What a beautiful location for a resort. We enjoyed the lake and forest. We could see more stars, and the mornings were so peaceful and quiet. For our conference, we were very happy with the variety of overnight options. I didn't hear any complaints. I enjoyed the condo I stayed in. The food was delicious, at the restaurant and with catering. The catering staff was easy to work with and always willing to help. The entire resort staff took such good care of us. They were great to work with from months ahead. We will definitely consider booking an event there again. read more

We stayed here last week during midweek for only one night after driving to Arkansas to see the colours of autumn along the Talimena Scenic Drive. If we'd known how absolutely cozy and stunning this resort is, we'd have planned to stay longer! We loved the tranquility. It is the kind of getaway that is perfect all year round. All the staff we met were absolutely friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotless, the bed very comfortable, and had everything that made our stay pleasant and memorable. The entire property echoes the sentiments and thoughtfulness that went in to establishing its ambience right down to the complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and popcorn in the room, along with the use of a BBQ grill on the back porch. We had dinner at the Lodge Restaurant and had a steak each. The kitchen accommodated our meatbased (close to) zero-carb diet and gave us just broccoli as a side instead of their vegetable medley. Mountain Harbor Resort & Spa has been wonderful for our family. We came up here with our camper & boat for a relaxing long weekend. It was definitely that! We rented a spot for our boat which was very handy. Our campsite was just fine for what we were using it for! We ate breakfast twice at the restaurant and it was delicious! There were areas of the room not very clean, but ignorable as you stay. The bathrooms are small, so be aware of that if you are a larger person. The restaurant has very good food, but you pay for it. I highly recommend the breakfast buffet, but the dinner options are just ok from what we had. The overall quality of stay was acceptable and we would go back. read more

Me and my family have been going to the restaurant for years. This year we came back after the restaurant reopened and they completely changed the menu they no longer serve true breakfast. It's all brunch through 2 PM almost every weekend. We've come here with a big group and eaten breakfast and we will no longer be coming anymore. Usually menu changes can be for the better, and it is always great to add stuff but when you take away, people ordered for years every single time and I've seen several other regulars, ordered the exact same thing or others like it I feel like when it comes to summer and more of the regulars come back they will not be happy, but this is just my opinion I was left severely unsatisfied. read more

I asked where were the hushpuppies & she said she would have to go check & see if they came with. Ummm they were listed on the menu. They later appeared. We dined here for our thanksgiving meal. The entire property has a very nostalgic feel and is well kept. They had a large buffet with a spread of traditional Thanksgiving foods for everyone. The smoked turkey was sooo tender and had a great flavor however I felt it should have been warmer. Mine was a tad bit cold. The service was wonderful with so many attentive employees. We drove out to try the restaurant. The brunch menu had been posted on Facebook and we were searching for a new restaurant to try. The Sunday brunch was delicious! The food was prepared excellent, and probably one of the best cups of coffee ever. If I had one thing I would want differently, one of our folks ate hamburger and fries. The burger was thick and juicy, but the fries were just the frozen shoestring variety. The caliber of meal that we were served deserved hand-cut. Delicious meal, excellent environment. This place is an OFFSEASON GEM! Located on the shores of Lake Ouchita, I imagine it's awesome in the summer, but it is such a peaceful oasis in the winter. The cabins are well appointed and cozy, and the hot tub on the deck was sparkly clean. We did a girls' weekend in, and had an amazing time. The staff is so genuinely welcoming and kind, and made us feel right at home. I hate to even talk about the Turtle Cove Spa, because it was so perfect I kind of want to keep it to myself, but that would be unkind to those of you who haven't experienced it. The vibe is unpretentious and relaxing, and the prices were very reasonable. I had a deep tissue massage with Tabatha, a sound therapy massage session with Ralph, a facial with Molly, and a body treatment with Kara. They were all very skilled, and I felt so renewed and relaxed at the end of the day. Being the offseason, the restaurant was closed, but Jessica at the spa hooked us up with an awesome lunch of chicken salad with her homemade honey mustard vinaigrette and ginger tea. The only bad thing about the entire weekend was having to leave! We will definitely be back. read more

