This is a follow up to my review of the landscape services after the owner responded (but notably…read moremakes excuses and offers no true apology): Regarding the owner's response, there was never any offering to go back out to address these issues without charge. I had to argue several times over email with their manager just to get them to offer to send the technician back out, and finally they offered to go out begrudgingly after I said I was not paying for services not yielded. So this is dishonest and frankly, disappointing to come from a local business owner, who has never reached out to me personally and has my email... Re the work not done-- These were obvious, overt landscape issues with overgrowing and infiltrative, blackberry bushes, a front bush that was reaching the roof of my porch, and a whole side of my house that had been ignored, as later admitted to by the manager. But this was only after I had to plead and argue with them to come back out for their 'initial clean up.' The owner states they can not do it all, but again, this was a basic minimum-- nothing grand was done at my house (but heaven forbid they ask for their landscapers to do a good job for $250 on a small cottage property that is otherwise good condition ). I guess that doesn't include invasive vines in your yard, overgrown bushes, overgrown fire hazard weeds and bushes along one whole side of the house... so buyer beware. If you look at their other one poor review (out of just a handful for the on site nursery and for On Tap, the restaurant- different businesses essentially), she pretty much echoes what I am saying. So obviously, this is a pattern for them, and I certainly would not trust to refer them to any of my friends or family members locally. A professional business would reach out to the customer, try to make it right, instead of just further accusing the customer. I think it speaks volumes and reflects poorly on business philosophy and customer service experience when a business owner responds this way instead of asking to reach out to the customer for further resolve, or just to apologize and promise to improve services and poor management.

This is the 2nd time I've ordered from this company. (Both orders totaling to over $600) First order they missed one of my items and it was resent immediately. Customer service was friendly and prompt and very pleasant to work with. Plants are packaged with care and arrived healthy. Their variety is top notch and website description is accurate. I'm not sure what some of these other reviews are complaining about. Maybe read the description when you're ordering so your expectations are realistic. It says 2" pots.. they're coming in 2" pots.. not sure why people are expecting dinosaur sized plants and then complain.. when it's clearly user error from not reading. Also these plants need to grow into the colors that are shown online? Some need the sun to distress them or other factors to cause distress to actually show their vibrant colors. They send you the correct species.. it's up to you to care for them to let them reach their potential? Clearly these people are either new to succulent planting or they haven't done their research. I've ordered hardy succulents down to the soft ones and they've all been in great condition when received. In the pictures, I've attached you'll even see air plants that I've ordered. Great size, great condition. Zero complaints from me. I will be making regular splurges from this company. You've earned yourself a loyal client. read more

Mountain Crest Gardens carry a wide variety of music succulents and cactus. I love their rare and unusual succulents. They send you rooted succulents that are ready to plant. I would recommend you use them for your wedding bouquet, and table toppers. I have over 144 different varieties of succulents and cactus growing on my patio. But, I can still find succulents that I don't already own, as their supply of succulents are huge. I've shopped in many on line stores, and Etsy; but, I guarantee you will never get a succulent that isn't perfect never have any die on me. Their prices are still very low as compared to other succulent on line stores. They just don't give you a plant that isn't healthy. They are packaged with so much tlc, they will not arrive looking perfect. Each plant is covered and does not move around in the shipping. You will be so happy with your choice, I love shopping their on line store, they have a bunch of beautiful rosettes. Don't look any further, take my word for it, they are obviously caring for their plants like they are babies. Nothing more fun than getting a box full of succulents that will blow you away. read more

I am new-ish to succulents, and I admit to being drawn in by the pretty pictures and friendly videos. However, pretty pictures and nice videos don't tempt me to order more than once. Stellar Customer Service paired with a good product will do it, every time, though. I had questions about my orders. Yes, plural. All my (ditzy) questions were answered kindly and promptly. Every plant has survived the two thousand+ mile journey to get to me. They all look great. I'm looking forward to them growing on and putting on little chicky offsets when the weather warms up just a little more. Yes, they're not exactly as pictured, but they're close enough to recognize, I know they'll grow up to be very close to what's pictured, and that, given that I live in an entirely different climate and am not growing the exact plant pictured, just an offset, I can't rightfully expect them to look exactly the same. With time and the changes in weather, they might even look better than the pictures! It had been years since I've had live plants in my home, a busy work schedule would always distract me away from the proper care (watering) live plants require. Now retired and having more leisure time I was ready to bring the joy of live plants back into my home. I decided for starters I should consider plants that were "low maintenance" I decided on succulents and cactus. After some internet research I found Mountain Crest and their Website was easy to navigate and had a great variety of succulents and some cactus. Wondering how well succulents would ship from the West Coast to the East Coast I took a deep breath and ordered 52 succulents. You live and learn, right? Wonderfully surprised on the way my order was packaged and 100% of my order arrived in perfect condition. My order was received on October 4th and the plants today on the 22nd are thriving and seem to be very happy here in their new home. Some have even flowered. I'm hooked and I've already placed a new order that is in transit to me now. I highly recommend Mountain Crest Gardens. read more

