Craving for some Indian dish so I decided to try this place out. They have an AYCE lunch special so that's a plus. Place was empty, granted it was on a Wednesday. Not a whole lot of options at the buffet line. They have butter chicken, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, pakoras, chana, and some samosas. They also have warm chai and some gulab jamon. What they had to offer was very yummy and they also give out fresh, warm naan so that was great. For the price range, which is decent, you'd get more in a non-touristy area, but business is business, I'm not fussin' about it much. Staff are friendly and attentive and making sure to promptly refill the food trays. All I know is that this place satisfied my cravings and I might comeback again, someday.

Back again--this time for the buffet at the "other" locally-owned Mt. Everest. This one in a glitzy chain area at the Inner Harbor (NOT Hampden). Service and food do not disappoint! The buffet has all the Indian/Nepalese favorites that you normally wouldn't eat at one time. Going back two times (and a third, for dessert), I was able to get rice with some of my faves, such as saag, masala, tandoori chicken, and vegetarian pakora. I enjoyed the ability to make a small salad of fresh carrots, cucumbers, peppers and lettuce (with choice of the usual dark brown sweet or green sour sauces). Lastly, I had some kheer and homemade sugared doughnut holes (gulab jamun) in silky sweet syrup. Yum! It was quiet on a Monday afternoon during the winter season, but the always on-point service and loungey background music give the feeling of an enjoyable and busy evening just about to begin... (Note: Free or metered parking "ain't" easy around these dang busy downtown Inner Harbor streets, but I found convenient metered spots just off Pratt and across from the restaurant--otherwise, just rideshare it with some friends!)

Recently opened. All new. Beautiful restaurant one block from the Inner Harbor. Food was amazing!!! Onion kulcha was enough for a table and incredible. Lamb vindaloo was mild (as I asked for it) creamy and lamb that broke apart easily. Service was attentive and caring. There is a lunch buffet. Dinner was excellent.

Amazing momos, great portion size! Highly recommend. Incredible service as well! I would come back here in a heartbeat.

If you are looking for incredible, authentic flavors served up fast in a pristine environment,…read moreHimalayan House is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk under the welcoming sign inside you can tell this place is cared for. It is a beautifully maintained, smaller restaurant that maximizes its space perfectly. The dining area is incredibly clean, cozy, and bright, featuring crisp tablecloths and an awesome "Save the Himalayas" wall mural that adds a great touch of character to the room. The service here is incredibly fast and attentive. We barely had to wait at all before our table was filled with fresh, steaming dishes. The food is where this place truly shines. Everything we ordered was packed with vibrant, well-balanced spices. Appetizers: We started with a perfectly crispy fried pakora/fritter served with sweet and tangy dipping sauces which set a high bar for the rest of the meal. The Momos: You absolutely cannot leave without trying their momos. They are perfectly doughy, juicy, and paired with an addictive orange chutney. We couldn't get enough of them. For the main course, the traditional metal thali tray offered a spectacular variety of flavors. Between the spiced chicken, seasoned potatoes, savory chickpea mixture, and beaten rice, every single component on the plate was an absolute hit. Small, clean, lightning-fast service, and exceptionally great food. Himalayan House hits all the right notes for a perfect casual lunch or dinner. I will definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu!

The spice levels here are slightly higher than some other Indian restaurants from experience, so would recommend going down one level from your usual.

It's not the best Indian I've ever had but it'll do in a pinch. I was crazing papadam and they do that very well. I like the tamarind and mint sauce and the yogurt sauce is standard but yummy. The butter chicken is flavorful and the lamp as well. The naan was okay and the biryani is quite bland. The worst thing for me is how dry the chicken is. Even though all the chicken was covered in sauce, they were somehow very dry. I'm glad I tried Nepal Place but I would try a different place before returning here.

There's a few options to choose from and after trying each one, I think Nepal House has the best prices for the best quality and flavor. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo. Each came with its own serving of rice and included generous chunks of meat. They didn't just fill up the container with sauce and call it a day, the serving size definitely reflected the price unlike some other places. The lamb vindaloo was full of flavor and spice with soft squares of potatoes. The butter chicken was creamy and comforting with the right spice level. Everything was ready on time and packed with care. I'd love to return to dine in for their lunch buffet since it seems like a great deal.

I had never tried Kumari in the past so I was excited to say something new and then learned upon sitting down that they offer buffet lunches on the weekends for about $18 all in. The service was really spectacular considering, and the tea was really delightful. Mango Lassi was too sweet. The space is quite large and they have seating on both sides of the restaurant. This is a no-frills restaurant and sometimes you have to grab silverware and napkins yourself but with two people working there and a restaurant full of people I thought the service was great. Came back for a weekend to show my husband around and thought it would be a good idea to check this place out again after so many years. Maybe the chef has changed or maybe my 25 year old had low standards - but the food wasn't good at all. Everything tasted just.. sweet. However, chai is still good and kheer wasn't too bad either. Still giving it 3 stars for all the good memories associated with it.