Whyyyyyyyyyy: The walls were very thin, and we were woken up by the guy next door talking in a normal voice on his phone. The housekeeper pounded on the door at 9am like she was the god¥%*# police to 'see if we needed anything' - unnecessary. the restaurant... Food, drinks, price, and staff..... Pretty bad. Lots of margarine, cold food that should be hot; using up old oily biscuits to make $7 piles of 'cobbler'... I recently had to cancel our reservation with a months notice due to unexpected surgery. When I called to cancel they asked why and then charged us full cancellation fees of $60 for our two reservations. I wouldn't have been so disappointed and felt like they were heartless if they'd just taken my cancellation without a reason. As it was a trip with several stops, I had to cancel other reservations and was able to do so without penalty fees from any other place and none had any idea about the pending surgery and didn't ask for a reason. We had an absolutely wonderful experience last fall at Mountain Harbor!! My boyfriend & I traveled from New York City to attended a wedding in Little Rock. He has never been to Arkansas, so we decided last minute to spend a few extra days & drive to Mountain Harbor after the wedding. The staff was wonderfully accommodating, especially on such short notice! We stayed in one of the luxury cabins overlooking the lake. The wrap-around deck was our favorite place to spend evenings watching the sunset, but every aspect of the accommodations were truly spectacular. It was just the two of us, but the cabin was very spacious with plenty of room for an entire family and friends. The cabin exterior was rustic & perfectly complimented the natural beauty of the lake & property. The interior of the cabin was extremely nice, with very modern amenities, including a beautiful kitchen & bathrooms. I would describe the design inside the cabins as rustic-luxury, with a real emphasis on luxury!! It was immediately obvious that someone spent considerable time making every detail perfect. The October weather was warm & beautiful, so we rented a boat & spent our first full day on the lake: fishing, swimming & relaxing on beautiful lake Ouachita! We were so relaxed & comfortable that we barley left our amazing cabin in the evenings. We we did take a drive to Hot Springs one evening & enjoyed a wonderful dinner & drinks in that very charming historic town. I couldn't recommend this Mountain Harbor more highly. It is a very special place with a wonderful history, old-world feel, BEAUTIFUL location, and every modem amenity two NYC residents could imagine! read more

Summer must have for us is the Lodge Restaurant. We always enjoy their food and the wait staff are always kind and professional. Most entrees comes with soup and salad bar which is good. I like their chicken wraps and also their catfish. My wife enjoyed their hamburger steak and also their chicken wraps as well. Beautiful location and wonderful condos. It's very quiet here and nestled comfortably in the gorgeous Ouachita mountains. Got a great deal for a guest room with a boat slip for $50 in September. You can't beat that deal. Nestled on a lake in a national forest, the resort was very peaceful and quiet. The room was very nice and clean. The shower was wonderful - high shower head that felt like you were showering in the rain. Nice TV. The guest room had a small patio to enjoy the serenity. The only complaints are that the microwave did not work and the toilet was scrunched between two walls making it considerably smaller than a bathroom stall. Overall, a nice guest room with an unbeatable rate. Definitely beats a franchise hotel. Most impressive is the friendly customer service. The people are very nice and genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. The lake is huge and serene. There were three deer outside the patio during one night of my two night stay. They have spa services and horse stables for horseback riding which cost extra. They also have larger cabins. The hotel is a 30 minute drive west of Hot Springs. It's an easy 20-30 mile drive with little traffic in the morning on a curvy highway through the national forest. Also gas near the hotel was $3.96 while gas in Hot Springs was only $3.44 - 3.63. (This is not a relection on the hotel.) read more