Plants were multistemmed and in healthy condition. Instructions were given on immediate care but its up to the gardener to look into each plant variety and find out what your plants need from you long term. The little plant card they give you will not have that type of info. Be prepared: the box is filled to the brim with styrofoam and shredded paper in order to keep plants in place. Open your garden box right next to the trash bin (although the paper can be recycled or composted). I put my plants outside in the ground the same day they arrived and they are still doing well after a week. My plants are under a tree and only receive morning sun , plus the temps were cool this week. Do NOT do this if you are in a heat wave; harden off your plants if they are destined for the outdoors. Lastly, I ordered on sunday, they shipped on tuesday, and plants arrived on thursday (late morning). Great company! read more

I recently purchased two items from Mt Crest and love them both and they came well wrapped and package intact and in good time .I got cutting of hen and chick bare root cluster .Emerald Empress came with gorgeous large rose color hen and numerous chicks .I was delighted as in perfect shape with good root.I also got a very small zebra plant as i wish to see it grow myself not buy one all grown as that too came in perfect condition.Price was good though S & H high but then that is true on everything one buys on the internet today so is costing shippers more apparently to send so do not blame Mt. Crest for that.This is my fourth order through them.I would buy from them again if i needed to but as have small inside table garden not often or to likely but i don't think you can go wrong as this is very good responsible company if one purchases plants there .Their succulents are beautiful. read more

I got my plants and they look pretty beat up. I figure the heat and the transportation, regardless of the stickers stating " fragile" I don't think the are handle with care. Anyway, I took them out and the jelly bean one all the beans fell off from one cutting, ok Thts fine the trip probably was too much. Each container had about 4 to 5 cuts ( very pleased about that) follow the instructions attached which asked to water them so I did and!!! They all died!!! I'm used to dirty to be almost like an orchid so I gave them plenty water but they all rotted out. I have only one or 2 cutting of each and Thts because I hurried to take them out and just lay them down out of the container for the dirt to dry faster. Very sad! I hope they make it otherwise out of 5 I have 2 left. Not to blame the vendor but ! C'mon ! Add better instructions and change shipping company. read more

Awesome service! Plants arrived well packed and in great condition as promised. The cacti that I ordered were packed in a separate boxes with a warning sticker "CAUTION Sharp Spines & Tips." I thought that was cute. All other plants were in pots and securely tucked in with Styrofoam & shredded paper. They even included an instruction pamphlet which I found very informative, especially if you are new to the succulent world. Shipping took a little longer as I am in Hawaii. My only complaint is that "Orders over $59 receive free shipping" doesn't apply to Hawaii. However, with their great prices, paying the shipping cost wasn't really an issue. Most of the plants I received had 2-3 babies so I got more than what I paid for, that was a huge PLUS. I will definitely order from MCG again in the future. They totally fulfilled my succulent / cacti addiction. read more

I love plants. I seriously love them. And I had over 50 gorgeous house plants inside my last home. But we decided that for our senior years we're going to be full time RV-ers and I knew I couldn't have a house full of plants anymore. I decided that I had to have at least one and I've always loved pothos. I've never had N JOY before and decided that would be the one plant who would share our travels. I've always shopped at Mountain Crest. Their plants are superior so I knew I couldn't go wrong ordering my N JOY from them. However, they exceeded even my high expectations. The plant I received was packed carefully, as always. But it's fullness, maturity and beauty took my breath away. She immediately became known as Lydia. I have bought many cuttings from Mountain Crest Gardens and I have never been disappointed. The beautiful plants are always packed and shipped with care, arriving in perfect condition! The website has all of the information you need to be successful and grow beautiful plants. The customer service is also outstanding, recently I placed an order however I forgot to add their perfect soil blend for the succulents. I placed a second order fully prepared to pay the shipping a second time on that order, however the staff caught it, combined the order and refunded me the second shipping cost!! What company does that without being asked by the customer!!! I was so impressed all the way around, beautiful plants and good old fashion customer service!!! If MCG were single I'd be DTF. Yelp is making me add more characters. So MCG cured my cancer. It found my lost dog. It couldn't save my marriage. But it did shellac my bunions when they needed it most. The best thing about MCG is the size of their ass. There is this giant donkey parked out back and omg what an ass I should also mention MCG naturally has no cholesterol and no added sugars. Really a diabetics dream come true if we're being honest. MCG got me into Dogecoin early and now I'm set for life. I appreciate that when I got a bad haircut MCG was the first to point it out to me. That's honesty I can appreciate. The service was great. The selection was great. The value was even decent. I love doing business with Mountain Crest Gardens. Unfortunately my rating this time was for four stars instead of five was because one of the bare root succulents, an Aeonium Arboretum arrived and presented as a pile of mushy leaves, upon opening the box. I'm sure it most likely occurred in shipping. Probably, passing through some states that were colder than others and then arriving in sunny Florida, just shocked the fragile plant. As soon as it was delivered, the entire order was gently unpacked, cleaned up, watered, etc. as I was anticipating their arrival. Don't worry, I will be back again to shop at Mountain Crest Gardens as I know these things can happen. read more

