This is the best little motel, ever. I want to go back to Roseburg just to visit this awesome place. So many extras - and so inexpensive. For three moms, our kids, and two weeks of camping behind us, this place was a dream come true. We had a full kitchen, which was perfect for us. The owner couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The room was clean, the carpet was new, the place felt great. There's also a garden for you to relax in and enjoy. Who knew?! Roseburg is a must-stop now on any roadtrip involving the 5.

Driving through Oregon, we usually stayed at one of the big chains. This time, we took a chance on Rose City Motel, based on other Yelp reviews. We're glad we did! Our room was very clean, warm, and welcoming. The bed had a soft pillow-topper but was firm enough for good support underneath. The room came with 2 heaters, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a huge flatscreen TV. Outside, there's a neat common sitting area in a pretty garden setting, with some outdoor grill equipment. It was cold out so we didn't use it, but it looks like a great place to hang out in warmer weather. All this for only $53. Our only complaint is the relatively early checkout time -- 10 AM -- but they were flexible when we asked if we could check out later, so it's not really a complaint. On future trips, we'll definitely stay here again.

This is the place to stay in Roseburg! Found it on Yelp and fell in love as soon as we drove in! Price was right too - little over $50/night. There are several restaurants within walking distance and a CVS pharmacy. Owners were very nice - gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation. It can be a real PITA to find a place to stay between Redding and Portland. Lots of crappy and expensive chain hotels and an equal number of moldy oldies. This place is neither and will now be my regular stop when I'm headed to Portland.

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful little garden motel last night. Our room was decorated with charming personal touches as if we were staying in a Country Inn or Bed & Breakfast. So much cozier than a cookie-cutter chain hotel. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely return if we pass through Roseburg again!

I chose this motel based on Yelp ratings and wasn't disappointed. I'm usually a hotel snob and do not mind spending extra $$$ to stay somewhere comfortable and clean. Rose City Motel met both of those. Another Yelper said it was like staying in grandma's cottage and they hit the nail on the head. Even so, the carpets are new, everything is super clean, and the beds are comfortable. The manager was very nice and helpful. The outside grotto area is a shady wonderland of ivy and country folk art. Best of all, I got two rooms for the price I normally pay for one at a chain hotel. So there's no continental breakfast....no big deal. Elmer ' s is right down the road. :)

Kathy was as nice as a host can be. I was shocked at how little she charged us for such a clean and comfortable room.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would!!!!!…read more I took a road trip with my young son to roseburg for a fun weekend getaway and to visit the wildlife safari. After being on the road for hours, we approached the hotel, I literally said "I hope this isn't our hotel." It was. We arrived and immediately noticed the extremely run down, dated, and dirty building. The grounds have not been well kept whatsoever. My son and I both felt uneasy. We made our way to the lobby to check-in and I instantly had a pit in my stomach once I saw the front desk guy, Johnny. There was something about him that seemed so unnerving. My son tightly held my hand and we took our place in line. In front of us was a very sweet older gentlemen and the way Johnny spoke to him made me instantly want to just turn around and walk out. The older man said "no, thanks! I won't be needing that!" And Johnny gave him a nasty look and shoved the card towards him while saying "ummm this is your key." The old man said "oh, I'm sorry. I thought this was the WiFi code." With a blank stare. I could tell the older man felt embarrassed. It was our turn and we approached Johnny, still feeling uneasy. He glared at my son and I was so confused. I seriously was like "what the hell is going on around here?!?" I told Johnny we were checking in. He was unbelievably rude and treated me like I was unintelligent and like I was his greatest inconvenience, which I found to be quite funny and was mostly just confused while having a "there's no way this is actually happening" thought. He asked us if we wanted a room upstairs or downstairs, my son excitedly said "upstairs, please!" He ROLLED HIS EYES at my son. Gave us a room downstairs. Why did he even ask?!?!? I saw my son physically cower and looked at me for help. At this point, I'm becoming extremely frustrated and want to find a way out. I was LIVID and said "great. So helpful." As I walked away. He said to the rest of the guests in line "what did that b***h just say to me?!?!" We picked up our pace because he seemed so out of control, I was genuinely afraid he would come after us!!! I take my key and we walked hesitantly to our room. Upon arrival to the room, we noticed it looked NOTHING like the photos. Small, cramped, dirty, dust on the curtains, stains on the floor. The bed squeaked when my son sat on it, the bathroom was microscopic, and the toilet was stained yellow. The curtains were so thin, I could see people staring at us as they walked by!!! I did not take pictures because I didn't even want to sit down!! At this point, I knew we had to get out of there. My son was exhausted and became emotional while telling me he didn't feel safe there. We finally found another place to go and bravely made our way back to the front desk. I calmly told Johnny that we didn't feel safe and I'd like a full refund. Thankfully, he gave me the full refund, but someone I assumed to also be working there came into the lobby soaking wet from the pool with no shirt on and said "what's her problem????" Right in front of us. Johnny said "she doesn't feel safe" in a mocking and condescending tone. We quickly got to our car and left. This is probably the biggest case of false advertising that I have ever seen!!! The lobby looks NOTHING like the pictures. They tried to make the lobby seem spacious and clean, it was not. By any means. The whole experience was awful. Thank god we were able to find a better hotel. Please please trust me when I say do not go here and do not take your children here!!!!! Especially if you're alone as a woman with small children!!!!

Oh boy, staff is incredibly friendly here so this low rating is not a reflection of that!…read more The hotel itself is the low score. One elevator only, not only is it incredibly slow, it makes a weird grinding noise when the doors closing, like it's off track.... My room key kept deactivating (4 times)so imagine having to go all the way back downstairs after realizing so (I'm on the fourth floor), i'm visiting here for work, so I was exhausted and the elevator was taking so long I opted for the stairs. There happen to be heavy rains, and whether there is no gutter or it's damaged, because my window had just massive waterfall rain. Not sure if the window is not sealed properly or if there is something wrong with the AC unit as the floor underneath became completely soaked. Because of the storm as well, the TV cable cut out, I've stayed in many hotels and many different weather situations, and I have never had the TV go out with a note on the screen it's not working because of the rain.... When I used the air unit it made a loud clicking noise the wouldn't stop so I just had to make do without air flow. Odd that there was no body wash in the room and water gets a little warm definitely not hot and takes ages to even get to that level. Same with the sink, probably a little bit worse actually, I don't believe I ever got warm water. There are no "do not disturb" signs, I didn't sleep very well as I was super anxious that house keeping might try to walk in LOL. More of a personal issue I suppose, I guess what's weirder is housekeeping, didn't even enter my room when I was gone, which they would normally do in hotels if you don't have a "do not disturb" sign. Walls are so thin, I could hear my neighbors cell phone vibrate on desk and their child laughing. Thankfully their visit was not super long. Wouldn't stay here again, though
