A few weeks ago I was in the market to purchase a watch as an engagement gift for my son in law and I was told to only go to Boris from Motion in Time by a few friends of mine. They are watch enthusiasts, unlike me, and knew that since I was spending a hefty amount of money ($30k+) on a watch I should see the best. After reading a few different reviews online I was hesitant to contact the so called "IT STORE" for watches. I read a number of reviews online and although they were mostly good I did not feel 100% confident in my friends referral. I went to Yelp and read my final review from "Nathan A." who said that he would not recommend Motion in Time to anyone. I gave the store the benefit of the doubt and gave it a shot. I came to Midtown to see Boris and was greeted like a gentleman. I do not know if it because he knew who sent me or not, but I quickly had a good feeling about him and his store. After about an hour of him literally teaching me about all there is to know about watches and the market for watches, he helped me decide on THE watch for my future son in law. It was a stunning Patek Philippe that was apparently impossible to get anywhere. He explained that Patek was having a price increase in about a month and that it is a solid purchase. I took his advise and made the purchase. After all was said and done, I asked him about the mixed reviews that I read online and he simply explained that it is "impossible to make everyone happy." And though it is unfortunate that many of his clients are not computer savvy or do not care for online reviews I told him that I would let the public know of my unbelievable experience at his store. I think that Boris and his family at Motion in Time, are experts in the field of watches. Not only would I recommend them to anyone that is looking to purchase a fine timepiece, but I would guarantee that they will probably have what others wouldn't and would give the best possible price they can to close the deal. They definitely made a fine impression on me. To top off this wonderful experience, I called a few other watch dealers after making the purchase to see if Boris was 100% honest with me and they ALL told me that the watch that I purchased is back ordered for months and that no one in there right minds would sell it at a discount. Thank you Boris and Motion in Time - the BEST! I was reminded very recently about how much I love working with Boris and his family at Motion in Time! My wife Jennifer and I have purchased several watches from Boris over the years, and he has ALWAYS made me feel like family. My most recent visit was prompted by a proactive email from Boris that he had found and set aside a special watch for me for a special birthday......my 50th. As has been the case every time I deal with Boris, beyond being the most knowledgeable watch professional I have ever met, he was thoughtful, patient and generous. In securing this particular watch (the IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar "Double Moon" Hemisphere Moonphase 18kt Rose Gold Black Dial) Boris and the staff ran out to the local IWC boutique to secure for me the band we all agreed would look the best and they hand delivered the watch with the new band to where I was having lunch! They then took the watch I was wearing and cleaned it before shipping it back to me in Florida! Motion In Time is a well-established watches and jewelry business on 47th Street in NYC. For years I have been going there to repair, overhaul and re-finish my watches. They do a quality work for a reasonable price. One of the watches I own is an antic GP chronograph from later 40s. The watch is old and it requires frequent adjustments which are performed under warrantee free of charge by MIT (MIT services the watch every 2 - 2.5 years), no questions asked. They stand behind their warrantee, plain and simple. Their pricing is upfront and there are no surprises later on. MIT can also make your worn, abused and scratched watch look like new, I mean you would not believe this is your old watch. They did it to my other watch GP Square Chambered Chronograph. The nicest people I've so far met doing business with, very comfortable and flexible, they actually work with you and speak with you not just give prices and wait for a yes or no answer, they sit and explain whats what, I do not know what this guy John in the previous comment is saying but I myself had a great experience with Motion In Time, I know from previous repairs with other shops they do not warranty parts they only warranty movements and mechanical interior, I'm sure 99 percent of stores are the same in this matter, besides $80 for a screw isn't bad at all anyways, I once paid $130 for Stainless steel screw, You have a Cartier not a Casio, Motion In Time I am satisfied with you Thank You Ariel for all your help read more

I met Eli just yesterday, and he showed me bunch of watches. Eli spent so much time with me and shared so many information with me. I was hesitant to buy because I want it a different dial color for my AP. I left the shop, and went through DOZENS of shops. No one could find the dial I wanted. Next day, I called Eli and I explained to him my interest in the other dial color. Within an hour, Eli worked so hard and called so many dealers and got the watch! I was shocked he found it. I had been watching ebay for a Hublot Big Bang and ran across one that Boris at Motions in Time had and it was a little unique so it really attracted my interest. Anyhow I made a (low) offer and of course Boris said no and I did this several times over the course of 2 months and finally I made an offer he accepted. This is a high end watch and not ever doing this before I was getting cold feet but I looked MOT's reviews and they were very good so I got the wheels in motion contacted Boris about arrangements and from day one he was great to deal with and helpful and I'm just happy as hell that we did a deal and love the watch! In terms of finding a rare timepiece this is the place to shop. They have a selection rivaled by no one. However, I think they are a 5-star company because they stand by the products they sell.
