I ordered it iced with almond milk. On the second day here, I ordered it without the vanilla syrup because it was a little too sugary for my liking the first time around. I think the honey and cinnamon added enough sweetness for me without the vanilla! This coffee shop is located in a very quiet area surrounded by a hotel and apartments. It's a great spot to work from home or study since it's so quiet. The service was great and quick. The baristas were super sweet and informative. They explained every tea and my husband ended up picking a rare one which was interesting. Although he said he would never get it again because it tasted like olive oil, we loved the service behind it. I got a simple hot chocolate and it was great. This cute espresso bar is tucked behind some buildings and apartments so I hadn't noticed it the first few times I drove around the area but I am so happy I found it! They have a wide variety of espresso and cold brew drinks, as well as gelato and pastries. The coffee was on the expensive side, but very rich and high quality espresso. I ordered the iced orange mocha mio, which blends Italian chocolate, milk and espresso, and the cup is lined with thick fresh orange syrup. Never had a drink like this before and I really enjoyed it! The lavazza coffee shop is a nice little place to grab a coffee and something light and quick for breakfast. Unfortunately they don't brew decaffeinated coffee, so I had to settle for a decaf Americano. Their egg white frittata was tasty but a little greasy - I had to scrape off some of the top layer. The dining area is bright with alot of windows but not that inviting atmosphere that welcomes you to relax and stay a while. Definitely a grab and go place. read more

While it was "open", they clearly weren't ready for customers. The surfaces needed a good wiping down and the pastry display needed freshening up. The coffee product was good and the pastry was okay but greasy. The manager came out and said "hello" with a kind smile. That made up for the cashier who seemed like she'd rather be elsewhere. Now this cafe was a really nice find on the Calamos campus in Naperville, Illinois, and it quite frankly felt like I was transported back to Italy inside this cafe. Every visit was a pleasant experience in this cafe on multiple occasions during a recent business conference on the Calamos campus. The coffee espresso of course had to be very good given the Lavazza name. The interior was nicely lit, modern, and typical of Italian cafes where gelato and sandwiches are served alongside a wide variety of coffees and refreshing drinks. Very creative menu. Nice pluses: gelato scoops were only $2.50 each, and they offered great flavors like sweet coconut, nutella along with the traditional gelato flavors. Affogattos were only $5-a great price for quality gelato and espresso. Thank you Calamos for putting the effort in to getting a great cafe brand like Lavazza and ensuring they maintain their high standards. read more

I really was excited to see a LavAzza coffee shop in Naperville until I tried this place... twice! I tried it the first time and hated my cappuccino, but decide to give it another try thinking I just caught someone on a wrong day. False again. This place has the Italian name but the baristas have no idea how to make a proper coffee. My "small" cappuccino was made in their smallest cup, which looked like a 16oz. 1 espresso filled with a giant cup of milk is basically what that is. I decided to bring my "cappuccino" back to the bar to see if I could ask for a smaller cup. Understaffed and waited for 8 min with no attention. I left my giant milk cup at the bar and decided to walk out. I paid $4 for a small cappuccino I took 2 sips of and that was garbage, filled with milk. The baristas aren't properly trained; just another hourly job for them. I don't plan on returning ever. read more

I was in lavazza on the morning of 9/18/21 and there was a group of men expressing how they felt about how some may identify themselves in a very ignorant manner. With the comments being made I could immediately tell the 3 women behind the counter became uncomfortable along with myself. If this is what LavAzza caters to count me out and close it down.. I understand those 3 women are not in control of what is being said, but to sit there and be disrespected is unacceptable. I've read so much about this "atmosphere" I wanted to experience it for my first time and that's what I got. 2 stars for the smells. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE ! It doesn't MATTER if they are short staff ! We had to be some place at 1030 and it was 1015 when we started the timer on when the sandwich order would be fulfilled. 1020 another Kind reminder given at that time . All the while the people who ordered after me me got their orders from the kitchen . In fact one ordered the same sandwich and it came out as he was done ordering. 1025 So my husband went up to the counter and asked what looked like the supervisor .. and she went to the back to the kitchen , waited 2 to three minutes and she never came out . After leaving without the sandwich , I returned after dropping off my family to deal with the lack of service they provided and felt it is right to request a refund since we overpaid for something we never received. I appreciate the fact that they were transparent in what was an excuse of being short staffed , but when we have kindly asked on more than one request for our food item. Being ignored is something no customer should tolerate ! When requesting a refund , they still had issues with returning all the items we had purchased. A line was building started to build behind me and again here comes the fumbling of customers ! At the end of the day , no one's kindness should be take. I've stopped at this location twice and both times I've been very impressed. The service during my past visit was excellent. I ordered the espresso monterosa which is comprised of berry compote, condensed milk, espresso and 2 hopped cream. When the young man who was serving me went to make it he realized that they didn't have condensed milk so he asked if he could substitute for white chocolate which was very, very, good. He then brought me a complementary espresso nocciolato since they had not had the condensed milk. I was very surprised, especially since I was very happy with the substitution he had made. This extra mile in service was noticed and very appreciated. The store itself is clean and welcoming. There are food options that would be great for lunch. They also serve Gelato and and lemoncello. They weren't mean but they were not overly nice like I had read in the reviews.. But that's just how I saw it. They location was small but it had a very nice decor to it.. Stayed at The Arista Hotel for a recent business trip so checking out LavAzza one morning was an easy duhhh -- I figured it was worth the 40 feet walk and it was! I get to the office really, really early and at 6:30am I am happy to report there was absolutely no wait at LavAzza! It was so empty that I felt comfortable asking the barista a few questions and thoroughly thinking about my order before placing it. The staff were super helpful and friendly in helping me decide on my choices. Based on the barista's recommendation, I ordered the Orange Mocha Mio, and I felt pretty comfortable about this decision based on all the rave reviews on this drink. The barista warned the drink is "very sweet" so I requested him to make it less sweet. For my breakfast, I opted for one of their counter displays -- an onion chutney + egg breakfast sandwich. They toasted this for me and it was pretty cheesy and oily by the time I started eating it at work. I ended up picking at the egg, scraping off most of the chutney as it was somewhat bitter, and tossing the rest. I like that the sandwich seemed fresh, but I would probably not order this again. The Orange Mocha Mio is good! As the name implies, it's mocha + orange + milky. The orange is a bit overpowering and I think it would be much better with a muted orange flavor, but perhaps I'm being too picky. I'll definitely be back to check out the other options! read more

