We discussed the replacement of the crystal on the watch face and she recommended that I see how the other repairs went first, to ensure that the watch could be made to function properly first. It's simple stuff, but I really felt that I was being given respectful advice. I also watched the same woman interact with an elderly lady who came in looking for a particular address, which turned out to be in the building, but required her to go on a bit of an adventure to find it. The woman working here went out of her way to help this elderly woman find her way - it was very sweet.

I specifically requested rhodium replating after polishing because I was concerned the finish would change, but that concern was dismissed. Shortly afterward, the finish changed exactly as I had feared, and when I returned, I felt my concerns were met with defensiveness instead of accountability. After the repair, I discovered a prominent surface-reaching crack in my expensive natural emerald that I had not noticed before entrusting the ring to them. The resizing also left the band visibly uneven and asymmetrical, with one side appearing stretched and transitioning differently into the setting than the other. This is not the level of workmanship I expected for a custom piece with a natural emerald and diamonds. When I politely raised these concerns, I was told the finish "usually doesn't change," which did not address the fact that mine had changed almost immediately. I also questioned whether the ring had been properly rhodium plated after polishing because the inside of the band showed tarnishing again within about an hour. Although the ring was eventually returned, I spent approximately $180 on the service and hours driving back and forth over four separate visits, only to end up with concerns about the workmanship and the condition of my ring. Realizing Emerald now had a crack value is absolutely diminished. I expected professional craftsmanship, clear communication, and accountability when entrusting an expensive custom piece to a jeweller. Instead, I left disappointed with the overall experience and would not trust this store with another valuable or sentimental piece.
