Vermicelli bowl with chicken and spring roll
    Rachel L.

I have had some pretty good pho in Toronto, I didn't have high expectations for a pho place in Collingwood but was surprisingly wrong. I got the pho (P1) and it was so good. The soup was very flavourful and aromatic. Everything was perfect - the meats and the noodle. This was in par with some of my favourite pho in Toronto. It only comes in one size. It was enough for one, not too big nor small. The fish sauce chicken wings were my second favourite dish. They were fresh, crispy and tasty. The rice dish and vermicelli bowl were good too but I have had better. My least favourite was probably the rice dish. Prices were on the higher side but I think in par with prices around the area. We got in around 7pm on a Friday night. We got a table right away but the place started filling up quickly. It looks like there's only one person working the front. I watched people sit themselves at dirty tables, and waiting 10+ minutes for a menu/service. It was like in real life overcooked.

We stopped by for lunch on our way to Blue Mountain village for Thanksgiving long weekend. The first visit was good. The restaurant was not too busy. We ordered rice and vermicelli dishes. The pork chop dish was really good. The pork chop was paper thin and not reflecting the $21 price point. My wife got the vermicelli with grilled boneless chicken thigh and spring roll. This was a well executed dish. We liked the food and decided to return on Thanksgiving Monday. The restaurant was too busy and overwhelmed. We arrived at 11:30am when they first opened. The service was subpar and we had to follow-up on our orders. If you are looking for some Vietnamese food in the Collingwood area then I would recommend this place. They also have banh mi ( Vietnamese subs) and dim sum available.

We ordered take out at Minh's. For some reason we been to Collingwood many times but never saw this place. We ordered pad Thai, Vermicelli, Thai fried rice, pork chop rice and the fried shrimp. Overall the food was pretty good, vermicelli portions was generous. The kids loved the fried shrimp with the wasabi sauce? Not sure what sauce it was. Food everyone enjoyed. Will come back again.

What does this mean? I should've asked!

It seems like this place is pretty new! I really wouldn't know cuz I come to Collingwood never and Blue Mountain once in a blue moon. After a day of spring snowboarding, we were heading into the downtown area but the signage for Minh's caught my eye. How could we not stop for a local restaurant when piping hot pho would really hit the spot? We snagged a table for 2 when it was already a full house. It's not a big space. Seating for maybe 25-30? People had called in for reservations so we definitely got lucky. We quickly ordered two bowls of pho with rare, well done, and beef balls. We also got the fried spring rolls as an appetizer. Nice sized and freshly fried so crispy! The soup was really good! We were pleasantly surprised. I particularly liked the beef balls. I'm wondering if they're homemade. My only criticism and the reason I didn't give 5 stars was there definitely could've been more rice noodles. I'd say their portion was more of a medium than a large. $19 for pho is on the higher end but, given pandemic pricing, understandable. The meats were plentiful so we need more noods. I think any diner would enjoy just a tad more to feel properly full and/or satisfied. I had to give my hubs a large spoonful of mine. Overall, we had a nice dinner with friendly service. Please give more noodles but keep everything else the same! I'd come back and would recommend to others in the future!

If you love great Vietnamese food, Minhs in Collingwood is the place for you. They also serve a selection of dim sum every day. Everything I've ever tried there has been absolutely delicious. Be sure to check them out if you're in the Collingwood area.

Saw two pho places in this town, this one seems to have better reviews, so I gave it a try. The place is on the small side, may be 12 tables. They don't run very efficiently. Tables are finished and no staff to clean up. People waiting at the door and they don't come and ask how many people. When they come and ask, they walked away without giving you any response and walked away. Food are extremely slow. After ordered my food like half an hour, the waiter asked me did you ordered? What??? You are the one who took the order. Waited close to an hour for food. Seriously? Vietnamese food is supposed to be fast. If you have hungry kids, don't bother coming here. They call it fine Vietnamese food, there's nothing fine about the food here. Ordered this tempura shrimp. I know, why would I ordered that in a Vietnamese restaurant. It's because my kid saw it on the menu and wanted it. The shrimp is tasteless and it's not tempura shrimp. This is worse than what you can find frozen in Costco. The dipping sauce is spicy. My kid can't eat it. Ordered pork chop rice. The meat is small and thin. It's nice that they use broken rice though. The fish sauce is spicy again. Kids can't eat it. Ordered a beef pho. Not sure why they don't offer different sizes like most pho places. Not much meat again, but the soup is okay. Overall, flavours of food is not bad and seems authentic. Portion of meat is not the best. Prices are on the high side as you would expected as it's close to blue mountain. Wait time is horrible, not worth it. Never come back again.

Came here on a rainy day during our trip to Collingwood. The soup was very good and the lady there was also very nice.

Great food. Best dim sum around and even better than many in the city. Vietnamese pad Thai so don't expect Thai pad Thai.

