The bbq / meats tasted like they were premade / reheated upon order. The service was below average as well / staff did not really check back in and see how things were and if we needed anything. Be warned the nachos are massive and will serve 3-4 people comfortably. The platter is a nice sampler dish but don't expect to be satiated. Beers are nice and cold and the views are beautiful. We found this place on Yelp looking for vegetarian food. They have amazing view of the Lake Louise from the inside and they have ample seating inside. Their menu has changed recently and they have a good number of options for both vegetarian and non vegetarian food. One thing that surprised me the most was finding Mumbai Indian potato burger on the menu and it was super delicious and full of flavor. The burger comes with French fries on the side. We also tried the Thai noodle salad and it was good too. For drinks, we had mai Thai beer based cocktail and orange juice. The beer cocktail came in a tiki glass. While enjoying the majestic views of lake Louise hiking the shoreline we worked up an appetite. We went into the Fairmont at lake Louise and tried a random spot to eat. We slid into Alpine Social locates on the ground level. The smell of food was enticing. We were kindly sat right away, because we asked for first available, not outside or at the window to have a view of the lake. We were going to go back out anyways, so we sat by the bar. We ordered some of the favorites, social nachos and a sausage and pork sandwich. It was all very well prepared. What we liked the most was the local beers. If you want to taste what the local breweries do the flight. I really liked the coconut porter was very balanced and I would have that again. Things to remember and take note. 1. It is very busy...very busy. The best way is not to drive and park up in the lot. Most likely you won't find parking. Park at the satellite lot and shuttle up. It's very easy. 2. Bring water. There is horse rides outside as well but be careful on stepping on the horse poop though... The restaurant itself is so pretty! So when we paid for our bill, he asked how many change? We're from California so we were slightly confused by the question: was he asking about how many 1, 5, and 10s or just how much to give back in general? Probably the first option though.... We also didn't understand to later on so we said include 15% tip. He basically smiled and give us the money and never came back again. I also calculated and he gave himself a 18% tip instead....like wtf??? Food: Honey Pork Rib is small but pretty yummy. Glazed crispiness on the outside and softness on the inside. The other food were great as well but it's in a small portion on a big plate for a slightly high price. Yep...it's worth to try in the lunch price but I can't speak for the dinner price. Alpine Social is a classy place for a drink or a bite to eat at any time of the day or night. The interior has a modern and clean feel to it. It is a great place to meet someone for business, a date, or just hanging out with friends. They have a wide variety of whiskey, beers, and cocktails. The bartenders know what they are doing and are very knowledgable about their items, which is good because they know what mixes well and tastes good and how it is made. I came here on three occasions during my stay at the Fairmont. I always had a great time. I've tried the sweet and spicy fried chicken and the pork and chicken sandwich with waffle fries. The fried chicken was good, but I think it could have been more sweet and spicy. It was more tangy and salty than anything. The sandwich was my favorite. The meat was flavorful and tender. The waffle fries had a nice crispy texture and they gave you a lot! Overall, I enjoyed all aspects of this place. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but the service is top notch. read more

Walked in. Was seated immediately. Guests of the hotel are usually a priority, but the restaurant was not that busy. We were a party of 6 so we sat at the table top. We started off with appetizers. We ordered the Social Nachos. It was delicious and it came with 3 sauces on the side (queso, guac, and salsa) It consisted of : smoked gouda, cheddar, monetary jack, jalapeños, scallions and tomatoes. The plate is shareable especially since were 6. My table also ordered the Alpine Fried Chicken, I did not try it, but they all said it was good as well! For my main dish, I ordered the Margherita Flatbread. It consisted of tomato sauce, tomato, mozzarella, basil and balsamic. It was pretty good, but I feel like have had better at other places. It costs about 22 CAD. I think overall the food was good. I'm rating it 3 stars because I thought the experience was super average and the service was not that great. However, as is seemingly the case with most of Lake Louise, the food has fallen short of the surrounding scenery in quality. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? I will say that the service and atmosphere at Alpine Social are lovely, and be they from Ontario or Australia you're bound to be tended do by a friendly face. For whatever reason our food, beer, and checks were slow to come out during what was otherwise a pretty slow Saturday, but I can't hold it against our severs. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Yes, Alpine Social is expensive, but so is everything else in Lake Louise, and in the grand scheme of things $23 for a burger and fries at Alpine Social is better value compared to many of the other options in the Fairmont. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? My girlfriend and I got beers, an Asian salad, seafood chowder, a burger and fries, and a sundae, and not surprisingly for me at least it was all mediocre. The chowder was the highlight, but a mediocre burger on account of a flavorless patty and weak peripherals, undercooked waffle fries, and an only average sundae didn't leave either of us with a lasting impression. With every highlight comes a lowlight, and the lowlight here was the Asian noodle salad, which my girlfriend left essentially untouched after a few bites. No Stars. A great restaurant at the Fairmont Lake Louise. You can sit outside on the patio which overlooks the lake. I sat at the bar, which was very nice. The bar looks wonderful and they have a decent scotch menu. I ordered the fish of the day (halibut and it was cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside and melted on your mouth. It came on top of an amazing risotto and veggies. I liked the ambience of the place and it's a perfect place to kick back with a beer after hiking around the lake! read more

