Comfortable but simple rooms with breakfast provided in advance in the refrigerator. We stayed in the Garden Suite in the annex building (Chalet) that is separate from the main lodge. My wife, 13 and 11 year old sons, and I stayed here for 2 nights in August 2019. We chose this place because of its convenient location near the park entrance. I would recommend it if you plan to take day hikes in MRNP. Behind the lodge is an outdoor hot tub if you are sore from hiking. The owners (Ralph or Chris) will greet you when you arrive and transfer the keys in person. Breakfast is prepared in advance and placed in your refrigerator units so you can eat in the morning and head off to your first hike. If you prefer a social B&B experience where you mingle with lots of guests, it's better to look elsewhere. It was a nice place for our family to stay for 2 nights. read more

The owners are very friendly people, and really make you feel at home. They send you personalized messages and like to sit down and have a chat with you when you arrive. There are plenty of Mount Rainier guides and brochures lying around to help you plan your trip. The rooms are quite nice and the beds are comfortable. We were in the Trillium Suite, and it had a fairly spacious walk-in closet which was great. In the morning breakfast items are provided and neatly parceled out for each guest. If there's one suggestion, it's to make the instructions (in your welcome message) a bit more clear which building is the Inn and which one is the Chalet; we got lost for a few minutes at the start. read more

Not quite the Bed & Breakfast experience that I thought this might end up being, but a good place to stay if exploring Mt Rainier National Park. The place felt well-loved and was serviceable and adequate, but was neither spotless clean nor outright filthy either. The fact that they prep breakfast ahead of time and let you eat it on your own time is great, but I wish it wasn't as simple as it ended up being. I'd probably stay here again if I were to ever visit MRNP again given the lack of lodging options so close to MRNP. read more

We stayed 5 nights and were delighted with the ambience, spaciousness, food and amenities. We felt right at home and had our own bedroom and bath suite which was off the shared parlor. All spaces were immaculately clean. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the room had a loveseat and small electric tabletop heater in addition to baseboard heating which we could control This is an historic house so there are some "antique details", such as glass door handles which were a bit finicky, but the floors, bathrooms, and kitchen are updated. The breakfast was on our own, (great because we left very early for hiking). All the dishes, utensils, and food was set out or in the refrigerator or freezer so we could help ourselves at a convenient time. Guests have full access to the well-stocked kitchen and use of the refrigerator in case you want to do your own cooking. There is a campfire pit and ingredients for S'mores were provided each day! We enjoyed sitting by the small firetable on the generous front porch one evening. The only note is that this is NOT handicapped accessible: the website does not discuss this potential question. There is a gravel driveway and front walk and about 6 steps up to the porch and front door. Would definitely go back next time we are in that area. read more

We stayed at Mountain Meadows Inn headed South from Mt. Rainer, and it was the best spot we have stayed our whole trip! It was so cute and cozy and felt like the safest place possible to stay during Covid. They left us a great assortment of breakfast items in the fridge of our suite, and they provided the cutest s'more making set up in the room. We also enjoyed using the hot tub outside in the evening! The small personal touches and decor around the property made the space so pleasant. We had a great stay and highly recommend this spot to anyone passing through! read more

We stayed here for four (4) nights and enjoyed each evening. This is not a ritzy, glitzy place. This is a simple bed and breakfast. They offer various price options and provide good service. They couldn't be more friendly! The units are older but in good shape. The shower we had in the, "Garden Suite" could use a new shower handle as the old one was clogged. Other than that - everything was terrific. I would recommend this place to family and friends. read more

This Inn is a really good choice for those wanting to spend time at Mt. Rainier. The property is beautiful, the rooms spacious, and I seriously want to find out where they get the bagels they provided for breakfast as they were outstanding! However, if you're looking to actually interact with or even see the staff of the place you're staying at, you should probably choose elsewhere. We never saw the owners or staff - the setup is much more of a self-service variety. That has its benefits when it comes to coming and going when you want but misses the human touch. Also if you ask for the suite with the extra twin bed, there are no sheets provided and get there early and prepare to set up the frame and bedding. Not a big deal but would have been nice for them to inform us beforehand. Would still go back or recommend this to others - would just be more prepared to go it alone. Also make sure you check your email the day before you arrive. I did not and missed the email with the information on how and where to get my key and with the explanation of the self-service nature of the inn. read more

