I was pleasantly surprised by the selection & the good vibes of the store. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a TPOB shirt for just $20. I saw it & knew immediately that it was coming home with me. I also picked up a Buch Spieler hoodie & I haven't taken it off since I bought it. I've worn it every single day since I visited. High quality, cozy, & downright cool. The employee was friendly & chatty - my favorite. I will definitely be back if I'm in the area (or even just driving by on i89) again. The guys at Buch Spieler are courteous, and so incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to all things music. My son loves spending time in here, and I cannot thank the staff enough for their patience and kindness with his questions, requests, and chatter! They don't just have vinyl! There are posters, cd's, coffee beans!, and awesome merchandise! For my birthday this year, my husband got me a new record player and speakers from Buch, and it is awesome! The sound quality of the speakers is loud, clear, and perfect. The system itself has great features and a nice cover to keep dust and wandering children's hands away from the vinyls! Northshire Bookstore is a bookworm's paradise! There's…read moresomething for everyone - fiction, nonfiction, fantasy, romance, biography, cooking, banned books - you name it, they've got it! They have a section of used books for a lower price along with a cafe. They even sell records. There's a full section of greeting cards, stationary, planners, notebooks etc. Plus a small section with Vermont touristy/souvenirs. What's not to love?! I left buying 4 books for myself and one as a gift.

They also have a cafe. I did not get a chance to visit it since I was happily overwhelmed by all the books. The third floor has the children's section which has colorful decorations, as well as cards, trinkets, journals, and vinyls for sale. Northshire has friendly employees who were very helpful. I am pleased to report they have a large used book section on the second floor. I will definitely be visiting this charming place more often!

First review of this place on yelp, which is strange considering how awesome this place is. Its…read moresmall, but it has a really good selection of vinyl and a limited selection of CDs. The highlights, mostly. Tons of good rock, jazz, folk, R&B, Soul, and Funk records. Don't expect them to have every extremely rare album by every niche artist, but they have something for everyone here. The owner/staff is very friendly and helpful if you need help finding something or if your searching for something specific. I'm very happy that a place like this has taken over the former residence of Saratoga Guitar, owned by the late, great Matt McCabe (RIP). Also to note is that there is a second business in the same location, 6th Generation Violin. I don't know much about violins or services pertaining to it but they had some guitars there for sale and tried them out. Seems like a pretty cool place if you're into that sort of thing.

The good... nice selection of albums that I don't see in my market too often. (Philadelphia). I ended up buying a few for a great price. (Actually didn't see any albums that weren't priced significantly below what I am used to). The bad... you'll need help finding this place. Google and waze don't tell you it's in the basement. They both put you in the middle of the block and it's up to you. Although the shopkeepers in the stores above were real helpful not only telling its downstairs but also walking me to the staircase and explaining where it was exactly. The ugly... there isn't one. Well if there was one, I'm sorry I went record shopping the previous weekend. Saw a lot of the same records I had just bought cheaper here. Owner was a real nice guy and I asked about other stores in the area. He sent me to another store 20 minutes away that while they did have a bigger selection, there stuff wasn't as "quality " or as cheap. Not a bad place but not great either. Getting back to OTR, great little store. Nice selection, fantastic prices and great staff. Can't ask for more. I will go out of my way to stop here again. AAA+++