Signed up for the Ultimate Succulent Club and I am very pleased with how it was packaged. The succulents were tightly packed with recyclable material. The succulents looked dry, but that is to be expected. The colors on the succulents are gorgeous. The care cards are cute and very collectible. I'm surprised the succulents didn't burn on its way here to Vegas which is 110+ weather. I suspect that more fragile succulents wouldn't be so lucky being shipped here. So your results may vary depending on your location. MCG forgot to put my "bonus plant" on my first box, but was very quick to respond and I received my bonus plant in about a week so I'm going to forgive them for that. I'm looking forward to ordering more succulents from MCG. read more

I've ordered several times in the past 6 months. Everything was in perfect condition. Exactly what I wanted every time! I just sent an email this morning praising this Made in America family business. Thanking everyone from the packers to the owners for having the insight to offer so many different varieties at rediculously good prices! Even the shipping is really reasonable. It's a hobby for me. I'm retired and so glad I found them. Waiting for another box full of goodness. It just makes me happy! Not found any online shopping of succulents and such with better quality and selection. I can order Monday or even Tuesday and have them by Thursday of the same week. Insane!! Great customer service! read more

Plants arrived very quickly and were all as described as well as intact. The price was perfect and the website was easy to use. The succulents were in excellent perfect condition and i am truly happy with them. As a matter of fact, i just put in another order and they should be here soon. I will definitely keep coming back just as long as you keep selling such awesome plants. I also enjoy the fact that you have tons of videos on how to take care of succulents and since im a first time succulent owner they really have come in handy. Huge selection to choose from. Ordering was simple and fast. Prices seemed to have gone up since I ordered last year but I guess that's inflation. I was a little concerned with delivery - my plants left your location on a Tuesday but I didn't receive them till the following Monday - usually I've gotten my prior orders by that Friday or Saturday. All my plants did seemed to arrive in ok condition. The plants are always packed perfectly. All in all, I'm always been happy with my cacti and succulents I've received from you. I have ordered from other online succulent purveyors. Most of those orders arrives with loose dirt all over & the plants strewn about in the box. In one the box was dirt was sifting out of it with every movement. In contrast, Mountain Crest Gardens packs their plants very, very securely. I have received 2 orders & all arrived in perfect condition. I was nervous about ordering a plant that has extremely fragile leaves, but ultimately decided to risk it. IT TOO came through in perfect condition! I will continue ordering from Mountain Crest because I can be pretty sure my order will arrive with every plant in excellent condition. read more

I can't even begin to tell you how elated I am about receiving my first order. The care that was given in packaging was amazing. I have never seen such beautiful succulents. I ordered 12 different versions of Hens and Chicks and each one was PERFECT and healthy. No dried or damaged leaves. In fact most of them had babies ready to be transplanted to make even more of these amazing plants if wanted. I have no doubt I will be ordering more from your amazing company in the future. Always an awesome experience. Easy to order. Great quality. Always receive more than I expect. Always clean healthy plants. Always packaged to ensure they arrive in great shape. The only hard part is how to hide the boxes from my family. They think I need a 12 step program to get over my obsession with your plants. I noticed others mentioning the size of the plants and comparing them to Home Depot. Just a warning, I've never purchased a plant from the hardware stores that didn't come complete with mealy bugs. For the cost of correcting that, and the plants you lose because of it, there is no comparison. read more

I have bought a few plants from Mountain Crest now. Succulents shipped together standard mail. Carefully and thoughtfully packed each time. Larger House plants ship express plant mail. After purchasing a couple Monstera and a White Princess one did arrive in bad shape but 100% due to logistics. Customer service is prompt and a replacement was shipped with in a few days. Big shout out to Daniela, they were great the whole time even when I was in a panic. Would recommend to your friends. I love local gardens too, prices here to good to pass up on.
