I have played at all of the courses in our area and beyond. I've never been turned away because of cargo shorts. And they also told my friend that he has to tuck in his shirt. I always practice good golf etiquette. This was disappointing. I personally willing to pay $100 for a round of golf should not be turned away because of having pockets on the side of their shorts. Weekday pricing seems to be in the upper 50s, don't ask about weekends as it's not worth it - 100ish, which compared to Pocono Club or a deal on a Golf Now course, is higher, but the conditions here are far nicer. One more thing about the pricing. When checking in today, the guy at the pro shop mentioned that they just aerated the greens yesterday and to "compensate" people for that, they were giving out cards good for a free round that expires at the end of the '27 season. BOGO? Sweet! The conditions overall were great. The threat of rain scared people away big time. While it was drizzling and misting, it was fine. Door to door in a little over three hours with not a care in the world. It's golf the way the Lord intended it to be. As for the aerated greens...some were a little choppy and sandy, but nothing was crazy and on most you couldn't even tell anything had been done. Overall, they were in great shape just like 99% of the course. There is one critique that this course falls short on in comparison to pretty much every other course on planet earth at this point in time. There are no yardage markers/sticks/no GPS in the cart giving you any sense of distance. On some holes it looks like they got out the office label maker and attached at random 241 to a sprinkler head, but that's only on some holes and even on the holes that have it, it's placed so random as to be irrelevant. Fwiw, this is not a course where water comes into the mix. There's a bit of a pond your play over on #10 but unless you duff the hell out of your drive, that's not a factor. The two big factors would be like every other Pocono course are the narrow fairways/trees and damn, does Jack love his sand. It's near everywhere on every hole and in multiple places on most of the holes. Maybe I'm a bit biased with today's BOGO round factor but either way, I've played enough places in this area to know that maybe this course isn't the best of the best, but if not, it's way up there and close. First time playing here. Attended a golfing event thru the PGA Hope (New Jersey section), hosted by…read morethe High Bridge Hills Golf Course. Sign-in process for the tourney was smooth, golf club staff was helpful and friendly. The interior has some nice decor, the Pro Shop was fully stocked and well maintained. Didn't use the driving range nor the practice green, so I can't provide input on those two areas. The course was in great shape with a links style layout. There were some challenging holes...from the tee box to green in 100ft elevation changes, some blind spots from tee box to the fairway. It was a warm day out and the humidity was high, so it was nice the staff was handing out ice cold water bottles throughout the golf course. Definitely recommend a cart for this course, walking can be a challenge with the many hills and the distance between greens and tee-boxes. They hosted a luncheon after the tournament, food was great and everything turned out great. Will try to return before winter arrives. One Suggestion: better signage directing traffic to the next hole/tee-box for some of the holes.

But MAN is it gorgeous out here. There was a castle on a hilltop in the distance! Small mountains or very big hills surrounding sweeping planes of golf course green. The back area had a fire pit and seating while inside there were epic chandeliers, toasty fireplaces, and long tables set up along the sides with a large dance hall area for the middle in a giant hall. The actual wedding took place in a greenhouse like atrium attached and covered outside. Seriously, gorgeous building and location for any special occasion or wedding. The service was impeccable. Waiters came by for the toasting hour before dinner with little appetizers and canapes. There was some kind of delicious mapley fatty bacon in there somewhere that was awesome. So why four stars and not five? Man, those bartenders, even though they are very generous and sweet as can be, cannot pour a good drink. I switched from wine because I wasn't a fan of it to quickly an old fashioned which tasted incredibly off. I think because it was a more classic style. But then later I experimented with trying a Manhattan cocktail after I saw my friend with it and that was even worse. Finally, resolved to sticking to well liquor and a simple mixer and everything was fine after that. The food was meh. The salad course was actually my favorite part. I'm not sure if they make the food on premises though or if there is a catering deal of sorts. But we had an arugula salad with a lemon vinaigrette and shaved pecorino romano and it was AWESOME. So flavorful and simple and refreshing. For my entree the choices were either diver sea scallops or New York Strip Steak. Easy choice. Steak, duh. It was served with garrison seasonal farm vegetables and parmesan risotto in a red wine jus. The sauce was interesting - good I think but weird. The meat was really tough. It was cooked okay but it was just a super poor cut of meat with a lot of fat grizzle and just hard to chew and enjoy. That was the main focal point of the meal though and I was pretty dismayed. Also heard from other people at the wedding that the scallops were just as bad. Very tiny portion and it had a funky off taste to them. Great location, stunning and in every sense beautiful beyond words. Food and drinks - very meh. Solid Four stars.

