He sends you home with complete instructions on what to do for after care. He calls you himself to check on how you're feeling and see if you have any questions.

I'm only ever here when I have something catastrophic going on with my teeth (stating the obvious),…read moreand this last time it was a very infected tooth where the infection was taking out bone, affecting my sinuses, etc. I was a mess, because my teeth hate me. Dr. Swiderski told me that TWO teeth needed to be pulled, because the one next to Bad Tooth was loose (fine, just a little) and the infection had basically caused too much bone loss. As is my way, I tried to air a grievance about this (and yes, I actually said "I'd like to air a grievance!"), noting that my Googling was surely as good as Dr. Swiderski's several advanced degrees and his prestigious residency at the Mayo Clinic. Perhaps not surprisingly, I was shot down, albeit nicely considering I was of course talking nonsense. All of the assistants are wonderful too, as I kept warning them that "I'm a baby about this stuff" and "it takes a lot of novocaine to work" and making the sad face of dread. Oh, and the x-ray apparatus they have is very high-tech! Regular plates hurt my mouth because I have mandibular tori (which I didn't even know weren't normal until I was an adult), but here they have a whirring machine that rotates and magically takes x-rays. Also, because I have a lot of stuff going on with my teeth, I was happy that Dr. S. mentioned cost, as in "let's triage and get the most critical stuff taken care of first" - not because he knew anything about my financial situation, but because dental/medical stuff is expensive and most insurance (including mine) has ridiculously low caps on what they'll pay out in total for dentistry. So, the point. This was a complicated dental surgery because so much of the bone was eaten away and it involved two teeth and I'm a wimp about anything dental-related....but I'll have to go back for follow up and probably bone grafting, and I actually don't dread it. That's how nice everyone there is, and how hard they work to make sure this is as pain-free as possible, so much unlike the root canal sadistic nightmares of my youth. It's also nice of Dr. Swiderski to check in the evening after surgery to make sure we're doing okay. Overall, if you need dental surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Swiderski and crew!

I've always had really bad dental anxiety but all the workers were so lovely. They provide a warm blanket, they'll talk to you and answer all your questions. They were very kind and took good care of me, I wish I remembered all of their names so I could mention them, but I only remember a girl named Bailey and the main surgeon, I believe was Dr. Purt. I'm at home now and the numbness has long worn off, absolutely no pain. Doesn't hurt at all. They did a great job. The only discomfort I'm having is pain in my right nostril from the oxygen tube I had to have in while I went under anesthesia. I suggest having a humidifier ready for when you get done, I've been sneezing non stop and stuffing my nose with tissues.

They originally weren't able to schedule me until sometime in January but I told them was really hoping to get this done by the end of the year and much to my surprise they later called to offer me an appointment for December 29. One thing they warned me about at my initial consult was that the cone beam CT scan they were going to perform was likely to not be covered by insurance and that I might need to pay the $185 cost out of pocket. This turned out not to be the case but I appreciated the heads up and would have gladly paid it had insurance not covered it. As for the surgery itself, literally the most painful part was when they put the IV in. I was 37 at the time so I was a little worried I might not heal as well as a more typical younger patient but this didn't turn out to be the case. Post-op pain for me was pretty much zero the first couple days and peaked around 4-5 days after but was never much more than an annoyance which I easily managed with ibuprofen.

Went back next week for cavity fills. Neither my cleaner nor the gal for my fills, nor my dentist introduced themselves. Dentist (55ish grey haired balding guy) put the local on my gums for about 15 seconds. I asked about it and he said it was the normal amount of time. He put the shot in and i started screaming and kicking my feet. He took it out and i again asked about the local. He said nothing and shot me again. Screaming, kicking and an arched back this time. He then says hes gonna let it sit a bit and i decided to leave a half hour later when nobody came back. No call to see what happened up to now (week later) i did however get a call the next day to remind me of my appointment...by the way, im very used to pain as i have fybromyalgia, myofacial pain syndrome, discitis, and spondylosis. I also had taken a vicodin an hour before my appointment. Long story short, id rather have Dr Nick (from The Simpsons) do my dental work than so called "soft" touch. Be warned.

Soft touch dental of Woodburn was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I only went there…read morebecause I found out that they were 100% covered with my insurance so I was like ok I haven't had my teeth cleaned in a while and I had some work done years ago that needs to be checked on but otherwise I have good teeth. When I went in for the new patient exam they told me that they wanted to keep on eye on my crown (which we have been keeping an eye for years now) and that my two far back molar one on each side the fillings needed to be replaced. Ok that's all I need done. Well they said they do the metal fillings and I am not a fan so I said no thanks. I'll just do the cleaning at this time. So I scheduled that for that next Monday. When I checked in they were like we are doing a cleaning and two fillings. I was like no I don't want the metal fillings so just the cleaning. They were rude and was like you're getting the white. Ok thanks. When they did the injection they did something wrong and my jaw instantly hurt and swollen and I could not open my mouth as wide. Which was weird. And only my cheek was numb nothing else. So they gave another injection my tongue was getting numb they start drilling and I wasn't numb so they gave my more. My jaw is in so much pain. They did the cleaning while I was numb and they had a hard time with that because I couldn't open my mouth very wide. Go back and the do the filling. Turns out they did a tooth that they didn't even inform me that needed to be done. As well as my molar. When I checked out they then told me my crown suddenly needed replaced and I need to redo more fillings. But that was not what I was informed a few days prior. After 6 hours of my jaw still hurting I call them up and he was like oh your muscle just tensed up with the injection and that happens sometimes. face tender to touch all the way up to the temple and back down the face. He only response was take a pain killer. Today I called a different dentist because the pain is so bad and I can't eat. New dentist was able to see me today and informed me that he injected it into my cheek muscle completely and it created a pocket of fluid (the novocaine) and it couldn't escape and pretty much gave me a Charlie horse in my face. There was no need to do the injection in that location and now until my muscle finally relaxes I can't open my mouth and it's swollen and painful and I can't really eat anything because of the pain. I will never recommend this place to anyone and I will never go back I think they just wanted me to get more stuff done just to get money.
