We love Nepali food and were excited to try this restaurant. On Saturday night in downtown Baltimore and we were one of two tables. We order Butter Chicken, Naan, and Momos. This was the best butter chicken we have ever eaten, hands down. The Naan was delicious, too. We weren't able to finish the Momos yet, but the few that we had were tasty. Friendly and fast service. Definitely

I would have gladly paid $16.95 for sone good good but $16.95 for a mediocre lunch buffet?? No thank you. Had I known it was this much, I would have gone to the Nepal House.

I have been going to this testsujt for dine-in/carry out for nearly 5 years and it's always consistently delicious. My favorite is the goat curry(yes, it has bones in it--you get to lick your fingers ). The chicken tikka masala is also very good. One one my favorite Indian restaurants in Baltimore. Definitely worth checking out!

While Lumbini is still open for takeout and delivery, I had the chance to have dinner on a cold night before the pandemic slowly gripped the country. Daal soup, seafood pakora, saag paneer, gulab jamun, and a Kingfisher beer was the perfect meal. I hope they can fully open again soon.

I had dinner here once. The food came out extremely slow and had to take it to-go because I imagined I would come and dine for one hour, but it took 50 minutes for the food to come out. Nonetheless, the food was excellent and thought I'd give this place another try. Then comes today. I went in for lunch before noon and the same server showed me to the same table as last time. The place is quieter than other Indian buffets and less claustrophobic since it's more bigger. The food is actually better and seems healthier than other places. The service is excellent; it seems all buffets are trying to compete with each other. They will refill your water after each sip! I dined for $12.99 (lunch buffet) and it was worth it. Will come back.

Was visiting Baltimore and ended up eating at this place last minute... food was incredible! Highly recommended Update: Had to come back the next day because was craving their food so much! They remembered us and our orders, and were treated wonderfully! Definitely my new favorite Indian place.

Mango lassi: My least favorite part of the meal, this lassi tasted more like a drinkable yogurt than the sweetened mango smoothie I expect.

This review is based on delivery (through Grubhub). Delivery was quick and polite and the food arrived piping hot. We ordered two entrees (mutter paneer and gobi Manchurian) and single orders of butter naan, kheer, and mango lassi. I'll review each element separately but collectively, the meal was delicious. The servings were all exceptionally generous and the flavors, while mild, were delicious and balanced. Mutter paneer (served with rice): Creamy, rich, and mildly flavored. I prefer a more red mutter paneer but this was a good creamy version. The sauce is thick and and luscious, with gentle notes of cashew, tomato, and cracked pepper. Don't let the pepper deceive though, the cream lulls out any heat. The peas were perhaps 2 minutes overcooked: not mushy but they didn't have that bright freshness either. The paneer was drier than I would prefer, but was generously heaped throughout the dish which I greatly appreciate. Gobi Manchurian (served with rice): This will never be ideal for delivery. The precious crunch inevitably fades to a slightly greased limp. I was a little surprised to see a mix of cauliflower and broccoli but was unbothered (and honestly they tasted the same). The fried crucifers, peppers, and onions, bathed in thick and tangy tomato-based sauce that hung somewhere between a paste and a glaze. Spicy but balanced and the aromatics remained crisp and refreshing. Naan: Generously sized, this was a superb naan. Fluffly, pillowy, and fresh. It wasn't over-buttered or over-charred, as many naan are. It had the perfect bite and sturdy texture to scoop up all the thickly sauced bits. Mango lassi: My least favorite part of the meal, this lassi tasted more like a thinned yogurt than what I picture for a mango lassi. Sour and thick, the mango was a quiet second string to the yogurt. A good drinkable yogurt, but that's not the item I intended to order here. Kheer: HUGELY portioned in a drinking cup. The pudding was bright, mild, and fresh and the rice were perfectly cooked to a gentle bite. I would have personally liked to see some cardamom or rose-water here but that's just personal preference.

Chicken Tikka Masala, Gobi Manchurian, Catering Package #2 with Vegetable Samosa. So bad.

