Ordering for lunch using their mobile app and was disappointed that it took 55 minutes to prepare. When I got there they were still putting down chairs even tho it was 30 min after they opened. The fish tasted not the freshest. The salmon was hard and chewy. Also the nori was a little on the chewy side. The portion was extremely small and they forgot to include the soup and salad with my meal which I didn't notice til I was back at work - too late. Next time I'll try a different place It's a shame because I remember back in the day they had half price sushi on mondays and it was awesome. Oh well... times change read more

The sushi offerings on Suffolk County west of the Hamptons are shall we say, bleak? Fortunately, Mizu is a bright spot in this region crying out for decent Japanese food. Ordered online for about 4 of us (all dining socially distanced). The order was on time and everyone was happy with the food. We ordered several of the designer rolls, mackeral sushi (which could be a fishy nightmare in the wrong hands) tempura, hibachi and everyone was pleased. 5 stars for the Black Pepper Tuna...delightful!!! A bit stingy with the wasabi and one of the rolls with tempura was a little soggy, but otherwise a very nice lunch! read more

A little hide away tucked in the back of a strip mall. Do not over look this place if your looking for good sushi. They serve lunch boxes if you would like a little Japanese with your lunch.Inwas there at lunch time and started with my usual miso soup and seaweed salad. Miso soup is usually kind of bland but theirs had some flavor. It was almost alittle salty whick I found great. The seaweed salad came.on top of lettuce used as a plate filler under the seaweed. Very refreshing. I followed that up with the sashimi lunch. 9 piece's of a mixed dish...3 tuna,3-salmon and 3- white fish. Very fresh and refreshing. I couldn't leave without trying a few sushi rolls. First was the marble roll. My new favorite. Comes with spicy tuna,salmon and yellow fin.ade crunchy with marble seaweed wrap. Fist time I've ever seen this. Incredible taste and texture. I then needed,wanted more so I ordered the Naruto roll. This had tuna, Salmon and Kani or imitation crap wrapped with cucumber and no rice. Wow,talk about refreshing. You do need to like cucumber with this one. Great taste. Had to eat it with my fingers. Hard to keep it together with out glue...I didn't care,I loved it. When in the area of Bayport long island,pit this place in your gps and come visit. Ok you know the saying" don't judge a book by it's cover?" That is this place! It's like a Japanese take out with 3 tables. However the food was INCREDIBLE!!! We had the fried oysters in garlic sauce yum! We had the shock roll it was fantastic!!! And the Kani salad was the best I ever had! The prices are very reasonable. I would so take out from this place!!! I personally don't like tempura taken out so that's why we stayed. The shrimp tempura was fabulous! I might take the chance! Will so go back!! I'm so sad to have to update this review. I thought this would be my new go to sushi place (see TOA ASIAN FUSION; that's my new go to) however after having one good experience here, I ordered a second time for pick up. I made some edits in the notes as they didn't have a salmon avocado roll listed for the lunch special so I picked a salmon cucumber roll and wrote no cucumber sub avocado. I picked up my rolls to find that I was charged $3 and avocado was added to all rolls. Spicy tuna & avocado? I wasn't thrilled :( in any case I was craving sushi so I figured I could make it work. Once I got home and started eating I pulled 3 pieces of plastic out of 3 different rolls. I was so disgusted I couldn't even finish. The rolls didn't taste fresh either and had a very fishy flavor. Online Ordering, Excellent Take Out, Friendly Service, Small Eat In Area I have been ordering take out from Mizu for a few years now. I feel that the take out here is the best regarding pricing & quality. I have never come to Eat In because it is very tiny inside but maybe one Day I'll try it. I suggest coming for lunch if your looking for the best deal! The Lunch Box specials include the meat of your choice plus rice, Shumai, & California Rolls with your choice of Miso Soup or Salad with Ginger Dressing. Or they offer Sushi Lunch deals that come with either soup or salad. I use the Online Ordering App which is fast & very convenient. They do have free delivery up to a certain amount of miles but I don't recommend it- takes between 45 minutes - 1 hour to have your order dropped off. If you are picking up I would give the restaurant at least 25 minutes to have your order put together. All of the food is fresh made to order and they use very high quality fish. Literally every single item I've tried on the menu has been absolutely delicious. I personally think this is the best Take Out Sushi Option in the area! read more

