Looking for a new storm door. To start, several sample doors were taped off and inoperable so was unable to tell how they opened or closed. Was told their forklift driver messed them up. So you don't replace them? They did not have the one I wanted in stock, so I asked the woman (Mary) working in that department if she could check if they were available at other locations. After a very few taps in her computer she said they're not available at any of the nearby stores. I couldn't check for myself because even with their internet you can't really get service inside the store. So I asked if they could order it and ship it to my home. Nope, it would have to be shipped to the store. Then I asked told to just order I myself online. I walked away for a few minutes, then went to ask another question. Mary was on the phone with a customer and didn't know I was standing there. She hung up then called whoever she was talking to an asshole. Really? One of the most unprofessional encounters I've ever had. When finally got out of the internet vacuum, I discovered that several of the stores in the surrounding area do indeed have the door I wanted. Oh how much I love going to home depot. Every time I step into this store, I always remember that I need to grab additonal items. This store has me always buying new things for project pieces. One of my absolute favorite sections is the paint section. I rely on this section in order to refinish furniture for my business. They have a vast variety of colors and they can color match even. The employees at the counter are always helpful as well. They have great spray cans, chalk paint, waxes, brushes, and paint supplies. I even found some poly concrete material to fix up the holes in my garage flooring. Another section I enjoy is the tools and hardware. I always look at the air tools and power tools for new things. I just got an aersome air tool staple gun and it works perfect. It was super cheap and its useful. I used it to staple plastic sheeting all of my walls to protect them from paint. They have different types of spray guns, sanders, and other tools. I also like to look at the hardware section to see if I find new ones for specific pieces. At this location, I always easily find someone to help me. When we purchased all new blinds for our new home, an employee helped us for over an hour with sizing and cutting of didferent blinds. Everyone is so helpful. Another amazing thing is the pro account. It is free to sign up. They send you an email of purchases to keep track. They also send tdifferrnt coupons. I bave also received coupons in the mail for 15% off multiple times. These coupons aresuper useful. If you sign up for emails they send some all the time. There's a guy who works I think primarily in the paint department, white hair kinda tall I think idk I didn't pay much attention. But every time I've gone in there recently I've had the misfortune of seeing and interacting with him. The first time was actually in the appliance department I was looking at refrigerators and said "we should get this one" to which he interjected and said "you gotta get a job first" completely out of nowhere. There was no talk about my employment or anything. It was completely inappropriate. Lastly just today I went in to get some paint, and showed him a color I wanted on my phone. He gestured a bunch of times like "what do u want me to do with that" and just looked at me for a while. He just has an attitude every time I've interacted with him and I've been nothing but nice and respectful so I don't know if he's just been having a rough time or what but steer clear of that guy he makes u feel judged for being there it's weird. But other than him I've always had an overall pleasant experience here except for a Milwaukee stand light my mom ordered came used and damaged. But normally the staff is helpful and kind, and it's usually easy to find what I'm looking for. So while I do recommend this location I also recommend to avoid a white haired guy who walks around like everyone stole his lunch money. read more

This morning I struck out at Menards for a brand called Nu Play chocolate brown rubber mulch nuggets. None in stock. A delivery truck won't be in till Thursday night, SO I can't wait that long. Need to finish my project today while I have the will power and energy. :) I decided to call this Home Depot on my cell with SUCCESS and make a drive since I was told they had 50 bags on hand. Years ago (10) I shopped for the same rubber mulch for a project in the backyard purchased by Home Depot on Hall Rd. I arrived and parked my SUV over by the garden center to make a quick shopping experience. I also found a dollie cart in the parking lot basket area to put the bags on instead of a basket. As I was walking in the greenhouse area of the garden center, I saw hanging baskets, perennials, Flats and six packs of annual flowers. Also plants in 6 inch, 9 inch, 1 gallon and 2 gallon pots. I guess from the hot sun and then too much rain the last two weeks, 80% of the flowers either look like they were burned from the Sun brown or lack of water or just very stressed out so I did not buy anything... only 10 bags of Mocha Brown rubber mulch nuggets! I approached a customer service employee by the name of *Peggy*.. We walked over to the mulch section and found it to be empty although there was a pallet way up on the top shelf ready to be brought down for my purchase. The 50 bags were sitting with plastic wrapped around them so Peggy called Mike to work his magic on the Hi-Lo and bring the pallet down to ground level so I can make my purchase and be on my way to run a few more errands of my day. After a 10-15 minute wait I made my purchase of 10 bags at 6.49 per bag, 0.8 cu ft. Brand name Vigoro. Photo attached. 