I usually stop in Blythe on my way to/from AZ. I normally drive thru for a quick bite, but this time decided to sit down. I'm so glad to have discovered this place. It's quaint & cozy. Service was fast & friendly. Food was delightful. I had a bean tostada, partner had a hard shell beef taco, and we shared a carnitas torta. Everything was delicious. I was leaving, but it's a good thing I didn't take off right away. I was taking pictures of the place so I know where to come back to. The hostess came out to the parking lot to tell me I had left something on the seat. I got back inside and it was my diabetes testing kit! So grateful she saved me a bunch of money! read more

This last time I went I was sick and decided to order albóndigas soup and a grilled shrimp taco. I love the grilled shrimp tacos and they give quite a few shrimp. The albóndigas soup was delicious and just what I needed. The size was great and the potatoes and vegetables were tasty. It came with a side of rice and flour tortillas. We camp here in Blythe and some mornings I don't want to make breakfast. I wanted to sit down and eat so decided on Garcia's and so happy we did. I ordered Huevos Rancheros and B ordered pancakes eggs and bacon. The huevos rancheros were the best I've had in a very long time. I inhaled most of my plate. Tasted like my grandma and Tia used to make. Medium eggs cooked perfectly. The ranchera sauce is blended not chunky and very good. The beans are creamy and flavorful. The potatoes are served with pico which I have not tried and I liked them but I couldn't finish my meal. B enjoyed his breakfast and ate it all. Service was good with friendly staff. Cute little local favorite for Mexican. Unfortunately, it was under staffed. It took a long time to get seated & longer to get our order taken. I had the enchilada special. The portions were big & worth the price. Sadly, however, the ground beef was very greasy & I would not recommend it. The aqua fresca was delicious & refreshing. We stopped in during our road trip. Everything was great. Salsa wasn't spicy but the flavor was great. The food had a perfect balance of flavor. Everything was nice and fresh and coffee tasted great. The service wasn't bad. It is a small business so the service was what you would expect from a smaller restaurant. There weren't many people there so it was nice and quiet. Food- large and in charge. You won't regret eating here. Food is cooked to order and piping hot in a blink of an eye. I got an asada and shrimp taco with rice. I usually eat once a day during the week and was not disappointed. While it's not extraordinarily the best tacos I've ever had, it was decent, especially with there home made salsa. Spicy and tangy to balance out the meaty. I love rice and they gave me more than enough. I walked away with no regrets and a full belly. I will be back. Has to be the best place this town has going, you know is good when the chips and salsa are good, tacos and chile relleno was on point. Love it. Service was good too. Ambience place was full. There really aren't that many restaurants in this town and we were reticent to try Garcia's but they had margaritas, so off we went. The first hint was that the parking lot was packed on a Thursday night. We entered through their barroom and it was standing room only. We made our way to the restaurant seating area and same thing--standing room only. However there were seats at the counter so we sat there. The service was very fast with a good selection of authentic Mexican food and drinks. I had the chili relleno and D had the chili verde burrito. Mine was so good and D described his as if it had been made by someone's abuelo --huge and full of flavor. If you're heading through Blythe, stop at Garcia's. You won't be disappointed! read more

The chips and salsa was phenomenal. Authentic and fresh. It's the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. The service.....some of the worst I've ever had. It took about 20 minutes to get 2 waters and some chips and salsa. We waited another 40 mins for 1 carne asada plate that never even showed up, so we walked out after we saw the table next to us get their food even though they came in 20 minutes after us. This review was overlooked so kinda a late posting!!! This place was our to go to Mexican Cuisine when we visited Blythe last Summer in June and July!! Indoor seating is very limited and lunch time gets crowded ! We are lucky to always find a table for us . Although covered outdoor seatings are available we dared not dine outside due to extreme heat !!! Food are served in big portions so beware!! Lol you will sure get sooooo full! I tried their Beef stew soup which was super flavorful like our Filipino "Nilaga" ... Meat was tender and medley veggies included corn on a cob my fav to nibble !! Soup is always my comfort meal anytime of the day and of all season !! Love ! love ! Love ! love their fresh Pineapple Drink which is not watered down with ice and with every sweetness sip you get those fresh blended pineapple fruit pulp ! it really quenched my thirst on a scorching hot weather of 100 degrees !!!!! read more

This is my go to spot when driving through Blythe, CA. The food is authentic and delicious. They recently moved from a small location about a mile away to a significantly larger location since the other place was usually very crowded and the wait was long. The ambiance is casual and expected for a very small city in the middle of the desert. The restaurant is within 5 miles from the California, Arizona border. Re Visited 7/30/2024 Dinner In Blythe last night. Excellent Mexican Food. It's been awhile since I've been here and I must say I'll be back. The Beef Fajitas were Very good. I tried A Fried Fish Taco that was a big surprise. Very Tasty. Also a Carnitas Taco, a Shredded Beef Taco, and a Bean & Cheese Tostada. All were delicious. Came across Garcia's Restaurant while in town and picked this restaurant based on their positive Yelp reviews!! The restaurant itself is old and small but wasn't busy at the time of my arrival. I was served complimentary chips and salsa which were good but not great. Ordered the Chicken Chimichanga which I haven't had in a very long time and was another reason I stopped here for dinner. After a short wait my entree was served and here is my review. The Chimichanga was huge and quite tasty. The chicken inside was juicy and to my liking. The rice and beans were okay just like the chips and salsa but nothing to write home about. The red sauce with the chimichanga had a nice kick to it and had my nose running during my entire meal. Both the side of sour cream and avocado made a nice addition to the chimichanga and they paired well. 4.5 stars for reasonably priced & tasty food plus friendly service! I'll be back. She asked if things were ok, and so fast , she left so went to the cashier and she refilled my drinks. The small tip is the reason. Great food off the beaten path. Needed some breakfast food on the way home from Arizona & found this little gem. Ordered a couple of breakfast burritos. One was an egg, beans and home-style potatoes, the other chorizo. Hands down the chorizo burrito is the one to get! Burritos are a healthy portion wrapped in a tasty flour tortilla! The dining area is like old school diner, clean and without any fluff. Staff is friendly and not a long waiting period. Found the prices are very affordable.
