Chicken supreme
Margaret L.

Had the worst risotto of my life here, yikes. Ambience was peaceful and somewhat sophisticated given it's a hotel restaurant. Service could be better. We got here just before 5pm, which is when they transition from the lunch to dinner menu. However, they refused to show us the dinner menu until after 5, so we waited around nearby. Chicken supreme was ok - chicken a little dry, and the basil leaves were too bitter. The short rib was the best thing we ordered and quite tender, but a little heavily salted. And the salmon - it was cooked well but lacked any flavor. The "lobster risotto" it came with was disgusting - no lobster in sight, and the risotto tasted like straight milk. Our server was polite but forgot about us at the end after taking our plates away. I'm pretty unhappy with this experience given how much everything cost ($35 USD per person pre-tip). Do not recommend.

Chicken pesto wrap with butternut squash soup

We were looking for a place to eat lunch and were desperate for food before heading to Jasper National Park from Banff. We set our bar very low for this place because we weren't expecting great food in a location with high tourist traffic. But we walked into the hotel and this restaurant was located immediately to the right of the entrance. The interior was so beautiful. A contemporary design with cute bud vases and plants everywhere! The servers were so nice and took care of our drinks right away. We ordered the pesto wrap and Cesar saladbwith chciken. Loved both our dishes and the quality/portion of everything! The chef did an awesome job with the chicken! It was not dry! Would totally recommend making a stop here for lunch.

Spinach salad w/ chicken

Located in Lake Louise inn, we stopped by before heading to Peyto after Johnston Canyon. Not sure why the reviews are so low because we were satisfied with our food. The spinach salad with chicken was a light yet tasty lunch, and my family enjoyed their chicken burger, fish & chips and Caesar salad. Quite expensive for the portion sizes...but if this is your only option for food, recommend.

a plate of food on a table

Legends Restaurant is located at the Lake Louis Inn. We went there for dinner and it wasn't busy at all. There were five people working the front/ dining area. They have tables on their patio but we decided to sit inside. We ordered two waters, a Pilsner, blackened cod, and elk burger. We asked if the Pilsner is local and our waiter said yes. We asked where and she blurted out, S-S-Saskatchewan! It didn't sound very convincing but at least the Pilsner tasted good. The cod was overcooked and dry. Very disappointing since that's the supposed to be the star of the dish. That said, everything else on the plate was good. The elk burger was only okay. The wait staff just stood around chatting with each other or zoned out at the wait station. My water glass was not filled and it was on the edge of the table waiting to be filled. Towards the very end of our meal, our waitress walked by, looked at our table, saw that we were still eating and walked away and never came back with water. Also, check your bill because the prices we were changed were higher than what was stated in the menu!

The food is high quality and delicious. The food took a while to come out despite the restaurant was not full. But that didn't bother us.

Food was mediocre at best. Had a burger and it tasted like leftover meatloaf. Service was slow.

Hands down the best food in Canmore. Honestly, I don't know how this place isn't rated #1. I tried…read moreseveral of the other top-rated spots during my week-long stay, and every time I did, I wished I had just eaten here instead. Everything is executed incredibly well: flavorful food, nice plating, great ambiance, and good service. I had the poutine (the best I've had), the pulled pork burger, the steak, plus the tiramisu, cheesecake, and crème brûlée. Everything was spectacular. My only suggestion? Add dumplings to the menu, because I know you'd do them exceptionally well. Every time I was here, it felt like the place to be. Don't waste your time anywhere else.

This was hands down, my favorite meal of my trip. The staff was welcoming off the bat. We had a large party but was seated relatively quick. We started off our meal with the Chef's Signature Mussels and Pulled Pork Poutine. I liked the gravy in the poutine. The mussels were bathed in a sauce. Do dip your bread in it and go wild! My son normally doesn't like seafood but he couldn't stop eating the mussels. They have weekly specials on their website. Definitely check it out before you make a visit over! We went on Thursday and it was pasta night specials for $20. We tried the Clam Linguine, Carbonara, and Linguini Bolognese. The Clam Linguine was the lightest of the pastas. There was a good amount of clams. The Carbonara was extremely rich and probably the least favorite of the three. I thoroughly enjoyed the Linguini Bolognese. The pasta was cooked al dente and the flavors were so deep and comforting. The Braised Alberta Pork Ribs in a Root Beer Glaze was tasty too. You can really taste the root beer flavor so if that's not your thing, you should skip this dish. My son kept raving about this meal for the rest of our trip! I can't wait to come back to see more of Canada and of course to have another delicious meal here.

The view is totally worth the price you pay for it :) the name does justice to this place…read more The food is expensive - and tasty :) you are splurging for the location and amazing service. We had the lobster roll (not enough chunks and bread was not warm by the time I got it), Alberta steak (super tasty!), burrata and seafood salad were ok. The drinks were very unique- I would come back for drinks and appetizers next time. The view - sigh - one could just sit there and reflect on life and enjoy what nature has to offer us. I will say the views of Lake Louise from the restaurant are quite lovely. We were seated inside and it was cozy and comfortable. Customer service was excellent, our server, Joe was absolutely wonderful. Joe was very friendly and was able to help us out with our questions, deciding on entrees to order and he checked in occasionally during our lunch. The lunch menu has a fair amount of options for starters and entrees. I was curious about the pasta dish, but thought the cost was a bit high. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and caesar salad (which is made at your table) and it was good. I was not a fan of the seasoning of the chicken but the salad was great. My mom had ordered the fish and chips and was impressed with the portions and the texture and flavor. She enjoyed her entree along with a french onion soup. We also split a key lime tart, which was a good balance of sweet and tart. Overall, a great meal and dining experience. I'd recommend visiting Lakeview Lounge if you're interested in enjoying a delicious, memorable meal with scenic views.