12 year color guarantee, animals and birds do not like it + won't dig in it. It Will not fade, wash away like shredded mulch every 2 to 3 years. Rubber mulch saves time and spreads effortless since its lightweight. Thank you to Mike and Peggy as they loaded the bags on the shopping dollie cart. Great teamwork, appreciated it! MY time of shopping at this location was 30 minutes.. thank goodness the area was not busy at all in the morning due to a weekday ? ! I'm kind of disappointed in Home Depot. I had to special order a screen door for the front of my house. For some reason the door is bigger than the typical screen doors a home owner can buy. Its like buying odd pant sizes, you know 35 waist and 29 length. I made the purchase from Home Depot, in their door department and was told two weeks. I was also told that a Home Depot employee would call when the order was at the store so I could pick up the door. After the third week of no phone calls I went in to find out what was going on and was eventually told the door had a arrived about five days after the order. Terrible service! I purchased 3 appliances a month ago, only to find out they were out of stock and nobody informed until I call the store. After speaking with the Store Manager about my situation, all he said was I can refund your money. Sad to see that more brick and mortar stores don't value their customers. Do NOT get items installed from this store. I just moved into a new construction and purchased items from Home Depot regularly starting off. However, their installation team/contractors have been an absolute nightmare to work with. For instance, I bought a washer/dryer from Home Depot and paid for delivery/installation. Upon arriving, the delivery drivers (who are also the installers) attempted to walk through my house in shoes which were JUST dirtied from outside. When I asked them to wear foot protection or remove their shoes, they expressed they didn't have foot protection in their truck and would have to drop it off and return. I called Home Depot for an update and they had NO COMMUNICATION with the drivers. Not only that, they only give you 2 days to check for damages/defects, regardless of it was installed or not. How is one supposed to check for issues if it isn't even unboxed or installed? I also paid for a garage door installation which wouldn't close fully after the installer left. Home Depot made an empty promise to call me back and ultimately didn't even check up. I had to inspect it myself and found he didn't install the sensors correctly. Once again, DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE FOR INSTALLATIONS! They hold no accountability for any issues experienced through their contractors, have extremely poor communication, and will extend no offer to resolve issues experienced by customers. read more

I was embarrassed today as my family was spending $500 on the low end and a lady with short hair and john Lennon glasses shamed my 21 year old son for sitting on a john deere tractor before we bought it. She made a horrible effort in the store in front of my wife and I and our son and twin 19 year old daughters to say stop what your doing and be careful of others. First of all he is 21 and we run a landscaping business. She was apparently upset from another customer and to make things worse she continued to the follow him around the store. After 20 years of loyalty to this company I am sad to say it is over. I am a small business owner that spends a lot of money here exclusively. I was just denied a return for the first time due to a new policy. I normally make all of my own purchases on my credit card so there is an electronic receipt. I was stuck on a job site and had employees running to the store for parts so I do not have receipts this time. In short, I wanted my store credit of $405 to walk right back in and spend another $1500 dollars and apparently there is nothing anyone can do for me. Even after speaking with customer care I was informed that they actually do not care. Even after explaining that it is a poor business decision to lose a customer that spends 50k or more per year over a $400 store credit they still do not believe it is that important. I am disappointed in their decision but this isn't even the worst part. The worst part is that they have forced me to become a customer at Lowes. The customer service desk at the 23 Mile and Gratiot store is the absolute worst. ATTITUDE! I am finally posting after about a half dozen times walking out of the store after picking