Beautifully presented. Highly recommended. Take it from a Korean, Taiwanese family. This is our "Pho" place. From Angus all the way to Barrie to Collingwood, we've tried every Pho place and this is definitely our spot. If you don't like the taste of these dishes, it's safe to say that maybe Thai & Viet food isn't for you because they are very good.

They don't have the Pho in Small, Medium, or Large sizes like in other Pho places I have been. It came in as a standard size which is more than satisfactory for an individual to finish. Orders of the Pad Thai dishes also came out in large servings. Our waiter was also visibly active and can be seen trying his best to provide his best service. What I did not like was the actually customer service we received. Communication alone was a little troublesome. We had a request to see if it is possible to have a little more veggies or greens added to our Pad Thai order. There was some mix up and it did not look like the waiter properly understood our request. Our waiter also appeared to always be in a hurry. After getting seated and not even having enough time to look over the menu, the waiter came to ask what our orders were. We responded that we needed some more time. He also was quick to try to remove any of the dishware from our table. It was perfectly understandable to ask to remove some of the appetizer and side dish plates, but it may debatable to instantly remove the main plate. My companion who finished his meal early left to use the washroom when the waiter came to clear his plate without having requested permission. My companion then came back to an empty spot while me and 1 other was left still eating midway through our meal. I believe there are some societal norms that are universal and should transcend cultures such as never assuming, and always asking first. Another example of this was when the waiter came with a pitcher of water and asked who wants a refill. Only one of us gestured back showing a need to refill the glass. The waiter went on and poured water, then just went on to the next person and was about to start filling in the glass. This guest diner did not actually need his glass refilled and told the waiter the same. There are a lot more of these customer service and restaurant management practices that I observed can be corrected and improved. They already have a good variety of food offered in their menu and their serving sizes are also not bad so improving on their shortcomings will make them an establishment worth recommending.

During they offer a casual lunch atmosphere, capped off by the very cool surf shop upstairs (unexpected, but such a fun touch for Collingwood). Come evening, the main floor completely transforms into a stylish, intimate restaurant/wine bar that feels trendy without trying too hard. The menu is thoughtfully farm-to-table with something for everyone; plenty of vegetable-forward dishes alongside well executed meat and seafood options. We ordered widely across the menu: the green salad, roasted carrots, charred cabbage, frites, octopus and marrow tacos, chicken, and the fish special. Every dish felt intentional and balanced with bright acidity where you want it, richness without heaviness, and seasoning that enhanced rather than overwhelmed the ingredients. That said, the octopus and marrow tacos absolutely stole the show. Perfectly cooked octopus, rich marrow, and bold but harmonious flavours. It was easily one of the most memorable bites we have had in a long time. Service deserves a special mention. The wait staff was exceptionally attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, striking that perfect balance between being present and never intrusive. Between the atmosphere, the thoughtful food, and the standout service, Georgian Bay Surf Club is a place we will definitely be returning to, both for daytime hangs and romantic nights out. A true Collingwood standout.

Tips: - This place takes debit and cash only…read more - The hot tea is scorching hot. A couple of Wednesdays ago, after work, I had an early dinner at this Pho Anh Vu on Highway 7 in Vaughan, between Keele and Jane streets. I have passed by this eatery a number of times since it opened. It was time to check it out. This location used to be Veg Italiano. There used to be a pho place a few doors down. It is now a Turkish eatery. This small plaza does have some turnover. However, the Turkish place and this eatery have been here for at least a couple of years. I hope they remain. I got here at around 3:30 pm. I had no problem finding a parking spot. I backed into a vacant one and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a male staffer. I got to sit wherever I wanted. I chose a booth by the window. I got menus to peruse. There were two other tables with customers. It was nice. Hot tea came to me with two cups. The hot tea was exceptionally piping hot. I used both cups to pour tea into them and let them cool. I was ready to order. It took a long time to get a server to come over. The woman at the counter noticed that I was ready and flagged the male server to take my order. I got these items: - Soda lemonade - Grilled chicken on vermicelli with spring rolls My soda lemonade came first. It was fizzy, cold, and refreshing. I loved it so much. I would get it again in a heartbeat. It also helped me down my food as I waited for my hot tea to cool down. When my tea was finally at a temperature that wouldn't scorch my tongue, it was fragrant and yummy. I loved the grilled chicken. It was flavourful and grilled to perfection. The vermicelli was generous and yummy. The spring rolls were stuffed and crispy. This dish came with dipping sauce that I ended up pouring on everything. I feel that I needed more of it. I paid at the counter with a debit card. I tapped and was good. This eatery got busy after 4 pm. My guess is that everyone came to watch the Canada-Switzerland FIFA game. It got tense in the place. Eventually, Canada lost this game. I used the washroom before I left. It was beautiful and clean. It's a decent location that serves good food. The tea was too hot. Service started off slow, but was a lot better once my order was place. I'd love to return to try more items off the menu. (280)
