We stopped by when driving to Graeagle for a weekend of camping. We chose this as our dinner spot based on some other great Yelp reviews I had read. Our experience lived up to the hype! It looks like a hole-in-the-wall pizza place when you walk in. They have the classic checkered red and white tablecloths and picnic table style seating. It's small on the inside with only a few tables, but we still snagged a spot on a Friday night. We got the fried ravioli as an appetizer which was way better than we expected. Instead of a small amount of cheese inside, each ravioli was full of cheese that was hot and creamy. It was served with marinara and we loved them! We went with a large Beckwourth Steak Pizza which came with beef, peppers, onions, mushrooms, white sauce, and mozzarella. I don't usually order white sauce pizzas but I'm so glad I did this time because this was excellent! The white sauce plus mozzarella combo delicious. I liked how the beef was shaved and in small pieces, making it easy to chew and it blended in well with the rest of the toppings. This is the one of the best pizzas I've had in a while and it definitely stood out compared to your average pizza! We will definitely be back next time we are up in this area. read more

We came to Portola for a quick impromptu golf getaway. We arrived late in the evening and need a quick bite and concluded that pizza was the best option for us. So I went strait to my trusty Yelp app and found Pizza Factory and Mountain Pizza. My first choice was Mountain Pizza, but due to the boyfriend thinking I said "Mountain Mike's Pizza" he picked Pizza Factory. After a very disappointing failed attempt at Pizza Factory (rude service), we headed to Mountain Pizza. It was then the boyfriend realized it wasn't Mountain Mike's Pizza (that's not a knock on them either. We like Mountain Mike's.) Upon our arrival, the service was great from beginning to end. The server was kind and attentive. She was pretty busy, but she handled the situation professionally. For as busy as they were, we had about a 40-minute wait. We ordered a couple of beers to pass the time. Another employee (might be the owner) came out and greeted us and chatted with us for a bit. He was friendly and very welcoming too. I really enjoyed the interaction with the staff there. We ordered for take out. We had naked chicken wings with sweet chili sauce on the side, Hawaiian Pizza with jalapenos and Pork Belly Fries. The food was good. Chicken wings were as expected, pizza was yummy, and the fries were tasty but a bit to saucy for my liking, but If i were to to order it again I'd ask for light bbq sauce and add jalapenos to it. We're planning another visit soon and I would recommend Mountain Pizza to anyone. 5 stars for the customer service and atmosphere. 4 stars for the food. read more

This place is amazing! With very few options in town, Mountain pizza sets the standard high. The boneless wings and breaded cauliflower are super yummy, and the pizza is out of this world. Our favorite is the barbecue chicken, but the tiger (tikka masala) is also delish and go for the Buffalo if you like something spicy! Service is good and the owners are super nice. Good service. Good food. We were in the area and wanted something to pick up. We called in an X-Large pepperoni pizza and 12 boneless wings. We got medium Buffalo and garlic Parmesan. They were super good. We liked the pizza a lot too. When my fiancé went into to get our order, he said they were super friendly. One guy was giving some kids some extra pepperoni and sautéed it for them and put it on their plates for them. He said it seemed like a really cool place to sit and eat at too.
