The Dubai Strawberries were delish. My first time having them and I can see why people love them. The strawberries were nice and fresh and the pistachio crème and chocolate were smooth and not too sweet. Came here on Easter since we wanted Boba and no other place was open...but this place has so much more with sweet crepes and waffle cones. We got the fruity dose crepe for $16 and I also got taro milk tea with boba for $7. Best advice...DON'T come here for boba! It's probably the worst boba I've tasted in a while. The boba was a little hard and not fresh. I also tasted my daughter's horchata tea with boba and the horchata was grainy and too much cinnamon. But the crepe was delicious so definitely come here for sweet crepes. Service was good and there's plenty of seating. The whole time we were there it was pretty full of customers. I visited Sugar Dose and was hopeful for a delicious dessert but sadly, it was just okay. We ordered their mochi waffles in 4 different flavors: strawberry, lotus, chocolate and pistachio. Now here's why I am giving it 3 stars instead of 5: The strawberry sauce tasted like a basic Hershey strawberry sauce. The other flavors were decent with the pistachio was the only tasty one. The consistency of the waffles wasn't chewy like I expected it to be like mochi usually was. Also the service was a bit of a downer because I was getting heartburn and asked for a glass of milk with my order. Instead of charging me a buck or two they said a small glass of plain milk would be $4! I feel like they need to cut down their menu and just focus in on what they are good at. Stopped by Sugar Dose to try the viral Dubai chocolate and we were definitely not disappointed. We came at around 6 pm on a Saturday, and the place was packed. They have a handful of tables, but many people just picked up their orders and left. The milkshakes and crepes seemed to be what most people were getting. We opted for the pistachio kunafah bar and the lotus kunafah cup. The pistachio kunafah bar was decadent. The chocolate was smooth and rich, and the filling had a nice crunch. The pistachio taste did not overpower the chocolate, and it was not too sweet. The lotus kunafah cup was our favorite. The strawberries pair well with the chocolate and lotus sauce. The kunafah is a great addition for texture and flavor as well. For a dessert option, Sugar Dose is slightly expensive. I stopped by to the Sugar Dose today to see what the hype is all about - from outside the spot has a standard ambiance but inside they have a cool chocolate fountain and is very nicely lit up. Customer service was fast in terms of taking our order but depending on the rush the time may be longer for you to receive your treats. I ordered 6 strawberry pieces covered in chocolate and an order of the Nutella Bubble Dose for a grand total of $27.48 - pretty expensive. The Nutella Bubble Dose was solid! Definitely recommend this but the strawberry was sour :/ Worth checking out once for sure! read more

Greeted when we walked in and had time to look at the menu without being pressured into ordering , which was nice. Staff has really nice hospitality! Saw a takeout order being prepared by staff and their to go packaging was super cute, function, and eco friendly (: it was branded cardboard I think. I understand the Dubi Chocolate is the in thing right now, but to have a restaurant base their prices on that concept can make the rest overpriced. Do NOT get the berry dose. Freezer burned ice cream is really nasty. Everything else, waffle fruit condensed milk etc, was mediocre at best. It also takes about 25 mins per order. I saw the reviews that it takes an hour for their orders and at 20+ mins per order, if there are 4-5 orders ahead of you, then yes you're waiting an hr. So do not go if you're in a hurry. They need maybe 2-3 more workers and also figure out how to manage their online orders. The food is instagram photo worthy but the taste and wait is not worth it. read more

The boba drinks are delicious and the crepe dessert was so good. The crepe was very sweet, but they have flavors of boba drinks that aren't overly sweet if you don't like too sweet. My friend got a Nutella ice cream bubble waffle that wasn't overly sweet either and was so good. We also told them it was my friends birthday and they played a birthday song! I had seen this location on my TikTok for you page. on their TikTok video, they stated that they were one of the only ones in Illinois that create the now viral Dubai chocolate bar. From the pictures on yelp this place looks like they make some fantastic sweet creations. We arrived around 7 o'clock in the evening there were about five people inside and it was complete madness. There is nowhere that tells you where to order. Most people are just standing there with a dumbfounded look as to where do we stand? Who do we talk to to place an order? I stood by the register for about 10 minutes before anyone behind the counter acknowledged me There were people that were just pushing in front of me grabbing things there was no order as to who