up online orders/returns saying to myself, why do I shop here!? They have no common courtesy to customers. Very disappointed with this store and their supplier Whirlpool. Our refrigerator died in September 11th so we went to the Chesterfield, MI store to purchase one. We looked at many models, many of which were out of stock and or back ordered, I get it... the world's supply chain is all fouled up, no problem. We chose a model that was "for sure" in stock at their warehouse, the salesperson even showed me where they had 10 in stock on his screen. He then explained they were so busy, the first available delivery date was October 1st. but "ASSURED" me they had it and we "WOULD" get it on the 1st, when I questioned if that would be a firm date. Fast forward to today, I get an automated call informing me I would not be getting my order, which is now OUT OF STOCK at the warehouse and our new delivery date is Nov 12th. I proceeded to call the number they gave me, talked to a nice lady (not her fault) who told me she couldn't do anything for me. I then called the store spoke to a nice guy (not his fault) and they cannot do anything either. l did learn one thing from the store person though, and this is what led me to write this review (never written one before and will most likely never write one again). I learned, their Policy is to bill on the day of order, not the date of receipt. So they get their money up front and I'm quite sure they pay Whirlpool when due, so the only one getting the short stick is me, now waiting 60 days (minimum, who knows if they can meet this new commitment) for my order THAT WAS IN STOCK!. buyer beware when purchasing appliances from this store. I recently took advantage of Black Friday pricing Home Depot was promoting to purchase all new appliances. I, like most people, want to purchase items I seldom do purchase and have the entire experience go without any problems. I believe that having the correct measurements of the space where I want the appliance to sit should be enough. Well, check that idea out the window. Here is a list of "problems" I experienced during the entire purchasing process: -Refrigerator: Counter depth vs regular depth. Counter is smaller and costs more. No Floor model in the make and model we wanted. Had to travel to Lowes and ABC warehouse to find one. Dishwasher: Again, no Floor model in the make and model we wanted. Had to travel to Lowes and ABC warehouse to find one. I was required to purchase a 110 volt power cord ($10). I already have one. Microwave: No expertise on how to install with the type of ventilation that is best for my home. Stove: Luckily no problems with this one Washer: choice of rubber hoses or steel braided hoses, I am told having rubber hoses is bad due to they can split in 10 years. What? And now my favorite, the dryer: Normally, all dryer exhaust is configured to go out the back. This requires to turn on the extra brain power to configure to route the 4" flexible hose. The ideal result is to have the dryer up against the wall but if you have to allow an additional 4" of space because of the hose then you could have a less than desirable placement of the dryer. I found out you can purchase a "Side Vent Kit" from the manufacture. HD employee did not know this. I found a kit that would work perfectly. Yay! Wait, for Gas dryers you can only use the side vent kit if the exit is away from the gas intake. Again No one in HD knew this. At least that is what I suspect. I think they are only there to get the sale. They tell you anything to get the sale. If you have a problem then they do not care and get "the manager" hahaha. The reason I am writing this complaint is I have had enough of dealing with big box stores hiring part-time people and throwing them into a position where they absolutely do not know what they are doing. So, Home Depot did a carpet installation today and decided that they didn't want to haul away my old carpet!!! I was shocked! It clearly states in the contract that the existing carpet would be hauled away. But, when they got here they said it was "stained" (ummm, I'm sorry, isn't that one of the reasons why you get new carpet in the first place?!). If you look in the pictures it seems that their Town and Country van was packed with all the carpet they were going to install that day and they just didn't have the room. Another thing, I find it was kind of strange that they are using a normal van and not a work truck... so anyone else looking to buy carpet from Home Depot know that they won't take your old carpet and they leave your new carpet out in the elements since they can't shut the doors to their van. I was very disappointed in the paint department. I brought in a sample and asked the guy to match it exactly as I was going to cover up marks on the wall. He obviously did not know his job First of all he left me waiting three times when I went back to the desk to get my paint. Finally on the third time I went back to he counter....... after about 20 minutes.... he said "I could not mix your paint because I did not know what grade you wanted". He could have said that the first time I was there. Now I wasted 