The customer service is really really bad at the desk and they never answer the phone. There are a lot of better bath houses that actually want your business on bath row... I won't go back

Buck staff is next door but it was closed so instead of bathing in private had to settle for pool

Located on the main thoroughfare of Hot Springs, Arkansas this was open and we really didn't want to go back home without experiencing the feeling of soaking in geothermal mineral water. We really wanted to try a bathhouse to experience the old school vibe just to go back in time but darn the one that was recommended to us by several people was closed on Wednesday, so the golden age of bathing went down the proverbial drain and we had to settle for the one for the masses, four pools ranging in temperature from 95 to 105 that you share with another 75 or so people When they opened there were already 25 people ahead of us, was ok but not what I wanted since I had heard so much about the private and individual nature of the next door bathhouse but like I said they close on Wednesdays for maintenance, I was willing to pay the 115 that included a 20 minute massage and a private bathtub rather than the pool you share with so many If I go back to this National Park I would try the one next door even if it is three times more money

I visited hot springs and was looking for a bath house to enjoy the famous hot springs. I decided to go with Quapaw for several reasons. - for one low price you have access to all of their thermal pools. I think it was about $30 plus taxes for one adult admission to the public pool, no reservations needed. They have a total of 4 pools, one with a low temperature which they recommend you start off to get your body use to it. They have a medium heat and a hot heat pool. The 4th pool is a regular pool temperature that comes from a cold spring. Now you do have to wear proper swimsuit and rinse off before you jump in. - no appointment needed if you are doing the public pool, they stop admission to it 30 minutes before they close. Early in the morning you will see a line of people wrapped around the building waiting to get an appointment for a massage or a couples soak or something. I did not schedule any of those so I cannot speak on those. - The admission price comes with a locker where you can store your stuff in. Towels are included and you can stay there as long as you like. Other bath houses on the row charge slightly more for only a 25-30 minute soak. In the other bath houses if you purchase a private soak in a tub clothing is optional but like I mentioned before its only 30 min max. - once inside the pool area they do have water available for people to stay hydrated. They do not allow outside food or drinks here but they do have a cafe you can order light lunch and drinks. No phones are allowed here and I really appreciate that and noticed that people did follow these rules. - the staff was great and you could tell they really put in the work to keep the place running efficiently so big kudos to them - from what I seen, they do not have a gift shop where you can purchase swimsuits , so bring your own. They do require you to bring in slides or flipflops to wear inside. If you dont have one they have some for rent(?) maybe idk since I brought my own. -towards the end of the day the showers can get busy and the dressing room is a humid so its hard to get dressed comfortably. Some of the lockers were broken and it took me a while to find an available one. When I go back I will for sure visit them again and hopefully get one of the other spa treatments.

Private bath very nice

There are a lot of choices when you come to Hot Springs about bath houses. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and professionalism of this place. I especially loved the private bath and the seasonal package that I purchased with Leah as my aesthetician. It was probably one of the top experiences I've had at a spa and it's a very good value. I would highly recommend Quapaw..

Husband by the bath lol

We loved our experience here. We booked the aromatherapy couples bath and spent some time in the thermal pool before. We liked the different temperatures of the thermal pools. Sitting underneath the waterfall feature was amazing. Definitely recommend. Lilly and the other bath attendant in the thermal area were so kind and helpful. I bought a last minute bathing suit for only $27! And was super pleased w that purchase lol Thermal bath is first come first serve. We went in the afternoon around three and didn't have any issues. I had walked in that morning to book a couples bath because I couldn't get anyone on the phone (my only small complaint) The couples bath was a nice experience. We both agreed that thermal pool + couples bath was a little exhausting? lol we were drained afterward, but in a good way. My husband went back the next day after our hike for another soak. We really enjoyed our experience here. Side note: he is 6'4" and just had to bend his legs a tiny bit to fit. But otherwise was comfortable!

Had a reservation today for the All About Me - which also included a free drink and a charcuterie board. Therapist was Tracey, and she was wonderful. I had a issue with my shoulder that was causing me lots of pain and she worked on it for quite a while during the massage and it felt much better afterwards. The whole experience was amazing. Rachel, the receptionist, was very personable and very knowledgeable, as was Tracey. I highly recommend this bathhouse.

There were 4 of us. We all opted for the co-ed pools. About $30 per person gains you access to the pools for as long as you want to stay. 4 pools with a varietiy of temperatures, from 98 to 104. There are wooden lounge chairs to sit on along the pools if you need a break and 2 cool showers to use if you desire. You start in the locker room where you leave everything except the bathing suit you are wearing, your towel and flip flops. The pools are easily accessible. There is a small cafe where you can get a sandwich, a drink, a fresh fruit smoothie and tables at the far end of the pools to eat. They offer other spa services as well, massages, foot scrubs, facials. It is clean, modern and very inviting. We all highly recommend. Two of our group had a spa package that included a Swedish massage, a foot scrub and a facial. They were very pleased with the service. My son in law saying it was one of his top 10 experiences of all time.

