I started going as a child. It still is a great parade. You don't have to spend the night to get great seats. Just bring your own! Love it!

I was shocked to see that this was their 10th anniversary and I'd never even heard about it before. As much as I love Mideast music & foods I decided to go to it, especially since it wasn't that far, and I wasn't sorry. I got there Sunday evening around 7 and spend a couple hours listening to the lively music, wandering around looking at all the booths, smelling the aromas of food cooking, and eating a variety of the foods available. I may have felt a little less comfortable than I do at the Greek Festival because I've been going to it for 40 years but had a good time. Most of the foods are similar to what I have had at the Greek Festival but with their own variations of course. I probably spent about $30 total. Admission was only $2. I got a sandwich for about $7, a cheese on pita type thing for $3, some meat and rice stuffed grape leaves for 2 or 3 dollars, a bunch of desserts, and then somebody told me how good these other little pastry things with meat inside were that I don't know the name of. I had a couple dollars left and bought some of those. I brought a lot of food home and ate it over the next several days. I enjoyed their version of the Turkish coffee. It was only $1 for a little paper cup full and I don't usually drink coffee at 9 o'clock at night but it was very very good. By the way, they take credit cards. You don't pay the vendors directly except by tickets. You go to a cashier, give them your cash or card and tell them how many tickets you want @ a dollar each. If you run out you go back and get more. These tickets are used to buy food and pay for rides. I don't know about merchandise since I didn't buy any. I would definitely try to go to this festival again next year and would recommend it to others especially if you like homemade Middle East food.

Beautiful round-shaped church architecturally and visually and I'm sure spiritually too but there weren't a mass service at the time of our visit. Attendees were very nice and beautiful bunch of people. Great cultural show with Lebanese and Arabic music, songs, and dancing. The food was good with an elevated outdoor dining area. We had shawarma (beef), chicken, and falafel wraps and they are all delicious. Tented market for arts and crafts and other activities. Parking was an issue but we were able to find street parking with 5-minutes walk away. Very nice event and we recommend it.

I love food and the variety and quality of food that is offered at the annual Santee Bluegrass Festival is a perfect match for food lovers. They have everything for every type of craving. The carnivores (me) were able to have our palettes satisfied by Slaters 50/50 signature patties, which is 50% ground bacon 50% ground beef and topped with more bacon. Life doesn't get any better than bacon. There were plenty of other food vendors but nothing tops bacon, sorry other vendors. Ok, so there were other vendors other then our lovely bacon providers. There were vendors that solely had sweets (cupcakes, pies, cakes, etc.) there was Mexican food, Italian food, and fish. I'm certain there was more food but I only cared about one food vendor and that is what I mostly ate while there. In addition to all the bacon that was provided there were plenty of wine tasting opportunities. One of my favorite wine tasting tables was by PRP Wines located in San Diego. I have personally been buying from PRP Wines for several years and I'm a little partial to them. They import wines from all over the world, they do not carry anything domestic which gave them an advantage compared to the other wine vendors who locally grow their grapes. There is something special inside a bottle of a South African Cab. One of the things I was most impressed by was the fact that PRP Wines brought not only their $20 bottles of wine but their $80 bottles too and they did not hold back on their pours of their most expensive labels. This is not a quality most wineries have. Food (bacon), wine, and now beer. There was a plethora of beer vendors that gave out free shirts, hats, etc. I'm not much of a beer drinker so I have nothing to say other than there was beer and those vendors were friendly. Music, a Bluegrass Festival is not complete without music. There was a band that played great tunes to wash all our food and drinks down with. I have no complaints. I look forward to going again next year!

Chun P and I…read morewere given free VIP passes for the Biergarten thanks to Yelp, though we purchased our own snacks. While the beer gardens require admission, the majority of the festival is free and open to the public. We attended the wiener dog races for the first time this year and they were hysterical! There were 4 to 6 dogs per heat and then they had a final round. Please note, these were not professional racing dogs, just San Diego's finest dachshund dog volunteers from families around town. One family member would release the dog at the starting line and the rest of the family would be at the finish line cheering them on. Some dogs ran straight across to their families really fast, others took their time, barked at each other, and sometimes ran back to the starting line! It was so cute! There was also a planking contest by the wiener dog races, and people have to hold plank with wiener dog stuffed animal on their back. No surprise, some of the beefiest guys dropped first, and for the session I watched a wiry young woman took the gold at holding plank nearly 12 minutes! The music on the main stage was great, we especially enjoyed the traditional German music and Jimmy's Buffet. There's so many creative booths with craft items, and all different types of food to satisfy every craving. The volunteers and security team were all excellent and I sincerely appreciated their efforts. We didn't go on the Ferris wheel, but love that they have some ride options as well. Can't wait till next year's Oktoberfest!

Thanks so much Hanna from Yelp for allowing my boyfriend & I to experience our first time attending OktoberFest La Mesa. Both of us really enjoyed this event! We kept ourselves entertained with the live bands, drank Spaten Premium Lager and ate some bacon wrapped bratwurst to partake in the Oktoberfest festivities!! This La Mesa event was much better than last year'ss Oktoberfest El Cajon we've attended. MUCH THANKS to Hannah from Yelp for allowing us to experience this fun annual event!!

Here is the real website for North Park Music Fest: https://northparkmusicfest.com/ Over thirty live acts perform in fifteen venues over the course of a Saturday. Some offer free admission, other require a wristband, which is only $25 in advance. My wife and I had a blast this year and we are looking forward to the next one. I hope Lion Cut returns. Spin the many promotional wheels to win more free worthless stuff that you'll never look at or use. And, of course, a beer garden... just like every other street fair. And where exactly are the "arts"? The first paragraph is admittedly a harsh commentary of this particular festival, and more a judgment of all of these sorts of things than this particular one. But aren't they mostly all basically the same cookie cutter event, transplanted to a different neighborhood to make that neighborhood feel important for a day? True, the North Park version is definitely above average on musical talent, but that aside, a half hour lap of the venue produces something far less interesting than deja vu. I guess it's somewhat fun having a ton of people flood the streets of your hood, even more fun if alcohol is involved, but I just don't see what differentiates this festival from the many, many others. Also, for a "Festival of the Arts," there really wasn't much art. There was an artist making (yet another) Instagrammable mural and a very few other works in progress and artist booths, but actual visual art comprised a tiny fraction of the event. Something more like the annual Little Italy art walk and chalk art events seem much closer to a festival of arts. Instead, this event is merely a decent, albeit musically well-booked, generic street fair. [Yawn.]
