We were really hungry and had been out all day. During a stop we came upon this restaurant. The menu is limited but we kept seeing burgers being served and decided to order one. The service was great and they were busy. We didn't have a lot of time so we appreciated how quickly they accommodated us. The burger was delish! Cooked just right and flavorful. The topping were fresh and I opted for no bun and a side salad. The salad was piled high with fresh veggies and the dressing was not too tangy. Great spot for lunch if in the area. Solid place to stop by for a bite to eat. It's not fancy but does the job. The menu is limited but they do a decent job of what they serve. The staff here were fast and friendly. It's as close to east coast America diner vibes, simple menu kinda older interior but the food hits the spot when hungry nothing fancy. Stopped by after lake Louise tour and got the double burger with fries. Simple the fries were crispy and the burger bigger than expected and cooked well. Keep you expectations realistic, it's a small joint in a small town so for what it was I was pleasantly surprised and happy with my meal for the price and size. Mountain Restaurant was a pleasant surprise! I usually try to avoid these tourist traps, but we needed a bite to eat before our shuttle to Morraine Lake and a place to escape the rain while we waited. Plus, when I finally got my Yelp app to open and saw my friend's review, I was worried that our food would be bad. Luckily, only one item was not enjoyable! The bison burgers were surprisingly juicy and tasty. I've had bad experiences with diners and bison burgers, so I'm glad this place was an aberration! My side salad tasted fresh, and my buddy who notoriously does not like poutine actually enjoyed his poutine! My girlfriend got the cheeseburger, and it was not good. It was dry, flavourless, and chewy. The belle of the ball was the thai curry with shrimp! Wow, that bowl was flavourful! All four of us had a few scoops of it and couldn't stop saying, "Mmm!" Delicious food and phenomenal service! Very much a quaint, small town restaurant. I was in a group of 7 and we were seated immediately. It was 20 min til closing but they still sat us (we had just got into town starving). Building is older as is many of the buildings are in Lake Louise, but very clean and open. Servers were very kind and informative. Checked in on us for refills several times. Ordered the bison burger and had zero complaints. Fries were very tasty and crunchy. Extremely satisfied. Others ordered the butter chicken (also pretty good) and bolognese. We enjoyed our meals so much that we went back again a couple days later. I ordered the bison burger again but with sautéed mushrooms. My boyfriend had left his phone there and did not realize until after closing. We went the next morning to Javalanche next door and they were able to retrieve it for us. 10/10 for service. Will definitely return on our next trip here! read more

I understand this restaurant has average reviews so far but our experience was very nice. being a vegetarian, we struggle with food options in some remote areas like this and we always end up eating cheese pizza. But this restaurant had not only enough vegetarian versions of their ori menu, whatever we ate was full of flavor and very tasty. I ordered takeout from the restaurant. The food was ready in about 20 minutes. I got their poutine, mountain burger, and butter chicken curry. I'm not a huge fan of their gravy flavor. Their chicken in the curry dish was super dry and tasted like pre-freezed chicken. It was kind of strange that the pita bread came with the dish as it is too dense for it. Fantastic dinner after a great ski day! They were super busy with an order of 20 pizzas, so we were encouraged to order something not from the pizza oven. This place somewhat has a monopoly based on location, thus our decision to eat here. We arrived in the middle of lunch hour and dinner hour as we tend to eat when hungry and not be the time of day. We waited to be seated and the place was fairly empty. We waited what appeared to be a long while and observed people scurry about looking busy. We were told by three different staff members "We will be right with you." We finally sat down and by the time the wait staff acknowledged us we were ready to order (drinks and food). Two of the three dishes were decent and enjoyable. One was the mountain burger. It was a bit sloppy as it was heavy on the sauce. It required extra napkins and since the wait staff was preoccupied the "self-serve" napkin counter had to do. I would saw the pulled pork sandwich that was also ordered falls into this same rating as the burger. The greatest disappointment was the linguini and meatballs. Pasta is easy so no issue there. The meatballs were not edible and left 2 of the 3 on the plate with the third partially eaten This place would have gotten a 2; however, the wait staff noticed the uneaten meatballs and kindly credited us a portion of the dish with apologies. I respect that since it was preemptive. I believe the service was lagging mainly because of our arrival time; catching them in between meals, thus their break. read more

Our group of 4 stopped in after a day of hiking and sightseeing in Banff. We were greeted right away and seated, and our waitperson was very friendly and knowledgeable on the dishes. One of the worse experiences I've had at a resturant. We were greeted promptly as we walked in and showed us to our seats then 10 minutes later we didnt get served with drinks or even asked what we wanted for drinks. It has been 15 minutes and another couple walked in and sat at a table across from us and were served drinks right away. We even waited another 15 minutes for them to get our check and the place wasn't that busy to begin with. There were about 12 tables going and about 5 waitresses. With an hour worth of time wasted we had just missed the sunset over Lake Moraine. My girlfriend and I were disappointed. The food was ok nothing special the fried cod was greasy and sweet potato fries were bleh. My elk bbq burger was decent but then the fries were bleh. Giving 2 stars for the free WiFi as we desperately needed it to map our way around. If there wasn't WiFi I would have given it 1 star. read more

Ducked into this place after a long day driving to Jasper. First time to Lake Louise and it was pretty hard to find a place to eat that was open, after getting turned away at a restaurant that had 3 tourist buses inside we came across this place. And boy am I glad we missed out on that place! This place was very quite and from the outside it looked like it was closed besides the sign that said 'come in were open' we got the potato skins with bacon and 2 cheeses I think around $12 and it was great! Crunchy cheesy and generous servings. Main we got the two pasta dishes Gorgonzola fettuccine and linguine bolognese $14ish . Both were so tasty!! We were very impressed with the pastas freshness and awesome flavours! Portions were also very generous. Friendly service cool environment good prices this place is a must if your staying at local hotels with restaurant prices on par with their rates and you can't afford to eat there! Gayle and I had just finished a shoreline walk along Lake Louise and were looking for a casual lunch before continuing on to Johnson Canyon. The Mountain Restaurant (est 1984) was our choice as its conveniently located next to a gasoline station, the Trans Canada, and to tourist points within and outward.. We enjoyed our window seat and the selection of Pasta, Pizza, and Poutine. Burgers, salads and other relatively simple selections were available as well.
