WE suggested a cancellation fee and we're quoted IN WRITING $200. I was then charged $575 on my CC. I contacted snowflake to point this out and was greeted with nasty pushback. The company began to make excuses why the written quote wasn't valid. Subsequently snowflake provided a $125 credit and a new bill for $450 even after providing their written quote. Bad business and not honorable people. Will never use them again.

The Streamside complex is made up of several buildings, and we have stayed in 3 of them. Cedar is our favorite. Cedar has real wood fire places and they supply the wood! Nothing like coming back from skiing/snowboarding or apres ski and kicking back with a glass of wine in front of a real fireplace. Also, above the fireplace mantle, I love the 52 inch plasma screen TV's for movie night. The Cedar building is tucked at the base of the mountainside among trees. The good thing is that this provides the best views in West Vail. Also, Cedar has the best access to the clubhouse facilities (indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs, sauna, steam rooms, racquetball, game rooms, kids cave with wii, on-site equipment rental and purchase, etc.). Also make sure to take advantage of the free shuttle service to/from Vail and Lionshead (no need to pay for parking or drink-and-drive). Although the building was built in the 1980's (the reason they still have fireplaces), the interiors have recently undergone complete renovation (New tile, appliances, cabinets, etc.). However, there are no elevators in the actual building, so this is a major downside for people who don't like or can't climb stairs. However, if you are OK with getting extra exercise from the stairs, then Cedar is the best choice and a great value and location for all that Vail has to offer.

It was not peak ski season and although there was room availability we were told it was not financially viable. We were not alerted about porter service for luggage since we checked in after 8 pm and we helped family with handicapped people with their luggage. To make matters worse, after you have worked up a sweat with the stairs you will learn that there is no Airconditioning and poor quality fans to compensate. Inadequate/poor quality toiletteries in bathrooms also unexpected in a luxury resort. Cedar vail at streamside qualifies as a silver crown RCI resort with 17 exchange points for time share holders. This is higher than most other comparable resorts in the area. On the plus side the amenities are nice because they are shared with Marriott Vacations Club. Unit was clean and with standard RCI style fully equipped kitchen. Overall would not recommend staying here with family including kids/senior citizens/handicapped individuals.
