The idea of a has always seemed very enticing to me. Enter Josh. Josh greeted us very casually, very low pressure and asked help us. I told him my story and he brought me to several preowned goldwings. My wife, I, and Josh chatted for a little bit, and I explained to him that we weren't interested in buying that day, but we were just doing our research and that I wanted to sit on a to see if I even need to continue drooling over these machines. When I found one I , I hopped up on it with the wife on the back and was the buttons and gadgets with my feet on the floor. He my feet up on the floorboards to see how I felt, at first I thought I really liked it. He didn't me and said, I'm surprised you that, you are about the same height as me and I feel very cramped. He was right. Honestly, I was a little heartbroken because I had my mind set on one. But thankfully, he ruined that lol. He didn't give up on me, though, he asked what I was looking for, and I told that I was looking for a 2 up and I had to travel on. He talked me into considering a Can-Am spider. We hopped up on an RT and absolutely love the feel of it. He offered a test , however, I declined. I knew if I rode one and liked it that I would try to purchase something that I wasn't ready to purchase And explain that to him. He completely understood, but continued to shoot the breeze with us. When we do pull the trigger, we will likely make a trip back up to Lewis to give our new friend Josh a visit and hopefully some business. Motorcycle Maxx - First motorcycle! - Motorcycle Repair Near Me - Lewis Center, Ohio

I went here originally for an on bike tire change on a tubed tire, for an '06 Shadow. I provided the tire I wanted, and the tech assured me they could provide a tube. The wheel set up I originally used a tube with a 90 degree bend air valve stem, because the Shadow has a very cramped well inside the rim due to being shaft driven. When I received the bike, it had a straight valve stem. I can't get most public air pump chucks to fit as they are made for cars an angled at 45 degrees. Fine, I call back to see if we can resolve it. I'm talked down to almost immediately by Josh and told they won't cover the labor to replace it and supposedly Honda OEMs the tire with a straight valve stem on the tube. I tell him I'll call back with a decision the next day. Lo and behold I find the parts book and multiple photos of Honda Shadows proving my bike isn't a one off, and Honda knows how to make a bike! They all have 90 degree air valve stems! So I call back to Josh directly and say, let's see what we can do, but please next time you work on my bike return it to me with the layout I left it in your hands with, but I will pay some money to find a middle ground. Again talks down to me like I am stupid and says very sternly like I'm a child that they replace things how THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO GO. (I'm sure Honda designed their tire to be near impossible to get most air pump chucks onto.) After being boldly and confidently lied to as I'm LOOKING at the OEM parts list of tubes with 90 degree stems, I point out I have both a huge swathe of photos and the Honda OEM parts book showing the correct tube, and he hangs up on me. Do not no business with someone who lies to cover their mistakes. Thankful it wasn't a serious repair that could get me in danger on a two wheeled vehicle and instead I learned my lesson early with a repair that just created a lot of inconveniences for me. read more

I am continuing to have to make payments on a bike I haven't had for 5 months because of this. They do not respond to texts/emails. Frank, I completely agree on the statement one should always expect full attention. The closing early bothered us because while cars still in the lot (assuming employees) doors locked and not even bothering to put a sign up "gorgeous weather, we left early to ride" would have been preferable to nothing communicated. The statement of best motorcycle shop is hard to take seriously as a result of that and the repeated reviews where this seems to be an ongoing issue. However, having managed businesses before I also know that you can't control everything employees wise. Staff was nice & they had twice as many bikes as most dealers I've seen lately, but they stopped doing test rides. I get it, they got F'ed over a couple times & people are crappy/suit-happy, but this is unfortunately part of the business. I did a lot of research on what bike I wanted. I wanted a used FZ-09 with low miles. I just had to wait for one to show up. I visited their website (which is probably the best designed motorcycle site around; very clean and easy to navigate) and found my needle in the hay. I was an easy customer to deal with. I wanted the bike. I traded my old one in. Not for as much as I wanted but hey, they gotta turn a profit so I get it. The shop was super clean and crammed with pretty cruisers mostly. They did have a handful of sport bikes and such. Their shop wasn't why I loved my experience, though. It was the people in it. Everyone was stupid friendly. They slapped new tires on for me to seal the deal. They fixed a minor issue with the tail light within a day. Their lead mechanic drove me home while I waited on the tune up. He then went out of his way to drop it off for me--no charge. It was a stroke of luck that I found this place north of Dublin, OH. But I'm glad I did. Shoot. While I waited on paper work to go through, they sent me to a great pizza place called Log Cabin Pizza and comped my meal. Great food. Another good review I need to write. I just can't say enough about their lead mechanic. He put new nuts on the headlamp area because it didn't like the quality of the factory ones. He stayed passed closing to insure that the minor issue the bike had was taken care of and wouldn't cause any referred damage. I love this place. If you want a used bike go there. If they don't have what you want, wait. Because you won't find better service anywhere else. read more

