If you love gourmet donuts than this is your lace. Cake donuts with pretzels on top or bacon or random ingredients. If you want just a regular glazed than you won't find it here. The guy behind the counter was friendly but new, and they weren't busy so service was prompt, but whatever happened to just a plain old donut? Tasty Donuts. The donuts are made fresh same day. When you order, they glaze and top them while you watch (fun for everyone- especially kids!) through a big glass window. You can customize each donut, or choose from their menu of combinations. They even have special donuts for fans of a certain spider action hero, a blue guy on Sesame Street with a Cookie fetish, golfers and slot machine enthusiasts. They have Pepsi products, milk, juices, coffee and hot chocolate. (Try the iced hot chocolate- you won't regret it!) They have a seating area with large round tables that seat a large group, and they've decorated so you get a euro-cafe vibe. There's tables outside with big umbrellas on the west side of the building too. If you aren't up for in person visiting, they also have a drive through window and do call in and online orders that are delivered to your car. First, let me address the doughnut "haters" out there. Folks are knocking the concept of the made-to-order doughnut, but then say the food was great. Or, the place was too small. Or, there were TOO many choices. Takeaway: there are always people that will never be pleased... Bottom line, read the reviews and apply a little critical thinking. With that out of the way, this place is the bomb! Local shop doing it right. Yup, only cake doughnuts (uh, those are the best...). Yup, lots of choices (uh, get creative). Yep, small place (uh, get cozy). But dang, what a doughnut. I see why they are highly rated. And no knock on the businesses that are closed on Sundays, but these guys are open EVERY day! This place was great! I was surprised that all they had was cake donuts, but I thought it made it unique and quaint. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. I thought the donut had the perfect amount of frosting. I had the strawberry with a strawberry glaze and was worried it would be overly sweet like most of the "creative" donut shops I've visited, but was pleased to find a perfect frosting amount. With three employees not one of them could prepare my order until the drive-thru placed their order and their order was created. The donuts themselves are pretty good. BUT..... Don't believe that you are going to go in there and quickly walk out with a dozen donuts. This place is not Madbrooks or Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. When you walk in you need to fill out an order form for the donuts you want and then wait for them to make them. So, to be clear, this is not a place where you pop in for box of donuts. I almost changed my mind on the PB one we got with the Reese's because the peanut butter chips were super good. The lady offered to remake us a different one if that's what I wanted but I'm so glad we didn't because the PB one was my favorite out of all of them.