This location is certainly gargantuan size for dinning hall, buffet counters and queuing for payment and waiting for table. The line moves moderately for payment and waiting for a table. There are some benches available for customers who are mobility impaired unable to stand for long times. Senior citizen and children discounts are available. My party experienced authentic Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. It was an experience with an open-mind without judgment. Dinner prices for one adult range $23.99 to $33.99 depending on the time of day, meal, and day of the week. Tax and a 12% service fee are additional, but beverages and desserts are included. Shady Maple Smorgasbord practice penny rounding when meal payment is cash since the initiated and followed by executive directive from No. 47 of the discontinuation for the U.S. penny (utterly despondent). I did obtain my sales receipt which indicate the penny rounding implemented. The sales receipt is attached to a blue slip which upon meal completion customers are to turn over signaling table clean-up. Shady Maple Smorgasbord offers a 20% discount coupon for their nearby gift shop during meal payment. This 20% discount coupon, my party gladly utilized which is a very good marketing promotion to lure customers. Restroom facilities are large with a restroom lounge. The facilities' sink is very modern as it is an "all-in-one" sink golden faucet mechanism: L (soap), middle (water), R (hand dryer). Ergo, no excess soap is dripped on the sink counter for clean-up and no water will be spilled or splattered on the floor. I have never seen this modern sink faucet. I think it is a modern convenience innovation for progress with technology always improving. Shady Maple Smorgasbord's air conditioning is rather weak during our pre-Independence Day 2026 visit as I felt warm during the Northeast heat wave oppressive humidity. The food quality is good and the selection is gargantuan. I wished there were more meat offerings as Ribeye which contains the most flavorful cut of beef. Hanger steak is my default favorite. I also wished for more seafood offerings as shrimp, salmon, Tilapia or striped bass fishes. The vegetables were a good selection. I like the baby carrots which were boiled cooked soft and fresh. The red onions were extremely strong. I wished for Caesar salad lettuce as my default vegetable, but iceberg lettuce was quietly yet noticeably substituted which did not agreed with my stomach. I despise iceberg lettuce. I did not see any chicken. There were abundant baked potato of red skin and home fries. I highly prefer potato au gratin, but to no avail. I have a predilection for chocolate lava cake and soufflé as desserts, but again, to no avail. I was hoping for ice cream as dessert, but to no avail either. Nota Bene: Shady Maple Smorgasbord is family oriented style, ergo do not expect any alcohol. Lemonade, root beer, cola, soda, ice tea, coffee, hot tea, cold water and hot water are abundantly available as beverages. Disappointedly there is no ginger ale soda available as a beverage option which would greatly reduce my anxiety and motion sickness of being in a car for four continuous hours on the road driving. Shady Maple Smorgasbord also has a gargantuan gift shop adjacent on the grounds. This gift shop is old school traditional where tourists and non-Pennsylvanians (like myself) can purchase key chains, post cards, magnets, and T-shirts. Parking is abundantly available and free. Upon promptly exiting our car the air had a high functioning stench of horse manure to high heaven! The noisome horse manure odor emanating from nearby unseen horse stables made it difficult for my party to enjoy the grounds, amid the dangerous excessive heat wave of Independence Day 2026 holiday weekend. We were among the Amish in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

I had been here several years back with my sister but finally made it in again with my husband…read more Now that we live nearby hopefully we will come more often. You have a choice between AYCE or by the pound. I know last time I came I got AYCE but honestly I don't eat that much anymore, so by the pound is more cost effective for me. There also are two different prices based on whether you want BBQ + sushi with your buffet. (Sushi??? I'll stick to BBQ when going Brazilian.) I tried to sample small amounts of the dishes on the buffet and then got some picanha and another steak cut (maminha). Both BBQ cuts were very good - I liked the maminha more. (Fraldihna is my usual favorite, and it's kind of similar to the maminha.). They had a chicken with capers that was probably my favorite of the buffet dishes. The stroghanoff wasn't bad. Some of the other meat dishes on the buffet were a bit dry. I got a mystery empanada which turned out to be guava & cheese, if it had been warmed it would have been better. I love guava, but there was just a little small rectangle of guava paste in the very center; probably 80% of the empanada had no filling. Similarly, the cheese bread balls were cold and hard. Those need to be right out of the oven to be worth it. It's a shame, they probably were good when they were first made but they weren't by the time I got to them. The potato salad was ok but the balance of mayo to potato & other veg was off (too much mayo). I had some fresh fruit too. All in all, I'd definitely come back (I love the steak!) but I'd focus on the things I know are good rather than trying a lot of things.