I'm an evacuee from Hurricane Irma currently stranded in Delaware County with my motorcycle. I had an issue with my tag nearly falling off on the trip north, in West Virginia. I needed some new license plate bolts, so I looked up the closest bike shop, which was Motorcycle Max. I got there before opening, but that didn't matter. The graciously opened early, gave me free bolts, and motioned me back into the shop, where they removed the old corroded bolts, and installed the new ones, also free. Mind you, it wasn't a big job, but the gesture meant a lot. I had to evacuate on short notice, and money is very very tight. They did me a huge favor! These guys are a class act! They are now my motorcycle resource in central Ohio, my second and ancestral home. I returned to Powell last week, to retrieve my motorcycle. I had left it in Mom's garage over the winter. The ride north had so exhausted me that leaving it behind seemed prudent at the time. I had Motorcycle Maxx look it over, and some issues were found. Knowing that I needed to be on my way, they expedited the repair, and went well above and beyond the call of duty. I was left with the distinct impression that they were far more interested in my safety, and good customer service than they were with maximizing cash flow. I was very impressed with their service last fall. Today, my esteem knows no bounds. My return ride to Key West was devoid of any mechanical issues. These guys are da bomb!! read more

I purchased a 2013 Honda Fury from this dealership in March of 2021. They sold the motorcycle to me as is no warranty which I assumed would have been ok since the bike was known for being extremely reliable. Well where do I begin, first off the engine began to act funny when running and would idle low and then high and then low and then high and now I can't even ride it because after a while the engine just cuts off and if I did try to ride it it would spit and sputter and cut off while trying to ride. Then I found out the bike had none of its fluids changed before sale so I had to have them changed and while changing the oil I was greeted by the oil drain plug completely stripped out to where it looked like I was trying to loosen a circle with my 7mm. This took me 1.5 hours to finally loosen off of the bike so I could change the oil. Then I noticed the top of my engine soaked with liquid and found out that one of my front fork seals was leaking and spraying hydraulic fluid all over my bike when it ran (still have not been able to fix yet). Finally, when I thought it couldn't be any worse, then the back tire sprung an air leak from the back tire being bald. I am completely unsatisfied with the bike I have purchased from this dealership. I will never buy another motorcycle from this dealership and I will be telling all the biker friends I know about the piece of junk this dealership sold me. Horrible experience, if I could do it over again I would have never stepped foot into this place if I would've known they were willing to sell a bike that would have this many problems in roughly a months time. I'm looking at putting somewhere close to $1000 into this bike if not more after its all done and fixed and I'm not going to waste my breathe calling Motorcycle Maxx since it was sold without warranty. Piece of junk bike sold by a horrible dealership and now I have a monthly $132 payment on a bike I can't even ride. UPDATE : Frank called me in a very timely manner about an hour or two after I posted this review and stated they would be covering the costs of labor and would transport the bike to go get it fixed as well, so considering that they are willing to do this for me I believe the previous statement is no longer valid and this dealership stands behind their sales. Due to this I now have increased my review to a two star from a one star. Depending on the interaction I receive in the process of getting the bike fixed will determine how this review is updated further. If they complete what they stated they would do my review will raise to a higher star rating and I will be satisfied with my purchase and no longer will consider the dealership a bad one but rather a good one. If they contradict what they stated they would do it will go back down to one and I will continue to back my original statement. Updates will follow. read more

