I expected better after reading reviews but I was very disappointed. First I was surprised that they shipped in the extreme cold. I opened as soon as I got them. 4 of them have mold 5 are dying from cold. several looked like they were just tossed into pots with no extra filling, and several were duplicates out of 18 plants. My plants arrived shriveled and dead. The plants were wrapped in a paper that did not hold any water so after being send using GROUND transportation for over 7 days what would they expect. I am very disappointed at the lack of care this order was given and will not buy again from here. I have ordered before and have had excellent service - no more. Plants arrived today and were in good condition, except for the Sedums Fuldaglut and Dragons blood. They (all 4) dont even come near to your usual quality! Small, even for a 2" pot with very little dirt. Also, I think you need to check your label machine as I cannot read or even see the printing on most labels which is smeared and/or missing. The plants all came well packaged and looked healthy. Bear Paw's are especially difficult to transport and the one I got looks great, no broken leaves. I will say if you arent familiar with your succulent varieties, dont trust all of the photos - you'll be disappointed when the plant you receive doesnt match the photo. While the quality of the succulents were great and shipping was seamless, we had a big hiccup a few days before the party! Prior to purchasing, I had made sure to ask if I would have a problem with bugs. Of course, they're plants so I was concerned since I'd be using them as decor around food. I was assured that bugs would not be an issue at all. After receiving the plants (2 weeks before the party), I followed the directions in the boxes and watered the plants. About 1 week before the party, I realized that little bugs were coming out all over the place! Googled and I believe they were fungus gnats. I messaged Mountain Crest about it and they told me to try sprays or changing out the soil! Having only 1 week before the party, I tried Insecticidal soap sprays and ACV sprays and it helped a little but they were still everywhere! Two days before the party and I had to bite the bullet and re-pot and re-soil over 100 succulents! I was not happy at all, especially since I had specifically asked if this would be an issue. Going into it, if they had been up front with the me about the possibility to having to re-pot and re-soil, I would have been more prepared to do it. read more

I received four Perle von Nurnberg's, two Lola's and one Opalina from MCG. All the Perle's started dying beginning on day two - the leaves became soft, turned black/brown and some became a bit transparent. The leaves appeared to have been overwatered although I did not water them. Mind you that the Lola and Opalina were and still are in great condition. I contacted MCG and asked if they could replace the unhealthy ones they sent me. I informed them that I would be happy to return the unhealthy ones in exchange for healthy ones. They accused me of not watering the Perle's and basically said I was stuck with the sick ones. Please keep in mind that I placed all the succulents in the same moist soil as soon as I received them and the Opalina and Lola are doing great so their excuse that I didn't water the Perle's doesn't hold water (sorry about the pun). I do most of my shopping online and this is one of the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. I realize this is first world problems but it's quite obvious they sent subpar plants and I'm quite disappointed that they didn't stand by their guarantee. read more

Wonderful! We ordered succulents for my daughters wedding as favors, and the guests we certainly impressed! They arrive beautifully packaged and ready to go. I would recommend waiting as long as possible to order, we pre-ordered early in the summer to make sure we had them in time and had no where to keep the quantity we needed and lost some due to heat, lack of sun, and a few other reasons I won't go into. Just know they are fresh and perfect and you can certainly order them just a couple weeks out and they will be amazing! Every thing came well packaged. My only complaint, is that the main plant I wanted, the Albuca Spiralis - all the spirals at the top or brown and fell off. I planted it anyway hoping that I can sort of bring it back. It figures the most expensive one would be the one that doesn't make it. overall I'm satisfied with my purchase and I will definitely buy from again if they have anything that I like. You really need to learn how to pack plants for mailing!!! Pulling out all those stupid curly paper things and I pulled the plant out right along with it!!! And some of the leaves also!! If you had been smart enough to anchor the plant in the pot, that couldn't have happened!! Now I have a plant out of the pot with 5 loose leaves! I'll be amazed if the plant and the leaves, which I did put into the loose soil, make it. You really should refund my money for the really shoddy packaging job and for the fact that the plant is almost certain not to survive! I will NEVER purchase anything from your company again! And if I see any ads for your company I will certainly advise others not to buy from you either! read more

I ordered three of their "collections" : Haworthia (5), Indoor (5) and Soft (9). I also ordered a single sedum. All were two inch pots. Of the 20 plants I ordered, 4 of them were etiolated (stretched), 1 elk horn had damage to the leaves, and 1 haworthia had dark brown leaves, which made it unattractive. If you were in a store choosing plants, you would never select one displaying these features. If you read Mountain Crest Garden's online plant information, they say that stretching is normal and will get better. Now, if you know anything about succulents, you know that stretching is irreversible. You have to snip off the tip and replant the it as a cutting. I contacted customer service and mentioned the plants that were stretched but didn't ask for replacement. I did ask for the damanged leaves plant and the haworthia be replaced and was asked to send photos. They then emailed a "thank you for the photos for our records" and did not offer replacement. When I asked for the replacement because these plants were not ones I would purchase if seen in-store since they were so unsightly, they said to return the item at my expense. In this era of online shopping, I was surprised at that response. I understand that the customer should be responsible for return shipping if they change their mind or if they over ordered, but damaged goods are the responsibility of the vendor and should be replaced at their full expense. I asked to have management contact me but no one has. While the majority of plants were in nice condition, I won't ever order from them again and risk the chance that 25% of my plants won't be in good shape without the option of replacement. read more

I ordered this last week, (on a Thursday before the following Monday cut off line) now it has been a week and since then i have gotten no emails from the company regarding shipping. I had to go through my USPS informed delivery to get ANY least bit of information..now looks like I will be having to wait another week!!! Mind you im just right next door to California, right in Arizona. The shipping cost 8$, which is as much as you pay for express shipping and being as close as I am to California, this is no excuse. If you are going to give this kind of shipping, do not charge as much as you do for shipping. On top of that, I am now worried how the plants will arrive. This was generally a trial run before I bought in bulk. This site looked so promising on fast, quality shipping that I was going to buy hundreds of plants from them to cover the rental properties I own... now? NOPE. This is uncalled for and poor lack of communication on their end just makes it that much worse. In whatever condition the plants arrive, (if I will ever get them) this will be the first and last purchase I will ever do from here. read more

There was 5-day delay in this shipment of my *live plants* after they were mailed. I emailed customer service and got a brief response stating only that I should follow up with the post office. I was already doing this, and Mountain Crest Gardens' response was inadequate and unhelpful. I replied to its email asking that the email thread be forwarded to a supervisor. I heard nothing again from this company. However, the post office did respond and told me the bar code on my address label was incorrect. When I finally got the shipment, the plants were barely alive, not to mention the fact they were disappointingly small. The ID tags had jostled off the plants, so I didn't know their species. They all looked similar to one another, and very different from the beautiful photos online. This experience was my first and last with Mountain Crest Gardens. read more