We rented from Sammie Grace at Mt Harbor Resort in Mt Ida, Ar. The condo/cabin advertised on the internet is NOT what you get! Nowhere near! It was a total downgrade! Very Disappointed! When I called her upon our arrival and told her the room was nowhere near what we reserved on the internet she told me "Oh Gosh Girl! That room advertised is our model! You would pay so much more for that!! I have reserved rooms online for years and never have I reserved a room that I saw online and when I get there it's totally different and not a good or even equal difference but a total downgrade! Total deception! On that vacation we got acquainted with the wonderful neighbor who for a year after made phone calls to me at 1 am with sick perverted things to say to me! I realize this has nothing to do with Sammie but this was a total terrible experience! Never would return here! I DO NOT recommend! I uploaded photos here. I think the pics of the condo we got come first and then you can tell the difference in what we reserved at opposed to the one we got. Always a great stay at Mountain Harbor. This was the 4th time I have visited the lake. Great fishing, horse back riding and trails to hike on. The lodge restaurant has a super friendly staff with quick service. The always have specials and the food is always good. My cabin was great! Hot tub on the back porch, full kitchen with all appliances and a wonderful flat screen TV with satellite service. Went out on the lake with friends and it was really nice. Looking forward to hiring a fishing guide next time to get some local expertise. read more

The staff were extremely nice and catering. we had a great time in the large pool located right outside our cabana door. the lake is within easy walking distance with slips available. There are boats and jet skis to rent. there's a subway on the dock and a restaurant located directly above both cabanas. We stayed on Red Bird Lane, in one of the two bedroom apartments. We were supposed to have a pullout couch, but we did not have that so we had to buy an air mattress so that no one had to sleep on the floor. We also did not have Internet. However, the apartment was very clean and well kept, and the air conditioning was very good! We enjoyed swimming in the pool, and we had fun watching a movie as a family on the television in the apartment. The kitchen was also very nice, so were able to make meals in the kitchen (which had a dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, and trash compactor). It was not extremely costly to stay here. read more

First time venture to woods and wasn't quite sure what to expect. After frantically searching for cabins for a last minute getaway I came across this place at a very decent price. Cottage was very well maintained and well inside the woods. It was an AWESOME experience to be so close to nature and the lake right behind with boat rentals was an added bonus. read more

Celebrated thanksgiving dinner with my wife here and can not recommended this place at all. First, extremely expensive for a buffet. Not nearly the food selections one would expect for more than $42 a plate. Soda was a extra cost. They serve jellied cranberry, not fresh and no carving station. Meat was served in foil pans already cut. Then the BIGGEST surprise came with the bill when there was an automatic 18% gratuity added. For what!? I served myself. Needless to say my bill was well north of a 100 bucks. Will not return. read more

I cannot begin to say what a wonderful day February 14, 2014 was. We had a small, private ceremony at Micha's Point on the expansive Mountain Harbor property. The intimate gazebo is right on the lake and the scene couldn't have been more perfect. We made arrangements with Ashley, the events coordinator. The way we were treated you would have thought we were having a large wedding and reception. She helped with every detail, returned calls promptly, answered questions, made suggestions and more. We had rented a secluded cabin about an hour away for our honeymoon but the cabins at Mount Ida are beautiful, We know this because Ashely arranged for us to borrow a cabin near Micha's Point to change into our wedding clothes and the place was gorgeous. Such hospitality and consideration of our 3 hour trip to Mt. Ida. For our wedding dinner we made reservations to attend Mt. Harbor's popular Valentine's Dinner. What a surprise. The little restaurant and surroundings was transformed into a romantic dinner scene. The waitstaff and service were top notch and very attentive. The folks here really want to please and they do. The meal consisted of Shrimp Cocktail, Prime Rib, Crab Legs, Rosemary Potatoes, Rolls, Salad and a multi item dessert. The salad was greens, strawberry vinaigrette with strawberries, candied pecans and goat cheese, delish. The rest of the meal was wonderful. The shrimp were splendid and my husband should know because he's from South Louisiana. We loved the desserts, chocolate mousse (my favorite!), cheesecake, strawberries and ice cream. The whole day was a perfect! This place and these people know how to treat their guests. We'll be back soon! read more
