Quoted me $7,000 for a USED engine for a 2003 Ford Ranger. While that is high, the most appalling thing was that the manager was pressuring me to sell my vehicle to him for $150 when he gave me the quote over the phone. When I went in to reclaim my vehicle, the first thing the manager asked me was whether or not I had decided to sell my truck to him. The quote given to me was not itemized in any way and they charged me over $190 for pulling one spark plug for diagnostics. DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY THIS SHOP. read more

My old Volvo died on the highway about 20 miles out of the Tri-Cities. I usually take it to a Volvo specialist, but every one in the Tri-Cities had a waiting list. The tow truck driver brought us to Motoring Services, and I was super impressed with their service. Their mechanic couldn't replicate the problem, but he found the code for what was happening, and they got the part in quickly and fixed it up. The mechanic thoroughly test drove the car before and after the repair. The guys also helped us locate a rental car (since we needed to get back to Seattle that day) and were just a really nice bunch of guys. Thanks again, Motoring Services! read more

Finally a mechanic I can trust! After a spendy bill last month to keep my beloved 4runner on the road that was money I could've lit on fire instead; at a shop that shall remain nameless (lucky dogs). I called Jodi at Motoring Services with a desperate cry for help. My wonderful, yet old SUV was suddenly showing its age and something was definitely not right. What a great organization! I was in town from Walla Walla to visit family (after Costco), when my Honda began to misbehave off Gage. Too uncertain of my problem to drive too far, not even into Richland, I made the half-mile trip to Motoring Services after talking to Mike on the phone. He said to come on over! Mike also offered alternative service firms to address my problem, if I did decide to limp into Richland. Even though I had no appointment, and they had plenty of on-site work and more coming in the door, Tyler got my Honda diagnosed and taken care of. Maybe I'll not clutter up my instrument panel with gas receipts, pens, etc., so that I can actually see my Check Engine Light symbol, just saying. The lobby is comfortable (Pandora, water, coffee, comfy seating), Jody was great at keeping me updated on progress and explaining the technical aspects of my issue, and the hour went by quickly. Over that time, they have provided routine maintenance and repair for a number of vehicles, including a GMC Sierra, Ford Explorer, Subaru Outback, Dodge Caravan, Pontiac Sunfire, and a Mazda 3 I've always felt that they have been honest with me. Work has been completed on time, with good communication during the process. Wife broke a fan belt on the Subaru.I was out of town so we had it towed to Motoring services off of Steptoe.I had hoped they would have it repaired that day. After no return call i called then at 4PM.They said a mechanic was looking at it.I dropped in i the AM and asked what was the schedule and price for the belt.What i got was a list of things they wanted to repair.I explained i generally do my own mechanic work so just price the belt as we need the car.Well no dice.I left ans two hours later got a call.Well no price for the belt just telling me I needed to do all of these other things.i said no just the belt price please.Well the price for a $25 belt and 1/2 hour shop labor was going to be 269.00.I said no thanks and sent McCurly over to get the car.At that pint hey refused to release it to the tow truck until i paid the $52 for their broken belt diagnostic work.The 25 point inspection was free i was told.Some of what they claimed was wrong were things i had just had serviced or done myself.Dealer cost for the belts installed was $108 by the way and done in one hour. So don't deal wit these thieves please at all. read more

So I went to this place on a reference from a co-worker, my 84 4runnner kept dying from a drained battery and had no clue what was up (I put in a new battery and alternator). I called ahead and placed a reservation. First day no one looked at it. Second day no one looked at it. Third Day they started. Fourth day it was fixed. Called me and told me it was running. I found out that the button to my rear window had gotten stuck and was draining the battery (hooked up directly to the battery so regardless of the car not running, it drained). Cost me $300!!! ALL THEY DID WAS TOGGLE THE SWITCH TO GET IT UNSTUCK. SLUTS! read more

Being a resident of the Tri Cities for the last 60 years you think you have seen it all but when I saw the bid for work to be preformed on my fathers car I had to do something. This is a warning to look closely at how much M.S. is charging for parts. $25.00 for a light bulb that cost $1.95 for two at NAPA. $675.00 for an air handling assembly that was purchased from NAPA for $135.00. Labor cost were not factored in for these cost. I won't even get into the rest of the of the bid because I think I have made my point. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.......RUN THE OTHER WAY.....May be it was because my dad was driving a nice car or it was because he is 90 years they were trying to rip him off. BE ADVISED..... read more

Place is terrible. The bill was more than I was told on the phone, and when I questioned it, the gal in the front was aggressive and rude. I paid the bill and will never be back. Very untrustworthy business, and the gal who mans the phones and does the bill is unprofessional. Wouldn't give them another dime. read more

I have a Chevy pickup that needed some attention . I called around and checked out different places and reviews . My Chevy pickup needed a steering wheel tightened and I needed a mechanical oil pressure gauge just connected to the block hooked up only . I bought the gauge and fittings . I also wanted them to check the four wheel drive and give it an oil change. I was quoted about 400 dollars at first . I did get the truck back after 600.00 plus dollar bill ..the steering wheel was tightened the mechanical gauge worked . They told me that the 4 wheel drive needed work . I was charged 100.00 dollars for looking at it. . I was charged for changing the oil . I drove the truck this summer and put on less then 100 miles on it .The other day i needed to use the truck and checked the oil ..it was so filthy it looked like it have never been changed . I usually work on my own vehicles and didnt have time to service my own when I took it into motor services . I would never recommend them to anyone for the poor quoting and service that my vehicle didnt get yet I was charged for it ..I am a carpenter and if I charged you 100.00 to look at what was wrong with your house I would probably never have any work. Talk was not cheap this time.. PS Fool me once SHAME ON YOU. please do not send me any more letters saying I should service my truck there. read more