I've had this spot bookmarked for a while now, so I'm very happy I finally stopped by today! I actually had my first visit at the dermatologist next store, so I was pleasantly surprised to realize this is the exact spot where the Naperville Lavazza was located. I have been to their location in the city once, but just for a quick sandwich. Today was my first experience with their coffee and espresso treats. That's right...ESPRESSO. TREATS. Two of my favorite things. I ordered the Espresso Autumnale (seemed fitting for this time of year). This little morsel of heaven must have been sent down by the coffee gods themselves. It's the cutest little shot glass filled with espresso, chocolate, Carmel, whipped cream and apples. WOW. Just wow. Such a marvelous little indulgence. Like the coffee addict that I am, I of course got a classic black coffee to accompany my treat. Usually I add in milk, sugar or something flavored to my coffee, but honestly after one sip of Lavazza coffee all it really needed was just a pinch of sugar. It was so bold, rich and smooth. Very delicious. The decor is awesome. Very trendy with awesome Italian art. This location has outdoor seating too which is always a plus! The guy who took my order was very knowledgeable in their menu. He walked me through the different items they have and even offered up suggestions. And forget the crazy lines and shouting out of names like at your typical 'bucks. These baristas bring your coffee and treats right to whereever you're sitting! What service. Thanks to all the interesting places in Wheaton being closed on Sundays (blech), I was forced to discover a new spot a while back. Not too many tears were shed, though, as I soon discovered my bookmark for Lavazza in an area of Naperville that I don't often pass. My first impressions of the shop were of cleanliness and simplicity, and a corresponding lack of warm fuzziness. While I do love a clean environment, I have a soft spot for coziness and worn furniture. No matter, we soon encountered the barista, who (on a Sunday early evening) was warm and fuzzy enough to make up for the somewhat sterile atmosphere. My drink (a cappuccino) was pleasing, and my sister enjoyed her mocha. I ordered a croissant, even though they looked a bit odd, and I should have trusted my instinct. Not a typical flaky, airy croissant at all, but an oddly dense, greasy imposter. Definitely room for improvement there. I'd like to come back to try the gelato and some of the Italian, dessert-style drinks. The pictures looks intriguing. I recommend checking out Lavassa, just skip the croissant. read more

Nice little coffee shop near my hotel. Plenty of parking. I went in for a coffee & to work. Barista was really sweet and very welcoming, she hadn't heard of my drink (a breve) so she asked me how to make it and I told her. Price seemed pretty normal, I think it was about $4.25 for a 16oz drink. I was able to stay & enjoy my coffee in a regular mug. Adjacent to the Hotel Arista, this Lavazza location is a great, quiet addition to Naperville. Whenever I come to the burbs, this is my place to go. The coffee, food and gelato options are all delicious. The staff is really friendly and they keep the facility nice and clean. My *only* complaint is there every time I have come here, it's FREEZING! Whenever I mention this to the staff, they tell me that there is a problem with the AC unit and that engineering is working on fixing it. I guess it's a reoccurring problem. I have just learned to bring something to use as a blanket while I do my work. Parking is plentiful around the hotel. There's no struggle to find paid parking like at the downtown locations. Having been a former employee of the Hotel Arista many years ago (hotel front desk and gym front desk), I firmly believe that including this coffee shop next door was a smart move by Calamos. It wasn't around when I was an employee, so I'm not totally sure how long it's been in existence. Maybe within the last 2-3 years or so. Anyway, I'm a huge fan and the fact that it's a sweet 2 minute drive from my dad's house is a big convenience plus. read more

It's so amazing to be able to enjoy true European coffee and gelato specialties so close to home--literally down the street! Each visit is an opportunity to try a new LavAzza innovation in a modern, yet comfortable and inviting environment. I've tried so many espresso specialty beverages here: the nocciolato (perfect if you love espresso and nutella), the orange mocha mio (perfect for orange and chocolate fans), biccerin (espresso, hot chocolate, and cream/foam), espessone (espresso topped by their famous espesso foam), espesso (a coffee foam flavored as espresso, cappuccino, or macchiato), and cremespresso (a delicious frosty version of the espesso). Each outdoes the last one in taste, complexity, and taste bud pleasure. The staff are all very quick, accommodating, and kind. The decor is so much fun, extremely modern and yet very comfortable. My favorite wall art is the woman with the spoon mohawk and the Venetian couple sitting in water. The parking is parallel but there's always plenty in front. I have heard about Lavatsa coffee from so many people but never had the chance to try it out myself. I came in here because I scheduled a meeting with some people from A nonprofit organization that I work at. I was glad to come in and see that they had plenty of seating inside. We also have outside seating which would've been nice but the weather did not allow for us to sit outside. I got a regular light roast coffee. I was very impressed with how big the sizes are and the prices are on the higher end but still pretty reasonable. I did see that they have a ton of pastries and gelato. This is not the best place to study because of the lack of outlets around the seats. However the barista's are very friendly and are courteous. The location is kind of awkward to get to but if you're in the area I would recommend you swinging by this coffee shop. read more