I was driving Montauk Highway in hopes of discovering a heretofore unknown (to me) sushi place. I happened upon Mizu and pulled into the parking lot of the outdoor retail mall in which it is situated. The Yelp reviews were decent so I walked in and five employees jumped up to fiddle about. Not a soul in the place but I stayed anyway - despite the fact that the young girl taking my order called the 'nigiri' I ordered 'sushi' and had seemingly never heard the word 'nigiri'. At least, the sushi chef behind her nodded his head in agreement with me. I ordered Himachi, Unagi, Saba and Sake nigiri with the Okinawa lobster tempura roll. By the time I got home I was ready to eat and boy was this food ready to be eaten. The fish was so fresh it was almost alive! The pieces of nigiri were absolutely delicious. And the lobster tempura roll was also quite decadently divine although at $16 a bit overpriced. Finally, they added a small cup of soy sauce which was so much better than the to-go packets I usually get with sushi takeout. I'll definitely go back to Mizu and maybe next time I'll even increase my rating by one! FYI, one reviewer mentions that Mizu is next to a salon. That was two years ago and it looks like the salon has been replaced by a pizza place. read more

I have went here a few times. When I eat in the restaurant the food is better than when I get delivery. I have been disappointed and the last three months have been the worst. Food is not good. This last time I said I'll give them one more chance and hope for the best. It was the worst. Old vegetables, string like stuff in salmon and tuna, I literally ordered an asparagus roll and they used the white bottom part. Tuna roll was discolored. Delivery person came with no mask and forgot items so came twice. And the worst was little hairs in food from an animal. I will never order from here again. If you use to eat here and haven't in a while, don't bother! You will be disappointed read more

Mizu is such a great little sushi spot! My favorite roll that I always have to get is the hands down the Bahama Mama Roll - Coconut Shrimp, avocado, topped with mango! Simple but delicious. Decent, nothing special Japanese restaurant in Bayport mostly caters to take out since the seriously drab bare bones dining room only has six tables and four seats by the small sushi bar. Started with a house salad with bland, watery ginger dressing. Sushi was okay. They season the rice which is good. Best was the eel sushi which was tasty. Tuna, fluke, salmon and yellow tail were just ordinary. Service was painfully slow but friendly and polite and prices are average. Not the most memorable sushi dinner but adequate if you're in the area. read more

Mom and I were out and about and decided to stop at the first sushi place we saw. Done. Their lunch special was reasonably-priced, and their selection of special rolls was downright impressive. The salmon teriyaki in my bento box was pretty good, but the california roll in it tasted like it was made with smoked nori, or something. Not a pleasant flavor (or one I've ever experienced before), and if all their nori is like that, I'm glad I didn't order a roll, or I would have been very disappointed. But, on Long Island, it's hard to be mad at any lunch that's under $10 for a full meal. This place gets the job done. read more

I go here for lunch on occasion. They have a good lunch special if you're in the mood for sushi (3 rolls for $12). Their rolls are good if you're not looking for anything fancy. I don't recommend their specialty rolls. I had a special with lobster and crab for about $18 expecting a huge and delicious lunch. Instead it was rather small and fairly bland compared to other places. I'm never doing that again. Mizu is good for the average salmon or tuna roll for lunch, but if you're looking for good specialty rolls, go to Sumou instead. read more

Two things I never do: Write reviews and leave restaurants. My recent visit to this sushi bar caused me to do both. From the minute we walked in we were ignored, had a menu thrown at us, and were continually insulted by the rude actions of the waitress in the restaurant. After having my place setting taken away from me and given to another table, pushed aside so the waitress could reach over me to reach the top of the sushi bar so she could retrieve meals for other tables, I had enough. The food here may be good but I'll never know. I got up and walked out- the only thing I don't understand is why the other tables who were also complaining about the same rude service didn't leave with me. Dined in for the lunch special on a Tuesday, will most likely not return. The sashimi & appetizers were great, however service was extremely rushed, and my lunch was half cold. Food came out back to back and very quickly; we were still finishing soup & appetizers when our lunch orders came out. Can anyone tell me why my chicken in my Yaki Udon was cold? Why did it come out in such a rush if it wasn't even fully heated up! It was cooked, not raw, so I imagine it was in the fridge, tossed into the noodle dish and barely warmed. The noodle dish was hot and freshly prepared (I assume). I tried explaining to my server and he barely listened, sure he took the whole meal off my bill which is nice, but really had nothing to say besides "I'm sorry about that." Maybe he wasn't trained, maybe he was busy, whatever the case, I find this unacceptable. There is plenty of good food around, with good service as well. I didn't go out to get a free lunch, I want good food served with care. Oh, and there was no music on when we walked in, then they quickly put it on when we sat down and it was oddly loud pop music. Like Saturday night loud. For a Tuesday afternoon lunch, with my grandma. Pretty disappointed. read more