was next in line I spoke with one of the workers who looked aggravated to be there. I told him that I would like to try one of his viral Dubai candy bars there of course is also a language barrier. The people who run this establishment I do not know if they fully understand what I was trying to tell them he began to point to other items and tell me it will be like this. I had no idea what he was talking about. Finally, I think we came to understanding what I wanted. We then just sat and waited for him to give us a chocolate bar. There was already premade all that needed to be done. Was a pistachio drizzle. We waited 10 minutes to get the chocolate bar while waiting another customer came up to us and said are you in line? Everyone was confused. The chocolate bar which was the size of a rice crispy treat cost $10. It was extremely overly sweet. I'm glad that I was able to try this candy bar, but the whole experience was not something that I would ever want to repeat. This is why I'm giving two stars , they need to get some science or convey to their customers while they're walking in where they need to stand in order and where they need to pick up their items. The crunch was audible, the chocolate tasted chocolate-y than sugary, and the whole experience was filling. I decided to try the melted chocolate strawberries served in a cup, but to my disappointment, the strawberries were barely coated in chocolate. I loved the chocolate pistachio bar that we got from here. The actual product was great. The wait time for a candy bar that should have been ready made was 45+ minutes. I get that they serve people as they come but there should be some sort of sense of "hey this is an order I can finish quick versus making these entire crepes/drinks first." I think if they just had one person filling the orders for people wanting chocolate maybe that would help the situation of wait times. If you want to get a crepe or something that has to be made right there, then that makes more sense that the waits will be longer. There were people waiting for an hour plus before us because someone ahead of them placed a 150$ order. Understandable again, crepes, drinks etc., but when the next two orders are just one chocolate bar a piece, those people should be given the product immediately. This was our TO GO place for Dubai Strawberries and Dubai chocolate. We used to LOVE it I don't know if they were off today or they are going downhill. We went tonight and it was not too busy. Our strawberries were cut up and old. You could tell they cut off the super squishy part and put what they thought was edible into the cup. They were not good at all. This review is being written based off of our bad experience AFTER waiting OVER 25 minutes in line to order, AFTER paying almost $90 for our order, and AFTER waiting 1 hour to get 4 drinks, and 4 orders of their knafe chocolates. Once we received the order, I brought it to the cashiers attention that one of the drinks was incorrect and that we ordered a milkshake and NOT a Frappe. We had 3 kids with us and we were specific on what they all wanted. He messed the order up and after approaching him about it, he got extremely defensive and said "I have very good photogenic memory and i specifically remember what you ordered!" Mind you, after us; there was about another 30 people that had ordered from him and to say he "remembers" is such B S. And it's photographic memory not photogenic!! lol He made a mistake and refused to correct the order for us and walked away work such an attitude. I asked him if he could take back the drink and he said "NO!" - walked away and ignored me. Review about our order: Oreo milkshake was ok Pistachio milkshake was lacking flavor and was very milky Cookies and cream frappe with boba was good And the last drink was supposed to be a milkshake but he gave us a large frappe. The chocolate knafe was ok - wouldn't even compare them to the famous Dubai chocolate knafe bars. And not to mention, I had to check the box to see if the order was right and they didn't even add the pistachio cream and nuts on top. I had to bring that to his attention and funny thing is, he apologized and said "I'm sorry, my bad I forgot that!" How ironic with his photographic memory. Overall, this place is not worth the wait. Tables were not wiped down once after guests left. As a matter of fact, I had to go get paper towels from the bathroom and a bottle of spray cleaner to wipe down our table cause it was so sticky and gross. They didn't replenish the napkin bins for guests at each table so once again had to get some from the restroom. The bathroom was filthy and needed to be cleaned and maintained. Their staff takes way too long to get one order done and really needs a better system. To make guests wait 1 hour for a milkshake and ice cream is absurd! Save yourself the time and hassle and go to Melt 'n Dip! They are clean, quick service, quality desserts and drinks and very nice! A business that isn't willing to rectify their mistake, is NOT a business I will ever step foot and support. read more
