Cute place, I got a refresher that was not good. Tasted like juice. Also got a cream cheese croissant, that was good a bit too buttery for me. But it was good. A bit pricey I paid $13 for a medium refresher, and a croissant Medium refresher was listed for $6, so the croissant was also $6.. service was ok, did not greet us or acknowledge us, no pleasantries at all. My friend got a Biscoff latte she really liked it, got a muffin and baklava.. both pastries good. We took the pastries home, still warm and fresh. read more

Was finally able to give MOTW a try after being on my radar for over a month now and am happy to have found a new good coffee option in the Naperville/Plainfield area. This is a big open cafe that had lots of available seating on a late saturday afternoon and offers a nice variety of drinks and food. I'm not the biggest fan of pumpkin but I went on a limb and ordered the Pumpkin Pie White Mocha off their seasonal menu and it is one of the better fall flavored lattes that I have had this year. They don't overdo it with the sweetness or spices so it was a nice balanced drink pick me up. I hadn't had lunch so the baked empanadas in the pastry case were just calling to me when I placed my order. Although the butter chicken sounded the most interesting I ended up going with the halal beef, bacon, egg and cheese. The staff offered to warm it up and also some sauce options: a sriracha aioli or mango chutney. The aioli seemed like the obvious choice but I opted for the mango chutney for some reason but this ended up being a great move as the breading and really took on an even more tasty breakfast quality with the sweet tang of the mango added. The filling in the empanada was also notable: A few nice sized strips of well seasoned beef wrapped in fluffy scrambled eggs and cheese with bits of bacon too. All in all the food and drinks were good but I did feel that the price point was still a bit high. More so for the empanada than the drink though. In any case I will more than likely be stopping into MOTW again in the future. read more

I give the coffee and pastries, as well as the customer service 4 stars. She was patient as I debated what pastry to try. I came on a Saturday, while patrons should clean up after themselves, if they don't, the restaurant should. A number of the tables needed to be wiped. read more

A friend and I stopped in at MOTW and loved it! We needed a spot that had sugar free syrups and thankfully MOTW has them. This location is new to the area and it is clean, bright and beautiful. The staff member that helped us was very nice and patient. Since it was our first time there we asked for recommendations which she did offer. I tried the date cardamom latte with almond milk. It was a little too sweet for my liking, however, overall it was great. I love how all the flavors came together and are bold. I also tried the spinach and feta empanada. These empanadas are not made in house, they are from the vendor, Savory Crust. They do list these empanadas as halal, but TBH I'm not convinced they are. I've had food from this vendor previously and I'm not sure I would consider them halal friendly. Aside from that - the empanada was just as great as I remembered it. The dough was flaky and cooked perfectly. Everything inside the empanada was divine. My 1 'con' about it was the sauce is an upgrade here vs at Savory Crust the sauce comes with it. read more

Had the best latte and chai we've had in quite sometime! This welcoming spot is clean, beautifully decorated and friendly. Bring immediately greeted as we walked in help us transition from our sleepy hangover. Ordered typical pastries. Took off 1 star as the muffin was dry and the chocolate croissant was soggy. Nice new cafe that opened recently! Super spacious, cool drink menu (mostly chai/lattes), and nice staff. They seem to be very mission oriented, and be yemeni/middle eastern owned! There's a dedicated prayer section in the back as well. I went there for reading, and stayed there for several hours. The environment was great for quietly learning or working. I ordered an unsweetened small Chai and a Pistachio Milk Cake. It was my first trying the milk cake, and it was literally impressive! The cream above the cake had the most perfect sweetness, thickness, texture, and flavor combination. The cake itself was moist with milk, and tasted a little cold in the middle, which was just right for the summer. The Chai was normal as a standard one. Overall, I had a nice experience there! The serving people were friendly and polite as well. I'd probably go back again for the milk cake! read more

We had been to the Lombard location of MOTW before and weren't overly impressed. The Naperville location felt a little more low key. The interior is fairly spacious. There's a small interfaith prayer space. There's also a few games to play. We ordered a Yemeni tea, a cappuccino, a Biscoff milk cake, and a chicken pot pie. My wife enjoyed the Yemeni tea and felt it wasn't too sweet. The cappuccino was okay; the milk wasn't foamed well, but the coffee was good. The Biscoff milk cake was superb; moist and flavorful without being too sweet. The chicken pot pie was pretty good, but somewhat lacking in flavor; thankfully there was a mango dipping sauce included with it. The bathroom was clean. Pricing was on par with other specialty coffee shops, and service was excellent. Overall, a very nice cafe. read more

On our way to the grocery store, we stopped at MOTW for coffee and a bite to eat. I found out through the staff that they have been opened a month. I also found out that this is a franchise with other locations across the US. The coffee shop is spacious with plenty of tables, a quiet prayer space as well. The blue lamps are gorgeous and coordinate well with the floor and the ceramic tiles used in the shop. I knew upon walking in that this place had a Middle Eastern feel with the mural on the wall and the women staff with head coverings. I found out that MOTW stands for Muslims of the World which came to be with the anti-Muslim sentiment. Their mission is that "every sip is a statement of solidarity and every visit a step towards greater understanding and unity. We invite you to be a part of our ongoing journey, to experience the essence of MOTW in every corner of our café, and to continue spreading the message of hope and humanity that has always been at the heart of our mission." Went here as I was in the area for car repairs & was pleasantly surprised that there's a MOTW - like the one in Lombard. The service was great the employees are polite and courteous, the owner is around asking for feedback, he's very kind. The ambiance inside is cozy and warm. the employees were very kind and helpful, the place was cute, and my the coffee was tasty, which is why i'm not rating this place one star. however, a very unpleasant situation happened while i was there. a man took a drink out of his coffee and turned it back for it not being hot enough. the employee then dumped the coffee that was drank out of into a shared steaming pitcher and re-steamed it! that really grossed me out. both me and the person i went to this place with are feeling very sick after drinking coffee from here. read more
