Gulf Shores Power Sports & Marine - Boat after 5 1/2 weeks at GSPS service department

The service department is extremely unorganized and lacking in personal service. They had our boat…read morefor 5 1/2 weeks for our 100 hour service, mister repair, tighten back anchor, and potential onboard charger. We never received a phone call for repair costs or updates. All communication was initiated by us with each call resulting in a "your boat is next in line" or "your boat should be completed by today". Due to cost we declined the onboard charger - twice. At 5 weeks we informed the service department that we would be picking up our boat the following Wednesday. We called again on Tuesday to remind them. The boat service was not completed - the mister pump had not been installed. The warranty director asked us to give them 15 mins. We came back 30 minutes later. Our boat was filthy. We can only hope the service was done correctly. We will never use this service again and do not recommend them.

Came in to look at a Goldwing ,some woman posing as a sales person asked me if I needed help. She…read moreknew absolutely nothing about the bike and made no attempt to find out anything . When I tried to look in the trunk She said ,oh they locked it but never offered to go get the key. She stood there not saying a word, I sat on it and said "are you guys discounting this since it's a 25 model" she says no we don't discount ,this bike just came in (even though it's February 26 ) someone will want the bike. I walked out disgusted, I felt like a second class citizen not a 50 year rider retired with money

I was able to get a plug in the tire to get me to Biloxi, but frankly I didn't really trust the tire anymore, and wanted to get it replaced. I had called around locations in Pensacola earlier that day, but none of the stores in that area had a tire or space to do a tire replacement for me, so I nervously made my way to Biloxi, where I found South MS Powersports. They had the tire and the time to get me back on the road safely and confidently. The store is a decent size and they have a solid selection of bikes for sale. All of the personnel were nice, asking if I had been helped and making sure I was comfortable while I waited. The tire replacement itself took less than an hour to complete, which I consider to be fast since the Goldwing is not an easy bike to work on in terms of the rear wheel. There is a lot of stuff in the way of that wheel. The price for getting the tire changed out was also reasonable, and I was on my way in no time. Thank you South MS Powersports for helping a rider out! You guys saved my butt!

Since then I have worked on others units and have found: -Improperly flashed ECU (2022 GSXR 1000) which they denied then after arguing with them they saw it was incorrect and reflashed it. -Improperly Dyno tuning another bike resulting in a rich condition. -Improperly removing wheel weights on a CBR1000RR SP and gouging the wheel in front of the customer with a scraper removing the gold paint. The old guy (owner) did it and did not offer to have it painted. Go elsewhere to avoid bad quality service and overpriced units/service.

Buyer beware With FX…read morerecommended by Moto Julia for working on older BMWs, I bought what I thought to be a good deal from a good mechanic. I believed I was purchasing the exact bike I had been searching for; turned out to be quite the project bike I didn't really want. I currently kind of feel stuck with a money pit of a motorcycle that Dave said was good, ready to go, and he would ride across the country as is... I soon learned to consider it unsafe in the condition it was and have found multiple roadside stranding type issues since purchasing. It has been stranded in my driveway more than once with, intially, an officially tested bad, failed battery and then a completely worn out starter motor. I was able to get it running again for a few hundred dollars in replacement parts, and a lot of work on my part. These are not the only problems I have been finding but the only ones that left the bike unable to start at all. I am hopefully only looking at around $2k to get it to where I think I can ride it to British Columbia and back, like I did on one of my former older in far from perfect type of shape BMW bikes. The point is I'm having to work and spend $ on this bike a lot more than I'm riding it when I was told it was good to go as is... Be very careful and know what you are doing or bring someone who does. I'm uncovering more and more issues with and cheap parts installed in this bike as I get work on the other potential problems, that I had voiced concerns about when I was buying it (that Dave said were normal charateristics for this type of motorcycle to have). #1 was slack in drivetrain - which may or may not need serious repair - some owners online have said they have lived with "the drive clunk" for many miles on their R1150 models - others have rebuilt shaft, bearings, and splines throughout the drivetrain to remedy, = $$$ Beware of vehicle purchases without clear mechanical certainty of what you are buying. Be thorough and don't let your excitement get the better of your judgement. Really inspect every detail when purchasing from here and don't take their word for it just because they are mechanics. I do like the bike and believe I can eventually fix all its issues I'm discovering but I probably won't be using Fx to do any more of the work on it. The repairs I did have done there were grossly underestimated, and I was charged 12hrs at $119.00/hr instead of the quoted 4-6hrs. Otherwise, Dave is very friendly and helpful, as is the woman working the front desk. Going by other reviews, maybe they are better with the scooters but I don't advise going there for BMW repairs/service.