Ralph and Chris are the nicest couple you will ever meet, and their Bed and Breakfast is a true labor of love. My husband and I wanted a nice little place to stay before a day of hiking at Mount Rainier, and we found Mountain Meadows Inn online. Chris was very prompt about replying back to my reservation request, and was quite accommodating about fitting in our last-minute reservation. We stayed in the W. Hemlock suite, which was spacious, clean, and quite comfortable (no lumpy mattresses here!). Each room has its own entrance, which contributes to a feeling of seclusion and privacy. Have you ever thought it would nice to relax in a hot tub in the forest while watching the moon rise with fairy lights twinkling around you? If so, then you will be quite pleased with the hot tub. It was a perfectly relaxing way to end the evening! We also quite enjoyed sitting on the big front porch shooting the breeze with Ralph and Chris. They are delightful to talk with, and their passion for their inn shines through. They enjoy being able to offer a respite to the travelers who come through their inn, and love exchanging stories. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, served family-style in the main house. We enjoyed meeting the other guests and sharing a meal together. There was quite the spread, with hot eggs, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, bacon, toast, juice, and coffee. We were well-fed and energized before leaving for our hike. Ralph and Chris truly embody the spirit of a Bed and Breakfast at Mountain Meadows Inn. We have paid far more at some other B&B's around Washington and received far less value than we did here. I really can't be positive enough. I came here to climb Rainier with RMI and was fortunately lucky enough to stumble upon such a great place to stay. First of all, it's an absolutely beautiful location--green and secluded yet just off the road. There is a hot tub and it's a great place to sit outside and read (I was to busy climbing to really relax, but I wish I could gave). My room was wonderful, great bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Fast and reliable internet. What more could you ask for? The hosts are incredibly gracious and thoughtful--my schedule was a bit odd with all the climbing but they did all they could to go out of their way to accommodating me, packing me lunches, giving me breakfast for the road. They are really just very kind and interesting people--and this makes all the difference. 10/10. Loved my stay! read more

We met the host upon Check in and he was very nice to explain to us about the welcome folder, heater, and breakfast options. The place was nicely updated and had everything we needed. The only thing which caused it to be 4 stars is that the walls are very thin. I did not have a good night's rest as I could hear the guests above chatting and snoring. In the morning, they left early which caused a lot of noise as they came down the steps. However, the inn was in a great location if you're looking for to rest after a long hike/visit to Mt Rainier National Park. read more

The problem we encountered was so basic that it meant other considerations couldn't balance it. We discovered, our first evening there, that the hot water temperature was set far too low to take a satisfactory bath: tepid to begin with, the cast iron tub soon wicked away what heat there was. We found the same thing at the bathroom faucet and the kitchen faucet. (Water temp is barely adequate for a comfortable shower.) We left a message on the inn's phone number the next morning but received no reply. read more

My wife and I stayed at this amazing B&B for a few nights while we explored Mount Rainier. The owners, Ralph and Chris, are a great couple - very friendly and funny. Their property is rather large, with two buildings (main house and a smaller house that has been converted into separate suites), three fire pits (perfect for relaxing and roasting some marshmallows!) and a hot tub. We got a small tour of the house and got to see all the of the rooms - every one of them had its' own charm, and the beds were very comfortable. They make a really good breakfast in the mornings, everything you need to fuel up for a trip into the park, and I doubt anyone could get up from the table and have any room left. All in all, a great B&B and we'll be going back every time we go to Mount Rainier! read more