I bought a Yamaha Roadliner here last year and financed it. I'm an out-of-towner so as far as the buying process goes it went pretty seamless. Went through their finance department and everything went well. Which is why I made it a 2 star review. I bought it late in the year so I didn't have a ton of time and nice weather to ride it in. So I only put 300 miles on it. I declined their insurance due to the fact that I would've had to trailer the bike all the way back down to Columbus for repairs. This is where things went south. I stored it in my heated garage all winter and took the proper precautions for the winter (battery tender etc.) I took it out this spring and took it to the local Yamaha dealership to perform maintenance. I thought it would be pretty light considering when I purchased the bike they said they ran it through the shop. The local shop found $1,200 dollars worth of work when I took it in for an oil change. Things like a new battery (made sense cause it died on me twice even with the tender), spark plugs, a dry rotted back tire (they kept it and showed me the dry rot), burning fuel due to the aftermarket exhaust chip (my fuel mileage has probably doubled) and finally, when they took the back tire off to do the tire. !!THE BACK TIRE BOLTS WERE LOOSE!! So even though I only rode it 300 miles, you're telling me I was riding around those 300 miles with a loose back tire!? So you tell me that when you guys "ran it through the shop" you didn't notice any of these glaring issues?? Highly unlikely. Like I said, buying process was great but when you tell a customer you've put the bike through maintenance maybe that should be the truth. I'm already looking at getting another bike and buying a used Street Glide. But I'll be sure to look elsewhere for my business. read more

I bought an $18, 000 Honda Goldwing trike for my father only to drive it 2 hours home to Cincinnati to find that the starter motor was burnt out, the reverse gear would not engage and the cruise control would not work. I called and they said they would fix the issues, which they attempted... two weeks after the purchase, 21 miles later, there was a severe knock in the motor. We informed them that we we needed to bring it back for a third time to have it looked at. They agreed to look at it at the end of the riding season, which we were very happy with, but unfortunately my father unexpectedly passed away under 90 days after the purchase. In that time. I was told they would offer me over four thousand dollars less than I just paid, cash, for the motorcycle less than 90 days ago, even though I had to bring it back twice due to their oversight for three major mechanical issues, over 2 hours away, paying both ways for transportation and my dead father never got to enjoy it at all...and It still had to go back for a major mechanical issue... I really liked these guys, and had a great buying experience, but wouldn't recommend that you purchase something there at any cost based on my personal experience. read more

I was very pleased to leave not only with a great deal on the exact bike I wanted, but was even happier leaving with parting gifts; personal riding gear, assistance with loading and tying down the bike for the transport home. They helped assist us with information about the canyon dancer, an awesome strap that is well worth getting to help secure it down with tie downs on either a truck bed or trailer. They each made sure to give me great tips about the bike, environment, etc. I'm very pleased with the very helpful staff and their great location on 23 near Powell. They have so many rides to choose from; This place is packed to the brim. I wanted to leave with an application to get another part time job for the future, it's a great environment. They also made sure to not let us leave without free shirts, pens, etc. Fantastic experience, highly recommend a visit here if you're either seriously in the market for a bike, need parts or riding gear, or are just scoping out bikes to shop around. I bought my cbr1000 a year ago with an extended warranty, and when I brought it back for an internal engine noise (a noise that doesnt affect motor durability) they said, someway, they would take care of me. My bike sat for 2 WEEKS before I called to check on the progess, only to find that they declined to fix my bike. Their "Promise" program is a joke. And I quote, "we don't have the special honda tools to do the job, and the motor might not work right." I had to call, email, or otherwise message them every day until they got fed up with me pestering them for a refund of my warranty, and that was after they changed the subject toward trading my bike back in. Pay attention to the fine print, they can decline any job for any reason they see fit, and nobody else is able to be contracted to do the work. If i hadn't bought a warranty, I would have nobody to be disappointed by, and I would have nothing negative to say. But here we are. The bike itself is a strong running bike, just happens to have a service bulletin for that model from the manufacturer which expired soon after I got the bike. They have friendly staff, and I would buy a bike there again, except I would stay away from any warranty! read more