Go for the experience. We did the couples bath. It's only lasts for 20 minutes but that is long enough. It gets pretty warm so getting dressed in the same room is quite uncomfortable cause you just can't dry off. But the "cucumber water" and cool towel after is a nice touch. Everyone was pleasant but scheduling is very difficult because nobody answers the phone. We had to go on person to make an appointment for the next day.

Ask the Community - Quapaw Baths & Spa

Are mask required the entire visit or to enter? I'm vaccinated and so is my spouse.

When I visited, we wore masks in line to check in, once we were in the bath area in our swim suits, we were unmasked.

Is there an adult only pool with clothing optional?

No there is not.

When in the bath area is it private or shared with others?

This bathhouse is shared pools you move around in that are varying degrees of hot. Think hot tubs but bigger. If you want the individual bath experience (that is the old traditional style) you will want Buckstaff bathhouse instead.

How's the food?

Pretty typical sandwiches when I went last year. Nothing to really write home about but it wasn't terrible.

Other massage & spa places simply let their voice mail pick up the calls saying they are unable to answer as they are working on a client. They had a receptionist when we were there the 1st time & she answered the phone. This is too good of a place to expect clients and therapists to have their massages interrupted. By boyfriend got Tiffany again & she was excellent. I had Diane who did a good job, but she was not able to tackle some of my tougher areas that would have benefited from stretching & she lacked the reflexology skills I so highly value. I hate to write this but we yelpers need complete honesty from each other, yes? And hopefully the owner will take my well intended feedback to improve their customer's experience. My other feedback for the owner is to have one of their 3 business categories on their YELP page be "massage" rather than specifically "reflexology". I believe it will make it easier for people looking for a massage in Hot Springs to find them. I will still rebook my massages here next time I'm in Hot Springs. Very good experience overall.

What a cool experience. I'm in Little Rock for work and came to Hot Springs on my day off,…read morespecifically to check out the Buckstaff Bathhouse. I'm so glad I did. The Buckstaff was built in 1912, and once you enter the locker room you step back in time over 100 years. It's one of 2 operating bathhouses on Bathhouse Row, but the only one that maintains the original feel. The treatments and fixtures are the same as they have been for the last century. I was fortunate to have Ricky as my attendant, who has worked at Buckstaff since 1977. He made sure I had a great experience! I also had an excellent massage from Ryan. I can't recommend Buckstaff Bathhouse enough. Step back in time and enjoy the thermal waters of Hot Springs!

The thing I really enjoyed at Buckstaff that was not offered at the other bathhouse was the steam cabinet. However, this was only about 5 minutes of my visit, so I would say if I returned, I might not go back to Buckstaff. However, I absolutely recommend visiting this one so you can decide which is your favorite! Here is the sequence of events I experienced (thermal bath experience with no massage/paraffin): I got there before 8 and there were four couples ahead of me in line. By the time 8 rolled around there were many more people behind us. Definitely recommend getting there early! The check in process was a little chaotic because the people behind the table just said "whoever was here first, come to the counter." We were all sort of in a blob and once one person jumped in front of someone else who had been there before she had, the vibe got a little weird. I kind of wish they had deli numbers or something, but oh well. I am sure it all works out. The people who worked there were all very friendly, and the people in the treatment room were SUPER busy the whole time, but very friendly. I got changed, got my sheet, and went in for my bath. They offered a loofa but no other extras (like scented salts) but I can understand why since it was a tighter space. If there were any smells in there, it could get really challenging for people sensitive to smells. My bath was fine and I enjoyed the loofa. Then I went to the cooling table. The hot towels cooled off pretty quickly, and they were more draped over me than wrapped (which was what I saw for everyone, so it wasn't just me). I don't know if that is why they cooled so quickly, but I was kind of there in cold towels for a bit which was less pleasant. Next, I went to the steam cabinet which was my favorite. I did not know how I would feel because the steam cabinet is so strange looking, but I would 10/10 want to do this or something like it again. It was like the best of both worlds being able to breathe regular air while experiencing the benefit of a steam sauna on my body. Next was the sitz bath. I was looking forward to this unique experience, but I could take it or leave it. Maybe I don't have the concerns that would make this a dream come true feeling, but I kind of just felt awkward and like I was sitting in warm water on a towel. I then went back to get dressed and leave. It was overall a great experience I feel very lucky to have had. Hot Springs offers some "nowhere else" type National Park experiences, and I definitely 100% recommend supporting the thermal baths and their employees! I would take my own clean flip flops for next time. I think they offer spa shoes, but I don't remember seeing anyone who had them.

I have a few bruises popping up this morning and many painful spots where she used her elbows along my ribs and arms. She applied extremely heavy pressure to the median and radial nerves in my arms and also to my temples, which are now bruised and swollen. I can barely touch those areas without pain. I've had Swedish and shiatsu massage before so I'm aware that massage can make you a bit sore the next day, but it should not leave bruising, swelling, and pain. We tipped them well, despite the painful experience, because the language barrier prevented me from explaining my concerns, and they both expected a large tip, apparently. On the other hand, my husband received a relatively light massage- I guess we should have swapped masseuses.
