My mom and I go to Mountain High a bunch. I love the little coffee shop and am beyond grateful for it as well as the employees. I have never had a negative experience there and neither has my mom. Sauntered in, cozy vibe. Employees don't wear masks, FYI. Coffee, average, not very hot. No, the employees won't be wearing masks, but instead will greet you with a smile you can actually see, And will serve you delicious homemade baked goods, smoothies, and breakfast burritos along with your coffee and tea. I am a survivor of HUMAN TRAFFICKING and word got around to the wife and owner of this coffee shop that I used to be an exotic dancer. After ordering $20 worth of beverages and tipping 20%, I was sitting there minding my own business with my sweet daughter when I overhear hear THE OWNERS WIFE gossiping about me to a young barista about how I "was a stripper" not wanting to allow my quiet nice morning playing with my daughter to be ruined, I simply sat there playing with her hoping | had heard wrong, well I definitely did not because shortly after, a man came in with a magazine and she began to say to him in a tantalizing tone "oh it's not playboy?" that's when I knew for sure, that I had not misheard her, & that this woman was just indeed harassing me and discriminating against me for something she clearly does not understand. Don't you dare sit there and try to tell me this wasn't her trying to shame me, I know way too much about psychology and abusive behavior. Just because it's passive aggressive doesn't make it not real. read more

If you're here for a quick coffee, then this place for you. I was driving for the past 3 hours before getting here and the coffee is pretty amazing. One issue I found was that the breakfast burrito did not hold up to my standards. I saw they take it out of the fridge and microwaved it. While eating it, I did not find it appetizing whatsoever. If you're going to stop here I highly recommend only staying for the coffee. read more

Right in the heart of Cobb Mountain. One of my favorite spots to get away, work undisturbed, and eat a custom vegan sandwich with a superb coconut milk matcha "latte". The staff is so personable and considerate. The environment is pretty much ideal for any kind of mellow/focus hang out spot, either solo or in groups. This used to be my very favorite coffee place. At the beginning of the pandemic all the employees were masked and they were good about reminding customers to mask up outside. Now NO ONE wears a mask, not the owner, not the baristas, not most of the customers. Public health is too important to play with, and I have significant risk factors. I go a few miles further down the road to Higher Grounds next to the Loch Lomond store. They have the same great Taylor Made coffee, the barista is masked, and there's great open air seating. I appreciate businesses that care about keeping me safe. read more

Goat Rock Roast? An odd name for a basic morning brew. Doesn't evoke the flavor of chevon, for any familiar with that glorious taste; nor any rock I've tasted. But I enjoy the coffee, whatever the name. Big coffee costs $2.25; a refill is $1.25. Baked goods : Of the several gluten-free offerings, the two I've sampled to date were taste-free, too. One of the young cashier baristas was impolite on three different occasions. I called the owner, Greg, and asked if he would please educate the young lady about customer service, as in, "I'm not a drink and a bagel, I'm $4,000 annually." I was adamant that I was not asking for her to lose her job; my "red line," is that you never, and I mean never, try to undermine the way that a person supports themself. I prefer Restorative rather than Punitive; I wanted the young lady to understand that she has no idea what a person has just been through when they walk in the door, and the customer does not owe it to her to be down-home friendly, only courteous, which I always was. Courteous, but brief-I have to talk to people for work all the time, if I'm coming for lunch, I don't want to be obligated to be social in the superficial way, like, "How are you," and my time is often short, so I don't want to stand behind another customer who's catching up with all the latest with the staff (long after they've gotten their order) without any regard to the people in line behind them. Anyway, my concern was that if the young lady ever left a small country town and spoke rudely to the customer, as she did me, she would be sent packing. I'd prefer she learn that lesson with a talking to, and not a walking slip. Anyway, Greg and Allison do a fantastic job running the business, and they're great, hard-working, family people. Greg completely understood my concerns about the young lady, and while I wasn't looking for anything, Greg thanked me for the feedback, and then gave me a credit for future drinks/food, which was an example of a person who understands business, IMO. While not necessary, it was very kind, and I enjoyed coming back. I don't think I've ever sent anything back at a restaurant, in fact; I'm very disinclined to complain. Usually, I just won't return if something is off, but I felt Greg would want to know if something was off, and all of my years of previous experience there was excellent. I almost forgot the most important praise: The drinks are among the best coffee drinks anywhere, the smoothies are amazing, and the food is tasty and reasonably priced for the venue. read more
