I was very excited to try these cookies but was sadly disappointed. I ordered a gluten free chocolate chip cookie that she told me was frozen but could be warmed up in about 5 minutes. I was happy to wait and I was handed the box it felt warm but once I was in the car and excited to break off a small piece on the way home I realized it was still frozen. I also ordered a crème brulee gluten free/keto cookie. It smelled delicious but the texture was dense and crumbly at the same time without a lot of flavor. The shop is cute and they had some festive Halloween themed cookies for those that tolerate gluten but for the gluten sensitive, I think there are better options. read more

I had Half Baked Goodness on my list for a few months and finally got a chance to try it. It's located in a large strip mall near Half Priced Books. As with other gourmet cookie places, there are no tables and chairs inside; it's takeout only. Service was friendly. They have a selection of always-available cookies, and a weekly selection of two specialty cookies. We ordered a cupcake cookie, a creme brulee, a celebration cookie, and a keto chocolate chip cookie. Oh my goodness! These are some of the best cookies I've had. The cupcake, creme brulee, and celebration were all delicious, especially the first two. The keto cookie being sugar-free was not super tasty, but it has far less sugar than the regular cookies, so it's a worthy trade-off. All gourmet cookie places are expensive, but these are way better than grocery store cookies. If you've got a craving, this is the place to go. read more

Cookie bakery located in a strip mall! Super convenient that it's located next to half priced books and Jewel. We got a 4 pack of cookies and chose the cherry crumble, celebration cookie, Texas sheet cake and crème brûlée. I thought the cookies were delicious except for crème brûlée. I honestly really wanted to love it but it was hard to break apart without getting your fingers all dirty and overall didn't taste that good. The other three cookies were great though! I was craving some dessert and called this place to ask if they had any gluten free cookies, they normally do but they had sold out and the lady offered to make them for me but I was in a rush. She had told me the keto cookies are all gluten free which meant MORE OPTIONS for me! My husband came across this place, and tried their chocolate chip cookie. He came home raving about the super nice owner, and the unbelievably great cookie he had. So a few days later, we went in and bought a four pack of cookies. We got chocolate chip, celebration (white chocolate chip covered in sprinkles), peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin. I also sampled the snickerdoodle cookie while we were in the store. All delicious! These are some amazing cookies! Unlike Crumbl cookies (which ironically is directly across the street), these cookies are all about the actual cookie....not all about a ton of frosting or toppings. If you are a lover of homemade cookies, these are all about the actual cookie....not so much about how pretty or fancy they are. Classic flavors done really well. A huge plus is Half Baked puts out day old cookies as samples, so you can try before you buy. Also, the owner of this shop is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. This is it! Despite Naperville being a well known suburb, we did not have a really good fresh cookie place, not Crumbl and not the recently closed cookies and dreams. I would say this place is better than Levain(I have had it once in Chicago). I stopped in today for the first time and I was blown away by the amazing smell when I walked in. There is no seating area but oh my gosh, all the cookies look amazing. The owner and another worker were super nice and helpful. I enjoyed the sample and bought a chocolate chip oatmeal cookie and a chocolate chip walnut cookie. Both were super warm and both tasted like heaven. They tasted like what a homemade cookie should taste like and not just pure butter or pure sugar. Most of all, no tummy issues after eating these unlike what Crumbl does. They have gluten free cookies so that's on my list to try next time. They do cookie cakes as well. This is a must try cookie shop if you are in the area! It was my first time here even though I've passed by many times, I wasn't sure what to expect but Half Baked Cookies exceeded my expectations. I got their cookie of the week, it had pretzels, toffee, and chocolate chips, and flaky salt. I also got the creme brulee which I definitely recommend trying. The pictures don't justify the size. The customer service was also good, there was only one worker there but she was nice. I would also say the ambiance is welcoming, clean, and modern. There isn't seating and it's just grab and go.
