Dinner with Mark and Traci at Pizza Ed in Guntersville…read more Forgive me folks...had to go with the Chicago deep dish ... White Sox pizza... it was awesome. Got enough leftovers to eat for a week. The bacon chicken ranch lasagna was delicious and generous. The calzones were well stuffed and "very yummy". Service was very attentive, quick and quite personable. Sport bar ambience and come prepared... Bingo Night was noisy.

I read good things but sure wasn't impressed walking into the building. The places to sit and…read moreorder are all in the back of the building. We seated ourselves in a booth with minimal cleaning needed. Had to ask for it to be cleaned. At first I wasn't too sure about our server Emma but she turned out to be wonderful. We order a 16" extra cheese pizza with half mushroom and onion. Pepsi products and hubs had the calzone with sausage, green peppers and onion and a blood orange beer. If you want deep dish Chicago style be prepared to wait from 44 minutes to an hour. We were told because it's cooked upside down it takes longer for everything to cook. The calzone was beautiful when brought to the table and pizza looked good. The cheese had a great cheese pull. Granddaughter had a heck of a time biting it off. Beer tasted good. I always take the first sip when it really cold. Pizza was delicious, you could taste the onions without it being overpowering. They were bite size. Not much business at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. One of the servers had her kids there and they were running back and forth chasing each other. That did t bother me but the stomping on the booth seat did. As we left the server had her daughter helping her pick up a large table. The little guy was jumping off the stage. This would be an awesome bar with good music at night. Sorry don't know if they do that already. Brought leftovers home. Didn't care for the pizza cold but that's just me.

I drove out of my way to try this place out and I can't say I was disappointed! I love visiting…read morerestaurants off the beaten path. :) About 10 minutes north of Scottsboro, this little place feels like home when you step inside. Honestly, it sort of looks like home from the outside, too! There's a sweet memorial for a dog who has passed near the front door, honoring their favorite spot, which I thought was precious. Even though I popped in only like 35 minutes til close, I was welcomed warmly and not rushed. Their menu has American classics like hamburgers, chicken tenders, sandwiches, hot dogs, onion rings, fries, etc. It seems like burgers are the main attraction here, though, so I got their take on a mushroom and Swiss burger (my fav) and some French fries. The sweet tea I had to drink was perfectly refreshing and quite sweet, just the way I like it. I do remember thinking the total was a touch high for a single patty, fairly thin burger, but it is what it is. At least it was clearly fresh and high quality, which is much more than you can say for fast food. Like I said, food was cooked fresh but still came out to me in a timely manner. Heck, the fries were still so hot I burned my mouth a teeny bit! I was just trying to eat and get out of their hair before closing, so my bad there haha. Frozen-fried crinkle cuts but they were nice and crispy. My biggest complaint about the whole experience was the salt was sort of just thrown on them in a pile at the top. So a few fries were extremelyyyyy salty and others not at all. The burger was, as expected, the star here! Cooked about medium-well, it was still plenty juicy despite the relative thinness of the patty. The mushrooms and Swiss cheese were so buttery and melty together. They add bacon to their mushroom and Swiss and honestly I could take it or leave it. Some of it wasn't as crispy as I prefer, and I think the mushrooms add the extra savory punch so bacon makes it a little heavy, but I'm honestly nit picking here. It was a very yummy burger. I very much enjoyed myself. This is the kind of spot my folks would love, so I hope to bring them back in the future, and also to come try the delightful-sounding Moon Pie banana pudding!

Using the phrase, "Off of the beaten path", is putting it mildly. However, it's worth the drive…read more You can't it. It's the only place at the crossroads. It's an old gas station and store. My wife and I were out checking out a farmers market and decided to take the advice from a friend. The owners are as friendly as the food is good. We both had a mushroom Swiss cheese burger with a side of sweet potato fries. Unbelievably good! The place is mostly frequented by the locals, but they were very welcoming to two strangers.
