We went on a rainy Saturday night... it was busy but not packed out because it's a pretty big restaurant! We waited about 5 minutes for a staff member to say that she usually doesn't sit people But.... They were busy... Anyway we finally got a waiter after we were sat at a large table for 6 lol! Our waiter was attentive and polite. We started off with sausage and cheese board with sauces and bread. Very good! Always an old faithful when we visit the area. Food is always good and hubby enjoys the variety of beers. We got the wings, margarita and meat lovers pizzas, and a cheeseburger. This place never disappoints. It's more of a locals hang out than it is for the tourist. They always have some sort of entertainment going on, this night was SINGO, music bingo. They do have bands on occasion and have some great pizza. The T-Rex is my favorite, messy and tasty and definitely leaves you wanting more although your stuffed. Service was a little lacking this time but I'm not going to count that against them, because this is the only time that I have felt that the bartenders were ignoring the stand-up tables. For not having a whole lot of customers I definitely expected a little bit better service, not asking if we wanted more drinks and just bringing us the bill after we finish eating definitely hit a wrong note in my mind. read more

Great local brewery in Pigeon Forge. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and it is a nice change of pace from the busy tourist spots on the Parkway. Ehh - we were visiting the area and it was a late night during the weekday. This was the only place open later so we stopped in an hour before the kitchen closed. Not many people in the resturant but we waited a few before someone sat us. We don't mind the wait but I would think if the kitchen is closing in an hour, someone would want to hurry and seat us. We ordered drinks then food shortly after. The food was ok and the drinks were ok. It wasn't bad but not good. We have gotten take out from this restaurant for years. Lately we have noticed the quality has gone down. Last night we ordered 2 Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. They were prepared on cold sub rolls and the cheese, peppers and onions were almost non existent. My husband's side of braised spinach filled about one third of the container. This was one of those meals where we went though pages and pages of choices on Yelp before the group agreed. Some wanted beer, some want cocktails - Some want wings, some want pizza - We all want something not that far away. Yelp to the rescue and we finally settled on Smoky Mountain Brewery. I'm a huge fan of the craft beer scene at home in North Carolina, so perhaps I'm looking at this experience with an unreasonably high standard. But in short, our visit to SMB was just "okay." We were seated quickly, though I found the booths to be fairly small and cramped. Service was slow upfront (but got better over time). Of course I'm going to order a local beer coming here, and I settled on their in-house IPA offering. I was disappointed to see it served in a plastic mug, because I really think a beer needs to be served in glass, and the light feel of thin plastic wasn't right. As the beer itself goes, it was "okay" but forgettable. Our server strongly recommended the daily special which was a BBQ Brisket Pizza, so we ordered that. We also got hot pretzels as an appetizer, and a small order of wings to share. The pretzels were good, came out piping hot with just the right amount of salt, and served with both beer cheese and honey mustard. We ate them happily and quickly. The wings were breaded and tossed in their "Sweet and Spicy Thunder Road Sauce." I'm not personally a fan of breaded wings, because I find they tend to get soggy, and these did. The sauce was decent but I didn't detect any spice at all, and it was just a mildly sweet glaze. The wings were - however - meaty, and they were overall "okay." Finally - the pizza. Overall had a very good flavor, though it was heavy in the onions and BBQ sauce, and light on the brisket. The crust was thin and soft on the bottom and made it a mess to eat. That said, it was a good flavor and our group had no problem finishing it. Not quite what I was hoping for, but it was "okay." Being in a tourist town, the prices are inflated, and this was an expensive meal. Add to that average service, average beer, average food - There is nothing bad here, but just nothing remarkable and memorable either. So this one is easy.... Might one in Pigeon Forge and we chose Smoky Mountain Brewery. It was close to our hotel. It would have gotten a 5 star if the beer had been better. Our server kept telling us about all these great seasonal beers they've had on tap.... Just not this night lol!! Regardless the service and food were great. Try the Brew N Que chicken it's a winner. We had the cheesy garlic bread...nice and gooey! Husband had meatball grinder with fries, oldest son had the 10os steak with fries (it was overcooked) , youngest son had spaghetti with meatballs (they forgot the meatballs!), I had the quesadilla (good enough). The server corrected the error on my son's spaghetti and brought him a side of meatballs with meat sauce. The pricing was reasonable. The service was ok. The food was ok. Another brewery on the books!!! So glad I stopped in here. The inside is so nice and the bar area is very roomy. Plenty of tv's to watch a good game. Their beers were really good. You can tell by the gigantic fancy growler that I took home They also have a full bar for those that aren't into beer. The atmosphere was good, I had the wings and they were okay. My wife ordered the Reuben and told me it had too much fat in it. I opened it up and this is what it looked