I've never tried this type of place before. You pull in front of the service area. It's $5 for 5 minutes- cash, credit and charge are accepted. I swiped a credit card and was surprised when the brush started spraying hard. You can turn a knob for high pressure or low pressure water spray, with soap options. The wax option didn't seem to work. There's a separate vacuum area for extra. The instructions were non existent. I pushed the green button to stop at 6 minutes. I guess it's $6? Clear detailed instructions with what each part of the cleaning and drying does would have been great. I have a tiny sub compact and it took a while to clean. And I'm not thrilled with the end result tbh. My car doesn't look carwash clean. I'll stick to drivethrough carwashes next time. I'd give it two stars but bumped it to three due to possible user error. read more

This place is good for in-between the 'professional' car wash. You determine how much work/time you are willing to put in. I park my car in an uncovered space in the evenings and on the street to get on the train for work. I am at the mercy of birds and trees, so I sometimes have go here to get rid of droppings. I can get a decent wash for $10 for my suv, using a combo of the nozzle and my own washcloth for the dirtier areas of the vehicle, and manually drying everything except the windows and windshield. The advantage is you are not always using the automatic brushes which damage the finish and you save your money to get a hand wash periodically. Plus I really hate sitting in my car for the car wash. Just make sure to wear shoes and clothes you don't care about, because you will get wet. read more

I REALLY like this place. yes you do everything yourself, no big deal. I've seen YouTube videos that recommend hand car washing to maintain paint job. I don't CARE is not a fancy place. it gets the job done . it depends on you how much you love your vehicle. you may bring your own supplies. I buy all my stuff on Amazon/Auto Zone/ Advances auto after seen many videos on YouTube. the machines take credit/debit and cash but many are always asking for change. do come with many singles. is 24/7 so avoid rush hours or you'll be waiting in line or you'll have to RUSH to finish washing/vacuuming. overall is a good place and recommend it read more

After getting the Google tip from my friend, I stumble onto this place to wash my car..myself. Here are the pros of this place: 1. You wash your own car. Simple. Bring your own soap, buckets and micro fiber washing material and other things if you want to detail and have fun. There are other things you can purchase such as an armor all-type solution for your tires, just with a few coins. 2. Shade. The most important thing. Without shade, washing your car is pointless, since you'll practically be causing water spots on your car. Drive your car into the space and wash. 3. Several settings to use on the coin operated (or credit/debit card operated) hose. There's also a dryer! Cons? Just a few: 1. There isn't a actual hose. Just a broom that has a hose attached in it. Not cool. 2. The only way to control the hose pressure is by turning the dial on the wall to the appropriate option. If your not prepared, water will fly all over. 3. Dryer was weak. Just weak. Not worth the time. This obviously isn't a place that seems to be well managed, or at all. That's why this spot gets a 3/5 from me. read more

My car is too low for those other car wash and I don't have a house with hose so this place is perfect. Water pressure is pefect. Soap is a little off but gets the job done. Place needs a little renovation. But it's still good read more

holy sh#t i cant believe this self service car wash dump is still here in mount vernon in the industrial part which i would avoid at night until you are in a tank or with an army. whatever glad its still here with its 3 divided car wash bays and vacuum machines across as well. the machines now take plastic as well as cash which is a plus and the operating knobs to turn on water , soap, rinse, etc, are easier to use. i must say that doing it yourself is better and cheaper unless you are lazy or have a bad back. for under 5 bucks and some semi quick moving. you can really get your ride a good decent cleaning along with getting a little wet if you tend to be careless or clumsy. the weekends especially on nice weather days it tends to get crowded, so come early if possible. glad this self service car wash dive is still around. it brings back alot of memories of late night summer washes on saturday night with the boys. read more

Not a fan. $5 min. deposit and the clock starts ticking.. you can't pause to do anything inbetween or you'll have to put in another $5. I put in $7 and was barely able to soap, scurb and rinse my minivan. I ended up with some dirty patches because a) the brush sucks and b) i didn't have enough time. The brush serves as the spray as well (which is awkward) and the connections weren't completely sealed, so water was dripping all over me. In the end, I will now happily spend double to have a) my car actually cleaned) and b) not deal with such a crappy facility. read more

Great car wash, it even has a gun air blower to dry your car. The gentleman at the car wash was friendly and helpful. Didn't receive 5 stars due next door it seems like a construction site and there's a lot of dust in the air, just make sure you dry your car on the opposite side. Great car wash! I have a brand new car and messed up the undercarriage of my previous car at a pull-through tunnel car wash, so I only go to self-service car washes now. Unfortunately, there aren't too many of them and most have limited hours. Car Wash City is open 24/7 which works with my schedule. This place also has powerful hoses, too, and you can get a filthy car immaculately clean for under $10 if you work quickly. Deducting 1 star because the neighborhood is sketchy; on our last visit, a homeless man persistently hassled my husband for money while he washed the car and wasn't satisfied with the $5 he gave him. read more
