Came in for an alignment on 9/5/26. At first was told…read more1.5hrs. Car wasn't done until 5 hrs after drop off. Upon picking up, I noticed my car was washed. They put my car through the tunnel wash without my permission or authorization. My car is only hand washed and detailed to prevent scratches and swirls. Those tunnel washed causes a lot of damages from the spinning brushes and lack of upkeep. I noticed scratches and swirls all over my car and brought it up to the service advisor for my car, Destinee. My car had just received a full detail recently so my paint was flawless from scratches and swirls and water spotting. She brought the service manager out and they basically told me to go screw myself. Saying customers usually ask for it. But guess what. Not all customers are the same and have the same wants and needs. When making my appointment there was NO notice saying my car will receive a wash. When I arrived dropping off my car, Destinee did not mention once anything about a car wash. How was I suppose to know my car would be washed through a tunnel wash? And how was I suppose to know to decline this service? This is my first time at a dealership getting serviced and Destinee knew because she asked if it was my first time. Big negligence and incompetence on their part. Secondly, my alignment still feels off. My steering wheel was to the right when driving straight before and now it's to the left. Under law, they aren't allowed to do any service on cars without customers authorization and I did not authorize a car wash service. Emailed both the general manager and service manager for compensation to have my car detailed again by my detailer to fix their fuck up. Service advisor admitted fault for not bringing up the car wash service, ultimately resulting in my paints damage.

Said dealership warned us about six months ago that my rotors were shot and even dangerous, and seemed reluctant to let us take the car away, since we didn't have the money just sitting in the account to cover that level of repair. I've been carefully babying the brakes since then. After saving up enough, in the interest of convenience (distance from home), possibly saving money, and getting a second opinion, we dropped it off two nights ago at Salem County Auto Repair, with the list of what we were told/what we thought it needed. They called us the next day with the assessment: it doesn't need rotors, even the pads are still fine, but the brakes just needed adjusting. Oh! My! Gosh! They could easily have done the rotor job, made the money, and we'd never have known the difference, but they didn't. We'd asked for a tune-up & oil change. They said that it could maybe use an oil change but they had the records of when they did the last tune-up and, even though some time had passed, the car really didn't have enough miles to warrant a full tune-up. We've brought the car here, before, just because sometimes we're too lazy to drive the 25-ish miles to the dealership, it's older, and some things are just mechanical, not make/model-specific and "any shop can do them". We've always been very pleased with the work, the customer service, the promptness and especially the prices. They have actually not won over just one customer but all three of us (and our cars) in the immediate family.