like. I agree that a little fat is except-able but this is overkill. The cook or whoever assembled this had to know that this was not necessary. I thought Smoky Mountain did a fantastic job with their seasonal brews, particularly their Winter Warmer. Winter Warmer is a double of their Cherokee Red Ale, which also good. This spot is a more restaurant than brewery vibe but still a nice stop. They do serve several local brews that were quite good. I went with the Red Ale and it was a nice pour. The menu is what might be expected with beer: wings, burgers, etc. I went with the Kick-Back Burger, described as Smoked cheddar and jack cheese, bacon, jalapeños and our spicy Kick-Back Sauce. Okay sounds great. Now I am not afraid of spice, I come from the land of Hot chicken for goodness sake. But that "spicy" Kick-Back sauce was almost unbearable. So much so, that I assumed it might have been a chef error. When we asked the server, she said it does have Jalapeños, but that was definitely not it. Those were barely noticeable. I get surprised every time I see the star rating on this brewery on either location. We went at the busiest time and only had a 20 minute wait. Our waitress Tiffany was top notch. She was fast and followed up on everything we needed while being very kind. I had the chicken and steak with a tossed salad. All was perfect. The steak was good but the herbs it was cooked with were the best part. The salad although simple was good enough for my son to steal some. We had the brewery nachos. They disappeared. We had the jalapeños on the side served fresh not pickled which I prefer. Husband had the brewery burger. It looked amazing but he didn't let me have a bite. He enjoyed it and said the meat was really good. My son got the trex pizza. He said it was ok but really preferred more sauce. I'm pretty sure Tiffany would have hooked him up if he had just asked. We had the brewery ipa and the Christmas ale. The ipa had a mild bitterness but solid flavor. Overall the place could be pretty loud but remember you are going to a pub. Good place to catch a game. The server and hostess were both friendly and checked on our dining experience. That is the only positive I can provide from our visit. We got the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer. This tasted like soggy canned spinach and nothing else (very bad). My burger had no flavor and was very soggy. My side, a broccoli and beer cheese, was below average. The broccoli tasted like frozen broccoli with zero flavor. My wife's burger was soggy and flavor free as well. Her mac and cheese side was not edible. We like to visit local craft breweries while on vacation and we tried Smoky Mountain Brewery for a late lunch and to sample the brews. It's located convenient to get to with some local shops within walking distance. The service was great and we enjoyed speaking with our waitress. There was a good selection of food and our burger & calzone were both very good. They have a large selection of beers, all brewed there, to sample. The manager of the Pigeon Forge restaurant is extremely rude. My husband and I travel frequently to the smokies and this is one of our favorite places we always stop and get a keg. Today we walked in with our service animal who is registered and has all the papers needed. He walked up rolling his eyes yelling no. When he was informed it was a service animal he rolled his eyes looked at me and rolled his eyes again. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about things. Our waiter was amazing. Tall guy with a beard and ponytail. He asked about food allergies before anything. Once we told him our Daughter had celiac disease, he thoroughly explained to us the restaurant's options and procedures. He even went above and beyond when we asked about the type of gluten free bread they use because our Daughter loved it, by going in the cooler to let us know the brand. Two of us order the ale steak. The gluten free chicken salad sandwich was "magical" in my Daughter's words. It was great to see her be able to actually enjoy a meal on vacation. Those with celiac will understand the struggle. We visited 2 times on consecutive evenings. The first visit we had the Asian salad. The salad was good, the dressing was served on the side, and I should have not put all in it. It was #1-too salty, perhaps I should have not put it all on. #2 it came out with large pieces of chicken and large chunks of lettuce. I spent 10+ minutes cutting the the salad, chopping the chicken and finally tossing it all together to make it even manageable. I wish a salad to be in bite size pieces and mixed. Do restaurants not realize how hard it it's to "make" a salad in a low sided serving bowl, sitting at a table? The second visit, we ordered a BLT pizza. Again the flavor was good, however the toppings and especially bacon were extremely skimpy. This pizza was the same price as the regular pizzas so we assumed the same amount of protein etc. would be on both. Several pieces of pizza had no bacon on them and the pieces that did. They had no more than 1 small bite, perhaps a 1/4 of a piece. The second night there was live music, which is fine, but they had it so loud, we literally had to holler to even carry on a conversation with people directly across the table. Only place that didn't have a wait... shoulda known. Family ordered two burgers and a 8" pizza. Waited 35 mins for food when they were not at all busy. Burgers were both horribly overcooked and a "basket of fries" was half a basket short if you ask me. More like half a handful would be more fitting. Waitress wasn't the best but no horrible complaints. The only thing good was the pizza, which actually was surprisingly good. Atmosphere was family friendly, roomy and quiet.
