the interior of a coffee shop

I'd have given this place 5 stars if not for the attitude of the employee, there was something in her tone that was unfriendly. It's just not hard to be friendly and she is the ambassador for the shop. With the location on the square she really is also an ambassador for the town. We had wanted a bite to eat, it was late afternoon, and learned they had stopped serving lunch earlier. My latte was as good as I've had and my husband's espresso was also good. The space is excellent and the boutique attached is nice.

Lovely little coffee shop on the Carthage Square. The ladies working here are really sweet! Since we were visiting from KC, they recommend things for us to do around the square. This place offers coffee, flavored Italian soda and various bakery treats. They also do a soup of the day. I got a coconut vanilla Italian soda; yum!

Didn't last long!

Love the service, love the taste, and love the price! Really that's enough said.,, This place came highly recommended by my pastor, so I had to try it! It has a homie feel and an eclectic style! First time here so I'll have to try more, but thumbs up for the brownies, cookies, carmel macchiato, and mocha! Also any place that makes having a toddler easy is worth coming to!

Great drinks and desserts--get the homemade brownies. Also our favorite place for lunch in town because of their from scratch soup.

This one had the possibility of bein' five star, but he service dropped it down. The food was…read moredelicious and my cocktail was quite tasty. But when we got there, we were going back and forth about getting one large table for everyone, or a smaller table, and let the rest of the folks fend for their own table when they got there. The guy at the front knew our dilemma and said that our server could take our orders right away, and get the ordering process going, so we picked the bigger table. Well, that worked out horribly. We don't know if he didn't pass it on to our server or if she just didn't care, but everything took forever. ALL of our food came out at the same time, and then we were asking for our checks because we had somewhere we needed to be, it was like she downshifted into non-movement. Ruined a good meal.

We arrived at Noon and the Onion was packed! We were quickly placed on the wait list but we only…read morewaited 5 minutes. Our waitress took our wine orders quickly and delivered them in minutes. We ordered the lunch pork chop and the BLTA. Food came fast and was delicious! The pork chop special actually consists of 2 chops! They were cooked perfectly, not tough, tender and juicy. The smashed potatoes contained cheese and green onion bits. The sauce was delicious. It also came with a side salad, see the picture I posted today. The BLTA was served with copious bacon, tomato and avocado with just the right amount of lettuce. If we return to Joplin we will definitely eat here again. It was our waitress's birthday and she was quite pleasant while giving great service.

We used to come here when it was a Mexican restaurant and reluctantly avoided it because we liked…read morethe old place. Like many restaurants in Joplin, the outside is often nothing to get excited about and as someone who works in graphic design and advertising I'm heavily influenced by presentation and packaging. Don't judge this book by the cover! The inside looks really cute, upscale and trendy with an Asian vibe but not over the top or kitschy. This is a palce I would be happy bringing clients, friends or a date night dinner. The inside would fit right in San Francisco, LA or Chicago. The menu is shorter but still has plenty of choices. I highly recommend trying the soups as they serve several traditional Thai and Vietnamese along with the typical Chinese-American soups. My wife had a beef fried rice dish and I had the beef and meatball Pho. Sort of my starter test, if they do well on the Pho I will come back and try them again. The Pho was simpler than others I've had but still very good. I thought it was a bit mild, not in a spicy hot way, but in seasoning. If your looking for a comforting warm broth on a cold day this would hit the spot. Adding a little balck sauce (always on the table) was just enough added flavor. However I felt the Pho needed more vegetables; carrots, cabbage, bok choy, onion etc. It may just be their still but although very good it was basically broth, meat, sprouts (which I love) and sweet basil (instead of cilantro). Again, it was still very good but why I only gave them four stars. My wife's dish was elegant, and I'd even say fancy. Instead of dumping everything in a big bowl and calling it fried rice each element was presented seperately and generiously. Her dish was far more flavorful and complex than mine. She honestly had made a better selection and perhaps I ordered something that was not their best dish. I think my wife would have rated them five stars. Last we also ordered the fresh translucent spring rolls with the peanuty dipping sauce. It was perfect, fresh, cool, crisp and always fun to see through the translucent wrap. The sauce was so good we wanted to eat it with a spoon after the spring rolls were consumed.

The food actually resembles the pictures on the menu! The service was professional and efficient…read more The restaurant was Zen in color and design. My husband has alpha gal. It is an allergy to mammal meat. For this reason we don't order spring or egg rolls. However, our waiter had the cook make spring rolls for us with shrimp only. They were great! I ordered extra to take home. Also, we had chicken and noodles. It was fresh colorful and my husband finished it off. We will return to Kim's Kitchen.

Today we bought lunch for three and my son got Mac and cheese with his sandwich and I had the chili with mine. My wife got a salad and it seems she had the best thing. Our sandwiches were tasty, but mostly bread. I mean a lot of bread and very little inside. My sandwich was $10 bucks and for that in a rural midwest town I would expect much better. if I had gone to Subway, Firehouse Subs or Jimmy Johns I would have a longer sandwich and easily three times the stuff inside. My son made a point fo complaining about it too. Good tasting sandwich and bread, only far too much bread and next to nothing inside. Over the last year, we have tried them several times from carbide pickup to eating outside or eating inside. The service is consistent and prompt and I have no issues regarding that. However, each time we have ordered several things are unavailable, popular yet ordinary items that any smart manager would have planned better and kept regular staple items in stock. For example they promote an extensive baked potato menu and it all sounds great but twice we came in and they had run out of potatoes! I mean if you were getting low run down to the store and buy a bag, how hard is that. You should never run out of basic menu items unless you have poor management.

I ordered on Door Dash. They didn't send the au jus for the French Dip. When I called they said…read morewhen I come in they will give me a discount. We are just passing thru Joplin. Will not order from here again
