total scam. We called these guys "being transmission specialists " with a specific problem that we were already aware of, our transmission computer. This problem had already been diagnosed by a technician that wasn't comfortable doing the work so we took it to aamco. Aamco said, it wasn't actually the transmission, that the problem was that we needed a new battery & alternator, that those two things would fix the problems we were having. $1,300 later with a new battery and alternator-guess what! the problems were still there. we brought it back to Aamco where they then diagnosed it with the original problem we knew it had. they wanted 5k plus to fix it and didn't offer to reimburse us the $1,300 spent just a week prior. If I could leave zero stars I would. I just helped a female friend w/ a luxury car avoid a total screw job by these guys! The price for their replacement transmission was almost 100% higher than the dealer. Dealer was $3,500 and they quoted $6,000. Their labor was also excessive at roughly 50% higher. Really disappointed in businesses who want to take advantage of women!!! I'd never go here and highly recommend you go ANYWHERE but here!!! Shame on you guys!!!! read more

Quick and price reasonable at first I saw the reviews and how some were negative how they would try to sell you extra stuff. Just gotta be confident and just go in tell them what you need and they might find extra problems and let you know, you don't have to approve to do the extra problem fix but all and all they are good. absolutely the worst car experience of my life. The couple that owns it and have taken over have ruined the name AAMCO forever for me. The guy who owns it clearly has the most basic, if that, knowledge when it comes to knowing anything about cars let alone changing a transmission. His wife was rude the entire time. My car almost caught on fire leaving there, one month later,a dn it had to be towed back to AAMCO. The wife tried to tell me I could take my broken vehicle but there would be ahold on my title for the tow. hahaha. The tow I didnt ask you for but any decent human being that broke something, especially an owner of her first new business woudl surely take accountability for their fault. WRONG!!! This is one of those shops. They will take advantage of you any way they can. Brought my car in for a clutch job and they wanted to charge me $7,000... I said hell no I will do it my self. 7 grand for a clutch?? They also told me my transmission had metal in it and the oil was burnt up. I called this shop to have the transmission fluid and filter changed on my sister's toyota camry. My sister had just driven the vehicle up from California. The vehicle had 168,000 miles with only one "drain and fill" from the Toyota dealer. I believed a good "flush" fluid replacement of about 12 quarts and filter replacement would be good preventative maintenance for this transmission. The shop called and told us they had bad news! The pan was full of metal shavings "story," and we would need a new transmission, however they could install a used one for $3,800 in the next 3 days???. I told them "NO". Replace the fluid and filter and give the car back. The cost was over $300 for this fluid exchange. When I got a chance to inspect the pan on the transmission, I could see they had "NOT" replaced the pan gasket on the transmission which is standard practice by a "Good" transmission shop. So, I have no confidence they replaced the filter or ever dropped the pan or used 12 quarts of replacement fluid (flush}. The vehicle was driven back to California with no problems. I wish I had just replaced the filter and fluid myself!! read more

They gave an estimate, ilfinal costt was more than the estimate, never put on new parts, tech told husband he used the old stuff. When questioned about it, said they would order new parts to fix issue. That conversation was over a month ago. Leak is still there and have to go somewhere else to get fix. Never ever going back and certainly will not ever suggest this location to anyone else. Never had this problem Aamco before. read more

BEWARE: Two years ago, I noticed my transmission had a leak (I hate leaks) so I took my 1977 Chev C20 with camper to my local AAMCO dealer to have it fixed. They serviced the transmission and also fixed a broken motor mount. (I didn't know I had that problem.) This Spring, I noticed that, again, I had a transmission leak. I had only driven the truck/camper 83 miles to local campgrounds in those two years. So, I took it back to AAMCO. The one year warranty had expired, so I had them fix the leak at my expense. A few days later, I get called that it was ready. I go to the shop and pay the bill. I read the invoice, and I noticed that they replaced both valve cover gaskets and no work on the transmission. (I didn't know that I had that problem.) I was sure that was transmission fluid and not motor oil. I took it home and noticed I had a big oil leak coming from the right valve cover. So, I took it back. Later, I get a call that it was ready; I return home and, again, the same oil leak. I return it again. This time, they put on new valve covers (at no charge). I return to pick it up, and the guy at the front desk said, "Do you know that you have a blown head gasket?" (No, I didn't know that I had that problem.) I get it home and check it out. I DIDN'T have a blown head gasket, but I still had that same oil leak. I return the truck again and told them to take their time, but fix it. Weeks later, no call. I called them, and they said it was ready. I returned home and, yes, they fixed that leak, but then I found a small leak on the left valve cover (I hate leaks). It would drip overnight on the manifold and smoke until burned off. It had to be fixed. I decided to check the transmission fluid because I still had the transmission leak, and the tip of the dip stick broke off in my cleaning rag. The lower three inches of the tip had been brazed back on the stick, but failed. Those DIP STICKS could not even fix a dip stick. That was the last straw. So, I ordered a new dip stick and got a new gasket set and installed them myself. At this point, I had spent about $950 and still had a transmission leak. I will be taking my truck to a competitor to get that transmission leak fixed right. BEWARE. read more

My wife took her vehicle in for service. They discovered a problem and told her she would need to replace the transmission. We took the truck to another transmission shop in Southridge area and they were able to fix it for $300. My wife felt the service men were honest at AAMCO and if you only need fluids and filter change they do a good job. If you have an issue with your tranny take it somewhere else. read more