So if you're not a guest at the hotel and you don't already have a reservation, there are only limited dining options available to you at the Chateau Lake Louise. Well, this one was available when we walked in for a lunch meal after a morning of fun in the area. And when we were seated (around a half hour wait) we were pretty pleased with the menu options. I had some Asian inspired foods while others at the table had nachos, an open faced sandwich (which honestly was a surprise, it seemed more likely that that menu option would have been a regular sandwich rather than an open faced one). The food quality was rather good. Our server was cordial and helpful and the restaurant had good restrooms as well. I liked some of the decor touches including the Scrabble you could play on the wall and some of the outdoorsy decor items. We had an excellent meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity. read more

I normally am not a fan of burgers. But the combination of the truffle aioli and the tender juicy beef and soft bun, ugh so good! I chose the side of waffle fries. This is the only restaurant that serves patrons that aren't guests of the Fairmont, so if you're hungry and at Lake Louise, this is probably your only choice for places to eat or grab a drink. Luckily they have a beautiful patio that overlooks the lake and a decent menu with prices that are reasonable, especially for a hotel restaurant inside the Fairmont that costs an arm and a leg. A burger will set you back ~$24 so it's certainly not cheap, but to be expected at the Fairmont and for a place that will let you dine with a view worth a million dollars (when not overrun by tourists) They have a good selection of small, medium and larger plates and more upscale tapas / bar-food like ribs, pork belly, seared tuna, chicken wings, nachos, some salads, burgers and sandwiches. There were a lot of things on the menu that looked appetizing to us but we wanted to just have a snack and a beer post-hike. The stout beer & onion soup ($14) was good - it does have a lot of cheese, but it was tasty and flavorful without being salty. We also got the slow braised pork belly ($9) that came with 2 corn fritters. The pork belly was good - a bit on the fatty side, but to be expected with pork belly. I didn't really care too much for the corn fritters as they reminded me of a dry hushpuppy or fried dough with some kernels of corn sprinkled in. I'd give this place 3.5 stars - decent food and views, and since you don't have any other dining options if you want to sit down for a meal at Lake Louise, this will have to do for most people. It is a bit steep in price, so beware if you're sitting down for a full meal or have a large group / family that you have to feed. Even though it's expensive, I'd come back here again to eat on another trip to Lake Louise. Worth a stop for a snack, beer, water and a bathroom break. read more

Empty room and they cozied us up next to the washrooms. Nice view of the bar, which seems to be the highlight of this place. So I'd advise that you come for some drinks and maybe have an appetizer. Drink menu is decent and they have a unique menu of flights that includes beers as well as spirits. The thing that sets Alpine Social apart is the excellent service. From the very pleasant and helpful hostess to the army of waiters, everyone is extremely professional and goes out of their way to make sure you're enjoying yourself. Knowing my mom was injured and not able to walk much, we got one of the only tables inside (it was cold and drizzling) with a great view of the lake. On top of that, the food is tasty and the drinks are on point. Fair warning, the Social Nachos are huge and definitely more appropriate to share. The waffle fries were really good, especially once the waiter found me some Frank's Red Hot. Trying to be healthy, I also got the Caesar, which was fine. The Mezcal Mule was awesome and I downed three of those so fast they ran out of Mezcal and had to get more from storage! Is it expensive? You bet!