It did rained most of the day before and this course was playing with carts 90° rule... So the drainage seems to be pretty nice. There were definitely some puddle spots, but in some places that didn't really matter. I personally thought the course was brilliant. It has a very wonky beginning and ending... It ends with and begins with two par fives... Honestly, that might be the biggest problem with the course. Otherwise, I found the condition of the course to be excellent. The greens were fantastic! If I wanted to be very picky, I would say that the design was not mind blowing... But it was perfectly fine. There were some holes that were better than others. Some holes were more narrow and some were wide open. There's a drivable part four. There were no Rangers that the day I was there. I played on Tuesday in August. We had a threesome and we were behind a few foursomes, and we definitely had to wait on a few holes. However we were ahead of schedule... We were finished in four hours and 10 minutes. There is no driving range. It took me forever to research that and I was a little annoyed when I realized there was no driving range... There is a chipping and putting green. None of the holes were "unfair" from my perspective... Some of them were a little tricky, but nothing ridiculous. Most of the greens are huge. Because it had rained the day before they were very receptive. I used the GPS on my phone, but I noticed near the end that the 150 marker in the fairway might technically be to the front of the green and not to the center of the green... Just FYI there. I did not use the grill/restaurant. I was a little disappointed. They did not sell cigars in the pro shop... The staff wasn't overly friendly, but they were in no way mean or offputting. It was hilarious how old school some of the things were... Like having to "sign for your cart key"... Haven't done that in a long time! I legitimately cannot understand why this is not a more popular course in the area. GolfNow had tons of open teetimes for today. This is a wonderful course with elevation and it's very well maintained... People should definitely play it if they haven't. Oh final thing... One of the other reasons I chose this course off of GolfNow was because I was finding that many of the local courses were listing their prices but they were for walking and not with cart. Meaning it was gonna cost another 20 or even $30 if I wanted to use a cart. This course the price that was listed included the cart which made it worth driving a little bit further in my opinion. Honestly, as far as public courses go... This is a great one. Play it.

Played Beaver Brook for the second time recently and we again had a good time. The layout has a few…read moreholes with blind doglegs and it's hilly, but it's very affordable and the starter and pro-shop guys were nice for a very cold Friday morning. There were a couple of holes where there was a bit of damage on the fairways, and the flags were in the back in every hole, but otherwise the course was in decent shape for November. Not sure of the prices were low because of the time of year, but I'd come back and play here again.

The clubhouse sits atop a big hill, and the course meanders around it on all sides. There are many elevation changes, which I like, as you go uphill and them back down hill. A couple of ponds are scattered around the course. Mainly on the front nine holes. The back is much prettier than the front though. The holes range from challenging, to easy. The course was in good shape for the most part. The tees were a bit weedy, but the fairways and greens were fine. So why did I only give it 3 stars you might ask... well, a few reasons..... They don't do the little things to set themselves above other courses. One thing that I noticed. Was that they don"t accentuate their namesake. This place is littered with stone walls, and other natural hardscapes, yet the do nothing to show them off. There is no weed eating around them, planting around them, or anything to just bring your attention to them. I think that's a missed opportunity on their place. On one hole, they mow their name into a grass hillside (see picture). It"s "STONE Hedge" for christ sake. Use some and spell it out on that hill, make it stand out. Maybe some colorful flower plantings around the clubhouse will add a little splash of color to the green area. However, the thing that pissed me off, was that all the water stations I went to were empty. How do you not refill those daily in July?? That's just plain apathetic. If they just wanted to do a little bit more of the little things, they could easily get a 4 or 5 star rating.

My…read moregolfing buddy made the reservation, not sure if it was thru the GC or a third party app...either way it seemed it was overpriced for two people sharing a cart. The course was in good condition with the exception of the Greens. There were too many divots on the greens, as if every golfer for the week didn't repair their divots. Between holes 1-5, I was repairing two per hole, then I just gave up...total lack of disrespect for your fellow golfer!! I like the layout, plenty of dog legs and a couple of holes with water in play. In the future, looking forward to playing the Gold-to-Red tees. Heard it is more challenging with major elevation changes. Just hope the golfers have more golf etiquette and repair their divots.

Could be one of the best public golf facilities in NJ but it's now one of the worst. The folks what run this place should take lessons from the folks at Heron Glen, Neshanic or the Monmouth County courses. So much better that Flanders.
