Coffee was good, besides not getting a spoon to stir my coffee, that's okay. Coffee was great nonetheless. Breakfast was really good too. HashBrowns was cooked to perfection. Eggs were cooked well too and toast was delicious for sourdough, except I would have liked more butter, but that's okay too. This place is located right next door to a Mc Donald's- (Dick move on corporations) I suggest you give this place a try while driving through Quartzsite for breakfast. I was so disappointed today and it pains me to write this review. But unlike other times, this visit will be our last. There was only one server, Josh, running the entire front of the house by himself. Apparently this is customary on Wednesdays. Before he could seat us, he had to clear off a table. Several tables were just in disarray and when people came in, this poor man had to scramble to clean something off. I went to the bathroom and one stall had absolutely no toilet paper or covers. And one dispenser had no soap. The bathroom was just yucky. When I came back, we still didn't have menus or drinks. When our food came, we asked for condiments that took too long that we ended up taking them from another table. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The cook gave me a stale biscuit that just ruined my meal. I couldn't eat it or ask for it to be remade because Josh was too busy to check in on us or refill our drinks. I told him when he came to pick up the plates. He apologized, but he didn't remove it from the check. I paid $10 for a meal I couldn't eat. We got a piece of pie and the taste was kind of weird...like it had been freezer burned and then defrosted. The whole experience was disappointing. read more

Man I was so disappointed today with fish basket. I thought for sure it was gonna be great after our last experience here. Honestly, it looked really good but there was just no flavor, the fish was dry and the breading was hard to chew. Maybe just an off day for the cook because my French fries were also a bit undercooked. My husband ordered a turkey club sandwich and said it was really good. We had good friendly service! We stopped by Mountain Quail Cafe on the 1st Saturday of the New Year for breakfast, and it was a good choice. It was a busy morning, but not crowded at all--we found seating right away. Our waitress was super friendly and very accommodating. Coffee and breakfast came out quickly and everything was delicious--true country cooking that felt like we had eaten at someone's home. The town starts to get busy in the winter with all the snowbirds visiting. We came early for breakfast and were able to find a booth to sit at. I ordered my usual bacon and eggs. Nov, 2025. There are limited dining options along I-10 westbound after you leave the Phoenix metro area, so we were eyeing the town of Quartzsite, AZ on our GPS for our lunch stop. We decided to try the Mountain Quail Cafe based on Yelp reviews. We drove through the town of Quartzsite, and found the restaurant in the middle of some RV parks. While we expected a hometown diner, we were surprised to find that most of the cars in the parking lot had out-of-state plates so many patrons were probably I-10 travelers like us. Food. My husband and I split our entrees. My husband ordered the Arizona Burger ($14.99), which was a 1/3 lb. Angus beef pattie, served on a nicely toasted bun and topped with two strips of Applewood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo, and guacamole on the side. It was served with your choice of side; he chose the seasoned fries. We'd rate the burger 4.5/5 with a slight downrating because the burger was a bit dry and under-seasoned. The fries were served hot and tasty, though the only seasoning seemed to be salt. Nonetheless, 5/5. I ordered the Hot Meatloaf ($14.99), which was meatloaf served open-faced on thick Texas toast with mashed potatoes, and smothered with brown gravy. It was served with broccoli. We were not big fans of this entree (2/5). While the meatloaf was okay (3/5), and the mashed potatoes were excellent (5/5), the brown gravy that smothered the meat, potatoes, and toast was very salty and we weren't crazy about the taste (1/5). It overwhelmed the taste of the meatloaf and potatoes. The broccoli (1/5), which was delivered much later than the rest of the food, was over-boiled or over-steamed and was tasteless. My husband also ordered a coffee ($2.99), which the waiter topped off a few times. Service. Our waiter was attentive in spite of the fact that the restaurant was very busy. Ambiance. The restaurant has a diner feel, with daily specials and restaurant history rotating on some screens in the front. There is a dessert case with options such as red velvet cake, apple pie, and more. They looked appetizing but we didn't have any additional room for dessert after our large lunch. There's also a gift shop in the restaurant. One final point. We were impressed by the restaurant's commitment to helping its community. There was a box near the entrance where patrons could donate Christmas gifts for local children, and 10% of sales from the gift shop are donated. read more

My last one near closing time I asked no grilling of outside bun but the inside would be ok. It was done just the opposite. Specified NO lettuce; it had the largest chunk of lettuce I've ever seen on a burger. This one was served open faced , the other three were not. Siriachi sauce had a funny taste. It's a shame there's only about 5 sit down restaurants in town; these two quail mountains, snowbird cafe, silly Al's and outback pizza. Tough choice as to which is the best. They're all lacking. Stopped for lunch today (Friday) and got the fish fry and chicken fried steak dinner. The fish was delicious, fries perfectly done. Chicken fried steak with country gravy was good. Service was friendly and timely. Ambiance is what you'd expect for a small town diner - clean, not fancy. (I come from a small town so this isn't a knock). All in all a great stop for lunch. It was pretty good and house made. The girl at the cash register was very nice and polite. By the cash register, they have a cold case, full of homemade cakes and pies. I couldn't resist getting a piece of red velvet cake, which was delicious. The ambience of the restaurant is quaint and welcoming. I would definitely be a regular here if I lived in Quartzsite. The only complaint I have is that I ordered a cup of chili and I got a cup of vegetable beef soup. It's planted square in front of the Mountain Quail RV/Mobile home park. Visited 5/28/2024 Breakfast In Quartzsite AZ after Doctors Appointment. Great little home style cafe that's been serving Quartzsite residents And visitors for many years. Loretta ordered the Tasty Country Fried Steak and Eggs and and I ordered the Super Breakfast. Two Bacon, Two Sausage Patties, Three Eggs, choice of Potatoes and a Pancake. Definitely Filling. The Sausage Gravy was Excellent and The Home Made Biscuits were soft, moist and delicious. Great place if your passing through Quartzite. Looking forward to trying more of the lunch or dinner menu.