We stayed in the Western Hemlock Unit. (2nd floor of first building.) This Inn has some safety issues that we informed the owner about. The owner's response was that she and her husband put their "heart and soul" into the facility and that the safety issues were not a problem because they had someone inspect the property and supposedly everything was approved. What was good is that the owner did not have us pay the full amount for the room and that was appreciated. Here are the problems we encountered. An on/off switch above the sink in the bathroom was operated by the reset button not an actual on/off light switch. There were 3 trip hazards encountered by me. Two were from a curled cow hide placed on the floor as a carpet and the other was a bed post leg that was sticking out which my foot caught on. Additionally the TV was sitting on top of a small box which contained the safety ladder in case of fire. The TV was about 15-20 feet away from the main bed and because it was sitting low to the floor, it would be hard to watch it unless a chair was pulled closer to it. We had to move a bunch of wires on the floor on the left side of the twin bed so there wouldn't be another trip hazard. A plug behind the TV area had a sign on it that if it were unplugged, it would stop all the TVs in the building. Common construction practices would indicate that wiring in the Western Hemlock Unit and the building was not wired correctly. (My husband and I own a construction business so I am very familiar with safety issues related to electrical wiring.) There was a problem with communication prior to arriving. I had read on the reviews that if you were to come after hours, there is a lockbox by the door of the unit that contains a key to the unit. This lockbox has a code which the owners text to you prior to arrival. The MAIN PROBLEM is that this area has poor to no cell phone reception. On the Tuesday prior to our arrival on Wednesday, I left a message on their answering machine stating that I needed to get that code prior to 3pm that day as I was going to be out of cell reception and could they please text me the code so when I did arrive late on Wednesday I would be able to get into the unit. When I didn't hear from them by 3pm, I called again and left a 2nd message. No call or text was returned. So then I texted them. Still no communication was returned. When we arrived into Ashford on Wednesday morning, we found the Inn and then found the owners (who apparently live in an RV on the property.) They were able to give us the code. When I asked if they had gotten my messages, the one owner said yes and that they had been remiss in not calling me back. This is something I don't understand. If you depend on income from overnight guests at your Inn, you MUST be willing to communicate with those guests if they have a question or concern. If there is no communication, you get the idea the owners don't care. read more

The garden suite is very comfortable and well supplied. Breakfast items were simple and as described. We mostly had our own food. After a long hike, the sparkling hot tub was so soothing. The tub sign up system worked well so all had private use. The grounds were lovely-even during winter. Ralph and Chris were very responsive and available. We enjoyed meeting them when we arrived after having messaged back and forth. We look forward to staying there again-it's a great base camp for exploring the area! read more

My son and I stayed here the end of June to enjoy Mt. Rainier. We had a wonderful experience. Our room was clean, updated and comfortable. They provided snacks and fresh coffee with a grinder. There is a hot tub on the property that is in a very pretty spot under the trees, my son loved using that after hiking all day. Chris the owner and the staff were incredibly helpful when we needed anything. I would highly recommend the Mountain Meadows Inn to anyone who wants a real Mount Rainier experience. read more

You're not going to find a nicer couple than Mountain Meadows' proprietors Ralph & Chris and you won't find a cozier place to stay. I just spent six weeks here (yep! six weeks) for work and couldn't have been more pleased. The sizable, woodsy property and two buildings. The smaller of the two has three separate suites (including a two-bedroom). The larger has three rooms with private bathrooms, a comfy living room (filled with a vast collection of books), a big kitchen & dining area, and a homey wraparound porch that's within earshot of the creek. Out back is the fire pit and the hot tub. If that's not enough, Ralph and Chris will stock your mini fridge with yogurt & bagels and cream cheese, and make sure you have a good stash of coffee beans. And, if you're as lucky as we were, they'll even put up a Christmas tree in the living room! It's isolate and quiet, but only about a half mile from a couple of decent little restaurants and markets. And, there's this little place called Mt. Rainier, which is only down the road another ten minutes or so. read more

A true gem. This place is the absolute best. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this cozy B&B. The cabin was was nice and spacious, with lots to offer. Each room charming and very clean, providing complete privacy. Each room had en suite bathrooms, fully stocked with the necessary toiletries. Tucked in the woods, offering a peaceful, serene setting. We woke to the smell of bacon. A delicious, homemade breakfast, eggs, hash-browns, french toast, coffee, the works!!! Chris and Ralph are what separate this from other B&Bs. They are an absolutely wonderful couple, and display genuine passion in what they do. Making our stay a uniquely wonderful experience. So very helpful and accommodating, they made sure we had every thing we needed to be comfortable. I recommend staying here if you're looking for a warm, welcoming, home away from home feel. The fire pit area made for a real great evening under the stars. Chris and Ralph were great hosts and they keep up such a really great place.
