. Either way: we had to stop for the night and when you are tired... a bed is a bed. We lucked out and got a nice bed cloaked in "Motel 6" clothing. - Bad analogy. Room is small and looks like a prison cell, the bathroom had a strong stale urine smell. The plus side is the room flooring, with pets I prefer a laminate floor because of previous dogs that may have urinated on won't soak into the carpet and is easier to clean unless you never clean it and let it smell like stale urine. read more

Well, check-in was at 3pm.. got here and the lady had AirPods in and looked at my family and I. We told her we're here to check in and she glanced at us and said "no rooms are ready come back in an hour" then continued on her phone or whatever she was on. So we left and came back in an hour and she had someone else deal with us since she didn't like what we had to say to her and they checked for rooms and still had no rooms available so told us to check in later so we tried again 'later' and kept getting the same response. Then after 3 hours we told them this is ridiculous just give us rooms that are available we don't need to be on the same level... and crazy how he got us all into 3 separate rooms on the same level!!! Crazy how they just appear. Anyways rooms are disgusting, all 3 were. Sinks & bathtub clogged, umm I think blood on my window curtain, wash cloths & towels dirty, dirt and who knows what else on the walls, 2/3 lights work, Bed sheets disgusting and have holes (thank god I brought my own blankets), floors absolutely dirty (I wore white socks on their floor and a few steps my socks were black), their hallways have water damage just about everywhere and it smells. Walls are so thin so you here everyone and everything. There's more but I think you get the point, don't stay here. People with the good reviews have low standards, that's it. read more

Worse motel ever! DONT STAY HERE!!! Room smelled like men's cologne, guy at the front desk did come spray room down. Found blood on the top comforter, ( lots of drops of blood all over it, didn't notice until next morning), when I told lady about it she clearly didn't believe me and was rude about it. . Went to give kids a shower before we left, no towels. So we left, 3 hours later I was charged for the missing towels!!!! Called and talk to lady we told the blood about and she accused me of taking the towels. Called back and talked to manager and they refuse to refund me for the missing towels. We will never stay at a motel 6 ever again!!! read more

AWFUL staff. Very rude. I called to let them know that a little girl was bringing the neighbors cat into the hotel and letting it run around loose, jumping on everything and trying to climb the walls and people, and causing the dogs to go crazy and the lady at the front desk LAUGHED at me and said "what do you want me to do about that". A lot of junkies wander around the grounds during the day and night. Trash everywhere. They have a tiny "yard" for the dogs but never provide bags to clean up, always empty. Trash for it is overflowing. Dogs run around off leash all the time lunging at other people's dogs and nothing is ever done about it. Been staying here during our home transition, and honestly have never stayed at a hotel run so crummy. Also our first night here they gave our room to someone else after we already checked in and at 3:30AM someone bursted through our door. Didn't even get an apology. read more

I shouldn't have expected much by staying at the Motel 6 but there are still certain basic standards. The beds are extremely hard and blankets thin. Unfortunately, coupled with the lack of staff personality and hair swept into the corners of the bathroom and beyond basic room, it was not pleasant. I knew when we checked out I wouldn't stay there again but still wasn't enough to give a negative review or any review really. What happened next was intolerable. The rooms are cheap for a legitimate reason. However, a couple days later we saw a $250 pending charge on our bank account. My husband called and asked what that was for, assuming maybe it was a mistake or some sort of deposit. No, it was for heavy pot smoking in the room. What?!?! We do NOT smoke pot let alone cigarettes! They said there were ashes in the sink and the room smelled of marijuana. We had two small children with us and were there for a short family weekend. Again, we do NOT smoke, ANYTHING! When my husband called they acted like he was lying and said they would reimburse us but to "take it as a warning." Really? Needless to say I was not happy. When I called and spoke to them the woman would not let me to speak to a manager and was very cold. She then admitted that there was heavy pot smoking on the 2nd floor. I asked since we clearly didn't smoke pot, did they charge every room on the 2nd floor. She stumbled and said no and it must have been a mistake that they charged us. The entire time there was no empathy in her voice or responses. Not only was this defamation of character but also clearly an extremely poorly and sloppy run business. I was in hotel sales for 7 years for three very high end hotels in my city and know this type of behavior or protocol would never fly. My advice, if going to this part of Oregon, support the local B&B businesses, not a large sloppily ran business. read more

I was very unpleased with my stay. I stayed for two nights for which I requested maid service, as one who was a housekeeper I can tell you that my sheets were not changed, bathroom was "maybe wiped down", when I called the front desk to inquire if housekeeping had come by I was told the employee was "too busy to handle my complaint, I believe his name was Aaron. He was one of the most rude and inconsiderate human beings I've ever spoken with. And to add insult to injury the night attendant "Aaron" made it seem as it was my fault. The way he talked to me was so unprofessional. So I called tonight and asked for corporates phone number it took me two times to call he yelled at me that they're a franchise and if I had a complaint. I needed to call his manager after 9 tomorrow morning, also yelling and sometimes they don't show up to work. He didn't give me his supervisors name or corporates. "So I'm here to tell you that I will never sleep at another Motel 6 again. Got to our room to find it small. Pillow on the bed dirty. Lumpy uncomfortable bed. Then the old food container found in the closet. Fire alarm went off all this in 1/2 hour of being there.
