Similarly, the dining was nice but priced way above value. I guess they're the only game in town (or on the river) so they price that way, but I'd rather see pricing correlated to value or service, not just because they are catering to the well-to-do's.

We stayed in one of the Hideaway Cottages, tucked into a peaceful wooded setting just a half mile from the Inn. The cottage was quiet, comfortable, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to unwind after a full day of hiking. After settling in, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Inn's restaurant. Dining outdoors beside the beautiful North Umpqua River was an unforgettable experience. The setting was absolutely breathtaking, the food was excellent, and the friendly, attentive service made for a relaxing and memorable evening. The only drawback to an otherwise exceptional stay was the complete lack of internet access. We understand that many guests appreciate the opportunity to disconnect from the modern world, and there is certainly something refreshing about being off the grid. However, as hikers exploring the area, we would have appreciated having at least limited Wi-Fi access--perhaps in the registration lobby--so we could download offline trail maps and check hiking conditions before heading out each morning. That small convenience would have made an already wonderful experience nearly perfect. Overall, Steamboat Inn is a beautiful retreat in one of Oregon's most scenic locations. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, outstanding dining, and a relaxing atmosphere, this is an excellent choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return on a future visit. Mike & Debbie

Rooms & fixtures have been updated, are clean. Quiet, located near a residential neighborhood, & a Catholic church, away from most noisy truck traffic. Pet friendly room is adjacent to safe area to walk pet. Rooms have newer microwave, mini Fridge, satellite TVs. All rooms non-smoking. Lobby is updated. Friendly & helpful desk staff. Breakfast buffet was adequate: hot food in crockpots. Negatives: The exterior appearance, conditon needs work. A derelict former diner building is adjacent which makes this motel look seriously sketchy. Parking lot & walkways show too many gross cigarette butts tossed by careless guests or staff taking smoke breaks. Walkways could use power washing, trash receptacles should be cleaned or replaced. The adjacent residential neighborhood seems to include some heavy cannabis users, so if the smell of drifting marijuana smoke is a turn off, this could be a problem; however much of Oregon deals with this issue, so not unusual. But if traveling with children, that might be problematic. Despite the negatives, I will stay there again when traveling with my dog & to save $$. For this solo female traveler the property felt safe enough. I didn't detect any obvious drug/criminal activity on the property.

The outside areas are amazing and our toddler loved walking through the field and outside eating space. The inside space was very interesting with museum areas explaining rooms and the history on the inn. The food was ok, nothing amazing but pretty good. There's not much around Wolf Creek (unless you go 20 miles south to Grant Pass) so this IS the best food around. Again, staff were great and the accommodations were comfortable. We'd definitely stay here again

The Inn is historic and beautiful and Jack London's room was so fun to see as I fell in love with reading Jack London's stories. I enjoyed the history of the Inn, the fact that there are no televisions, the patio and balcony for guest night t to mention the games and puzzles and tables in the room where I could work on my travel art journal. Peaceful, tranquil, and in a hey setting, the Wolf Creek Inn is a place I would come back to. The restaurant/tavern is good and we ate all of our meals here. The wedge salad, Cuban sandwich and the biscuit breakfast sandwich with sausage were our favorites. Everyone is incredibly accommodating and nice who works there and we even got to chat with several of the other guests because it is a small and intimate place. When my husband and I ordered a mixed drink not on the menu, Nancy was happy to mix it up for us. When we asked for recommendations for places to walk, we got some amazingly beautiful walks within the area. If I'm ever back here, I would be overjoyed to stay again! Thank you for a relaxing pause on our vacation!

I told them my friends were leaving on Sunday and I was going to stay an extra night on Sunday night and wanted to reserve Sunday night when I called them...I asked if they wanted my payment info and the woman said no and that I could pay when I got there. the lady ended up charging my friend instead! when we asked for a refund for Sunday night, we were refused because we missed cancellation period. When we got there the first night, we parked in a parking lot and had to walk to our camp site...hauling everything was a hassle. there were 3 tent sites and all sites had to share 1 porta potty. the reason I am giving this site 1 star is because they are wayyyyy overpriced, considering you have to park and walk to site, share a porta potty, and get spied on and penny pinched for every fee possible. they ended up charging us $60/night ...original price was $37/night but they charged us extra for 2 extra adults and 1 extra car. total rip-off considering there are nearby campgrounds that have bigger sites, better bathrooms, can drive onto site for $10/night and you wouldn't have someone spying on you while you camp. skip this KOA, go for other campgrounds that won't rip you off.
