Stopped by for a quick sushi lunch special. This is my favorite spot near me! You get a soup or salad and 3 rolls for $12.99. I got a miso soup which has tofu bits and seaweed. It is packed with miso flavor and isn't bland. They have a variety if sushi rolls you can choose for the lunch special. It was about a 15-20 minute wait. For that reason, I chose to have my graduation dinner there. I reserved a table for 9 people at 8pm. I even called a week in advance to confirm. Then we show up, hungry and exhausted from all day ceremonies, and there is no table for us!! They just shrugged and said it will be at least an hour wait. No apology, nothing. Ordered for pickup and it was ready as i got there which was good. I ordered the hibachi lunch portion and was unaware that on sunday's they only serve dinner so i canceled the order and called back and ordered steak fried rice, i don't eat the veggies so it's better off i just ordered that considering it's basically the same price as lunch hibachi. Well as i opened my food i realized the portion sizes are very large which is the only reason i gave 2 stars. The steak was dry & and had absolutely no flavor, taste like they boiled it???? if that's even possible.... The rice was hard & the egg taste old and you could even smell how bad it must of been. Since our favorite sushi place restaurant closed last year, Mount Sinai is our go-to, local place for delicious, authentic sushi. I love that they start you with a bowl of edamame. When we first started coming here, they played louder pop and rock music in the background. However, the last time we went, they were playing contemporary Japanese music. I love this so much! So relaxing and such a nice touch for the ambiance. The rolls are generously sized, extremely fresh, and I love some of the more amped up sauces they use (never too much or too little) Their daily special items are always a must-try for me. Good news, bad news. After trying many and seeing the reviews locally after 10 years here we gave them a shot for a Christmas party at our home. Friends of many ethnicities and I work for a fortune 28 Japanese company. The Good: very good product. Ordered for that party and now another over $300 of sushi, sashimi etc etc. I think better then Benton or Ten or the rest in MS, PJ, MP, RP etc. So bravo. The Bad: order a $100 sushi tray from MS Sushi and a large order from Jen's Chinese (vg and about 1,000 yards away) for New Years. I had a bunch of their coupons from the previous orders and in the mail actually that day so my wife ordered and put it on the counter in our kitchen!!! The Admiral ordered and I did the sweep pick up. Brought the menu/order but the coupons were on the counter at home! I forgot them. Net net, the young male cashier (in front of another customer who shook her head and thought he was crazy since I was epic nice and tried to explain what poor customer service this was?) would not accept the text picture my wife sent, would not let me use the coupon IN the new bag/order, or give me the 15 bucks off the 100 dollar order as smart customer service. I'd have to drive home and come back 6 miles r/t and with guests arriving in about 20 minutes, with Chinese already in my trunk. He smugly suggested I could just use them on my next visit? (1 at a time since you can't combine them) I was very disappointed. And so my wallet is my real only vote. We are now done with MS Sushi. BTW they do take credit cards for take out. So Sushi give them 4 to 4.5 stars. Business sense and customer service a 1 star. Oh well, back to Benton or others. read more

Wanted the fluke sushi but they were out of it which was aggravating. Sushi was just okay, nothing to write home about. The salmon was a tad off tasting but the eel was pretty good. Everything else was just basic. Got annoyed when leaving and I saw a sign saying complimentary sake but our server didn't even bring it up to us! Gee thanks... My favorite sushi spot on Long Island. I find they are consistent in what they serve, and I've never had sushi that is too fishy, tastes weird, and/or makes me feel sick. The hibachi is also good, though some may miss the typical theatrics of other hibachi places (everything is prepped in the kitchen...no onion volcano or twirling knives show here). "Out of Control Tuna" roll was $12 and covered in so much sauce that the flavor of the fish itself was completely lost. Individual pieces are TINY, so it's a good thing they sell things in orders of 2. One of my rolls was not sliced correctly, so every piece came apart as I tried to eat it. SOLID sushi for the price point. The waiters/waitresses are also very nice and accommodating, and will get you anything you need with a smile. Remember to say thank you! I had the queen roll and the spicy salmon. The queen roll definitely tickled my tastebuds - avocado, salmon sashimi on top of a salmon(?) roll, with the crunchy bits! I sincerely recommend it if you're a fan of texture and taste (check out the pic I posted, too!). Spicy salmon turned out to be -- you guessed it -- spicy, but not overwhelmingly spicy. The fish was fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. Suffice it to say, I was adequately full afterwards... but later that night I wanted to go back again. This is my second time here, and thought it finally time to write a review that is well overdue. Overall, the sushi tastes great, but the structure of the sushi was rather poor. At least 1/3 of my order of sushi had completely fell apart just by gently picking it up with my pair of chopsticks. For you in-depth researchers, I will describe my experience with great detail: I arrived at this full house sushi joint, waiting for a table to open up. One of the employees with a slightly troubling accent approached me to point over where I will be having my meal. I was with my girlfriend, and we were confused to exactly where she was pointing. I expected for someone to physically direct us where to be seated, as most places do. I asked again, and she decided to direct me to a table with an empty dish, without menus or drinks. I became skeptical whether or not my girlfriend and I should eat dinner at this particular sushi place, so I began to navigate myself to the Yelp! app. I quickly read through many of the reviews and had come to a general consensus on giving it chance. One of the waiters noticed me on Yelp! and immediately apologized for the wait, and handed me a menu. The waiter took our orders, and we were hoping for the sushi to come out within 10-20 minutes. Our first round of sushi consisted of Spicy Salmon roll (Brown rice - $0.50 extra btw), Spicy Tuna roll, and shrimp tempura roll. Unfortunately time exceeded well past twenty minutes, so I became somewhat disappointed due to hunger. After exactly 38 minutes, only the Spicy Salmon roll arrived at our table and it was there was no way it would satisfy my sushi craving. We waited an additional 10 minutes for the next two rolls to arrive. We quickly finished all of the rolls and give it an overall rating of about 4/5 stars on taste, and the structure of the sushi somewhat poor (as mentioned above). We ended up ordering a second round of the same sushi, and it took about 20 minutes to arrive. I guess this was due to decreased customer volume. Again, the taste quality is really good, but I would definitely suggest coming when there is less people there. Evidently, they can not handle high customer volume, and maintain quality and accelerated pace in preparing the sushi. read more

I've only been here once so far and am not a Sushi expert. In fact, I can take it or leave it. I'd rather a burger! Having said that, I've been told to come here for quite some time - a group of friends meets regularly here and they rave about it. Last Wednesday I met those friends and filled myself full of raw fish. I got the Tiger Roll, the Sunset and the Golden Shrimp thing (forget the exact name but it had mango in it). VERY good. The Golden Shrimp one was really tasty...wow. Loved it. Each roll was around $10 too, which is definitely reasonable for Sushi. The service was excellent. Felt right at home and everything was perfect. All orders were remembered to the T as well, which is a plus in my book. Godzilla was playing on the TV as well...ok not really.