20 minutes. I confirmed it was flat paint not gloss. When I asked what the grade of paint was compared to the cheaper one he said "It covers up marks better". That was so wrong. ..... It does not cover marks better.... what it does is it makes it easier for marks to be wiped off the wall. I was told this when I went back by a different sales person. When I put it on the wall it was gloss. After doing my entire home with blotches of shinny paint I was back to the store. They of course exchanged the paint for flat paint. I have to do the job all over again. I hope it covers this time. They need to get more qualified sales people at this store. Painting is a huge job and not something you want to repeat right after you completed the job. I will go to another store for my paint next time. read more

Went there with a sump pump problem on a hi end pump I bought from them . At the service desk was treated like I stole it! when asked them to lookup my purchases in there computer " O I see u have bought a few things but this is not in there"".. I'm a handyman who has been shopping at depo since they arrived in Michigan . even went to the plumbing dept to get some help no luck . No suggestion to buy a aftermarket watchdog replacement switch.the pump switch is a common problem. Thanks for nothing folks!! Someone made fraudulant charges with my debit card in this store. I provided them with the time and date and they won't even look at the video camera. They claim that they can't legally look at the tape but then why do they have it in the first place if they can't use it? We all know that they use it to prosecute shoplifters in order to protect themselves. I would give NEGATIVE stars if possible. Ordered 1 standard window and 1 standard patio door wall to be installed. The sales consultant, STEVEN KESSELHON, came out on Saturday 9/15/18. He assured us that we could have a Saturday installation NO PROBLEM. When the project leader, Calvin, called to set up the install appt, he said we would have to get approval through the install manager, GARY HAASE. So we contacted Home Depot and were directed to FRANK SCARPACI, the District Sales Manager. Frank assured us that we could get a Saturday install date. We did eventually get set up for a Saturday, but the appt was pushed out 8 weeks, our original lead time to have the project complete was 4-6 weeks. We decided to go with Home Depot specifically for the Saturday appt and short lead time. So the day of our install, 11/17/18 which was scheduled between 8am-10am, I received a call from the install department at 8:12am that the frame of our new door wall was damaged and they didn't know how it happend and they needed to re-order it. So the crew came out to install the window, but we had to wait for the door wall. The lady on the phone said it would be about 2-3 weeks before the new one came in and we would need to set another install for that. I found out later one of the people loading the door wall onto the truck dropped it and cracked it the day of the install.The day of the install, we e-mailed Frank, with no response. We sent several emails and left several voicemail messages with Frank and Steve to try to get our situation fixed. We did not receive a response from anyone for almost 2 weeks. Finally, the install manager, Gary, called to address the situation. Unfortunately, he was of no help and we stressed the importance of speaking with someone that could address the issue we were having. Today, 12/3, I received a call from Calvin the project manager to set up an install date for the door wall. He said the product would be in on 12/13 which is 4 weeks from our original install date. I stated we, once again, needed a Saturday install and he said he would need to contact Gary the install manager. So, instead of going through the middle man, I called corporate and called Gary myself. GARY HAASE was extremely rude and unprofessional on the phone. I was trying to explain to him what I was calling for and what I was looking for in order to fix the situation and he kept cutting me off and would not let me complete a sentence. He was not listening to my complaints and why I was upset about what was happening. He then told me that I was making a big deal out of nothing. I then said that if it was so difficult to set up a Saturday appt, the salesman, STEVEN KESSELHON, should not have done so and t hat it was shitty that he promised something to make a sale. Gary, then asked me not to swear because it was rude and disrespectful and asked if I could agree not to. I tried explaining that I did not feel respected and no it was not fair to ask me that considering the circumstances. Before I could finish explaining myself (without cussing) Gary very rudely hung up on me. We will now be canceling our door wall since it such a hassle and inconvenience for Home Depot to perform their job duties to make sure they have satisfied customers. DO NOT purchase ANY home services with Home Depot, they will say whatever you want to hear to make the sale and then the rest of the employees will avoid any and all communication so they don't have to be responsible for their mistakes.
